Stop selling the gas for more then what it cost at a gas station. Stop saying it’s $70 to rent then when we bring the trucks back it’s $165

Uhaul was very kind to accommodate my needs especially in a difficult situation where a sudden situation happened where I needed assurance I could pick up the truck at a later time. Joe, JD, and Adam went above and beyond. I had somewhat complex requirements which necessitated a guarantee of what I wanted to be there on Tues. Morning (or it would have hit the fan!). Not to mention that I had to cancel part of the equipment a few days before. They went above and beyond to help me out and were courteous, and helpful and fun! A great experience which I will repeat and recommend. Thank you Uhaul.

I was overcharged. I was charged for renting a dolly and furniture pads which after I received the email receipt and called the rental location, they agreed weren't rented to me. I am still awaiting a refund on my card. It shouldn't be up to the customer to point out that these items weren't rented to them, post rental on an emailed receipt.

Clean, yes. The oil light was on from the time we picked up the vehicle. We were told it was of no concern, but we were a little nervous while we had the vehicle.

Confusing. Locked. Difficult to deliver outside of hours. Had to figure it out. Could not get into locked location and no place to park outside. No box indicated to drop off keys so dropped it in postal box. The uhaul app was excellent in delivering the truck after hours but the location was confusing and closes early very day (at 3 pm). We were there at 4pm with the intent of delivering during usual office hours.

The steering wheel shook and you had to hold it with both hands to keep it from going in the ditch and your pricing on your advertisements is severely miss leading I paid over $300 to use this crappy truck for four hours

Uhaul made the decision to switch the location I wanted to pick up at, which was 40 mins away from where I wanted and also changed my pickup time to 2 hours after the time I had scheduled! Awesome job people! Great way to add unnecessary stress to movers already stressful situation!

We were not sure of the amount of gas needed to travel to Toronto and back. We put way too much gas in the tank and returned with an additional half tank of gas above the required amount. I asked if we would be credited for this, or at the very least given credit towards further service. No answer yet, and the location had to discuss this with head office. If I returned the vehicle with less gas than what was there, I would be charged a fee for gas. So why can’t I get a credit for the additional gas, using this same principle? I hope to receive an answer, and more importantly, I hope to be given a credit. Thank you.

If no one is on site, and a note is left directing folks to call the site next door for service, do not assume that all customers have their own phone and are able to do that.

Do not use online check in. It was not very convenient, took longer than it would have to use a person, and requires a strange approval process such as a rental lease agreement or calling an employer to verify. How can they can an employer on a Saturday if they are closed and you have no rental agreement? You can slo put an alternative contact instead, who uHaul calls and speaks with. It was overall invasive, and I had to submit photos of my drivers license which I was not comfortable with. Location was great and helpful. But do not use online check in.

I was disappointed with having to rent a 26 foot truck when I had reserved a 20 foot truck one week earlier. Also, their ability to approximate distance sucks. When the were told I was going to Kingston from Burlington (and back) they approximated 60 Km. REALLY! I ended up with an extra $161.00 charge. Next time it will be budget or discount. Never U-haul again.

I picked up my rental van, signed the paperwork, and as I drove out of the lot I glanced at the paperwork and the odometer and noticed that the odometer was reading 30km higher than the ‘out’ reading on the paperwork (ie. if not corrected I would be charged an additional 30km over and above what I actually drove). It was just a fluke that I happened to look at the odometer and the paperwork at that moment, normally I wouldn’t, and had I not looked I would have had no recourse upon returning the van at the end of the day. I returned immediately and the agent at the location did correct the paperwork, however that’s simply not good enough. This is the kind of error that just CANNOT happen, as it is tantamount to fraud. It’s a fairly simple thing...when a vehicle is returned, the mileage goes into the system, and when it goes out, the next rental starts at that same mileage. If the vehicle is used by employees or shuttled between locations between rentals, there absolutely MUST be systems in place to account for that use, especially in a company the size of uhaul. This is an issue of integrity, brand reputation, and trust. For me, trust in your brand has been lost. All I was offered was a cursory apology, and I was still charged normally for the rental. This simply tells me that your company really doesn’t grasp the gravity of this issue. It’s not about the money for me...it was a short rental and only a 30km discrepancy so I only would have been charged an extra $20 or so (although still a 50% premium over what I’d planned on spending). This is about the absence of controls in place at your company to prevent fraudulent billing. If the controls aren’t in place, then who’s to say that this couldn’t happen on a larger scale to any unsuspecting customer? Very disappointed.

Dropped off the van after hours. The location is probably safe, but after hours (9:30 pm) it seemed a little sketchy. Again, very happy with U-haul as a rental company for moving supplies and vans. Very convenient and extremely flexible and helpful!

The tires on the back of the van are pretty poor. Great for Arizona, terrible for Ontario. No back up camera on this van....last one we rented had this feature and it's very useful!

I had initially booked a 26 foot truck. A couple of days before our move I was notified that due to mechanical issues it was not available. I was told a