When picking up there wasn't anyone available to help hitch the trailer. The attendant didn't offer, she asked a customer if he could help. Also, my order (#19823218) showed a cost of 37.95, but I was actually charged $81.22 (doubled charged, I still need to get that resolved). Why is there such a large difference in the cost?Michael P.
A dive gas station way out of town. Got there and the operator said he knew nothing about any U-Haul drop off and complained to me about the situation. Told me I was at the wrong location and could not drop the truck. I proved it to him on the paperwork and he said fine drop the keys. U-Haul obviously don't care or manage anything.Randall C.

This location was about 25 miles round trip out of my way. Service itself was great if I lived in Jasper. The truck provided for out of state travel did not have cruise control, very sloppy steering and mushy breaks. Completed trip without incident. A plus.JEROME W.

When I recieved my U-Haul rental, it was a 10 ft instead of the 15 ft I reserved and paid for in full 13 days prior to my move date. I had recieved a call from a woman the day before informing me that they did not have a 15 ft truck at the location I reserved at. She had informed me that I could swap to a location that was even farther away, the closest was a 20 minute drive. I was irritated because they had two weeks to deliver a truck to this site. I had a "100%" guarantee and had already paid for it, but I understand things are difficult with COVID19, so I begrudgingly accepted the smaller truck. When I arrived to pick up my rental, a 15 ft truck was parked directly in front of my 10 ft replacement, felt like a slap in the face. I figured I would try to make due, not worth the time being upset over. It took me 20 minutes to get into the truck because the site would not take my phone number. When I opened it at my home, none of the equipment I paid for was inside. I could not fit all my items in it and had to make another trip with my car. My new home is 50 minutes from my previous home. When I was ready to return my vehicle, I could not check out online. Tried on my phone, then on my laptop thinking it may be a mobile issue, nothing worked. I sat on the phone for 40 minutes and 30 with a chat representative simultaneously. Eventually, I recieved the information on how to drop off my U-Haul and did so. Then, when I returned to pick up my vehicle I parked at the BP gas station site, I had a note on my windshield from the owner of the gas station threatening to tow my car if I parked there again. When I went inside to ask if I was required to park elsewhere for a U-Haul reservation, the woman at the counter informed me that I had recieved the threat because I had not parked my vehicle close enough to the brick building. It would be gracious of me to say that it was a foot out from the wall at the back of the building, completely out of the way of traffic. Renting from U-Haul has been an incredibly awful experience. This was my first and last time. I have filed a return for the equipment I paid for and did not receive from the woman on the phone I talked with. The person on the chat told me I had to send a picture of the empty truck, like that would actually prove anything.Jude P.

I still do not have a receipt of my charges. When I picked up, the guy didn't bother to come out and look at anything or to ask if I had any questions. When I returned it the lady acted like it was a bother to be dealt with. The equipment needs new wheels the paint is peeling off. Tires don't look the best. Horrible u-haul experience. One-way rental pick up completely out of the way by 25+ miles. Reserved u-haul 2+ weeks ahead of time and called day before (held for 2.5 hours) re checking on dolly and blankets and was told - NO BLANKETS, people have been stealing and there are none available. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE - If agent had to go to wal-mart and purchase blankets - I reserved - YOU SHOULD HAVE - YOU ARE IN THE MOVING BUSINESS NOT THE EXCUSE BUSINESS!!David G.

Truck had low air pressure warning..Dash warning said Air Pressure System required Maintenance..Both Rear tires were low and I had to fill them.....Red clay was still present in storage area...I had to sweep be before I could could use it...various debris also still in the Storage area...Vehicle front end bounced and pulled to the right...Cab area still mildly dirty from previous renter...No dedicated staff for truck rentals..Had to wait for numerous customers to purchase their items before I could complete the transaction...I was asked for 2 references with name and phone number..even though I was a local resident with 2 Major credit cards...Never had to do that before....DALE A.

Had some major issues with my recent U-Haul Rental Issue #1: In picking up my 5x8 Trailer I was first given a Trailer that did not have operational tail lights. As the vendor had no one to assist me in hooking up the Trailer, as they were unable to leave the Cash Register, I spent an hour trying to figure out the problem. I eventually discovered that 2 of the 4 wires at the electrical connection between the Trailer and the wire that eventually leads to the connector that attaches to my SUV were cut. So the Clerk, redid the paperwork and assigned me a replacement Trailer. Upon inspection of that replacement Trailer, I noticed that Trailer did not have the wire that extends from the Trailer to my SUV. Back to the Clerk I went. Before heading back, I did however notice a good connecting wire on a third Trailer and told the Clerk I would use that one on the first Trailer as I had already hooked that Trailer up to my SUV, so he switched the paperwork back again. That fixed the problem but cost me an hour of my time and a lot of frustration. Issue #2: Halfway to my destination at a Gas stop, I very fortunately noticed a large bulge in the Trailer passenger side tire. I suspect I was going to shortly experience a dangerous tire blow-out if I had not spotted this issue at this stop. Very concerning as I had a loaded Trailer and my wife and 2 daughters in the car with me. I called the U-Haul Roadside Assistance # and got a VERY helpful representative Ayden who after a 15 minute call and 15 minutes or so callback, let me know that someone would be out within the hour to change my tire. After an hour and 15 minutes with the rep re-checking with the Tire Repair person I was told it would be another 30 minutes, that timeline was also not met and the total wait for the Tire replacement wound up being almost 2 hours. Total delay from when I first reported the issue to resolution was 2 1/2 hours more of lost time and frustration. The replacement of the Tire itself took only 5 minutes. The delay caused me to miss the window for my loading dock reservation at my daughter's new apartment causing me to work well into the night. I replied to a email from U-Haul asking if I had any concerns with my rental with an email with the above correspondence, but did not get a reply. I followed up with a phone call to Customer Service. I later was received a call back from a Manager (Jerry), who said he would give me some type of VIP Credit towards my next rental via an email by the next day. That was now over 3 days ago and I still have not heard anything back. I'd have preferred they would have adjusted my original invoice and credited my account. I have rented from U-Haul frequently in the past and this is by far my worst experience. Again, I had hoped that U-Haul would have extended me a credit on this rental but none was offered. Note: This was a 3 day rental and I also did return it in a day and a half early. I would definitely think twice about renting from U-Haul ever again.Joseph M.

I was overcharged, total for initial pick up should've been should've been about $188.04 (base price $99. + extra day $40. + coverage for 2 days total of $28, not $56..). Request this be fixed and appropriate credit of $60.99 be applied to my card.Gary D.
The agent said my "trailer was not on his list" and took my papers into the store. After 20 minutes I got tired of waiting and went into the store to see what the hold up was, only to find that the agent had left and given my papers to cashier at the counter and said "to give them to us if we came in. He didn't bother coming out to tell us that the vehicle had been "checked in". Later when he did show up, I asked him why he didn't have the courtesy to come out and tell me that we were checked in, his answer was "you should receive an email". I asked him "Do I look like I'm sitting at my computer checking my email?" The trailer was not equipped with a tongue jack to lift the tongue off of the tow vehicle. All of the Uhaul agents that I spoke to, acknowledged that it was the responsibility of the Uhaul agent to unhook the trailer from the tow vehicle, but he refused saying it was my responsibility. I am recovering from shoulder surgery and not allowed to lift heavy weights. My wife is not physically strong enough to lift the tongue of trailer either. After three hours of listening to lies from their "Customer Service" people. we resolved the issue ourselves.and left. Their Customer Service department will tell you any lie necessary to get you off of the phone. One of the many things that you will hear as you are waiting to talk to a live person, is that the conversation will be be recorded and that if you ask the agent, they will send you a copy. We asked .... it was another lie. Once they have your money, they will say anything they need to to get you off of the phone. Example: I will have the District Manager look into this and call you in just a few minutes. It never happened even though we were promised this three times. They will say anything to get you off of the phone once they have your money and will not compensate you in any way for your frustration or delays.Kieth G.

I was sent confirmation the day I made the reservation on line for a specific location. Two days later I get an email telling me a different pick up location that was 20 miles away. When I went to pick up, the truck had so many bugs on the windshield that I hardly could see. The sweet girl trying to register my pick up, after I did it all on line, had no idea what she was doing and she was tryin to wait on customers. In the end, I was charged for 6 miles over my contract mileage. NEVER AGAINTara G.

The cargo area had to be cleaned by us before we could use the truck. The location we used moved our reservation without telling us, which added 12 miles to the rental and caused us to pay an additional $12 dollars, and wasting an hour of our day. I tried to call customer service and was transferred twice before being put on eternal hold. I hung up after 30 minutes because we still had a move to do. I wish I could rate this experience as zero stars.William R.

We saved some money returning the trailer Jasper instead of Ellijay. It's convenience store with handles U-Haul on the side, but the service in making our return was as good or better than most full-time U-Haul storefronts. We also like this store is open seven days a week.Doug R.
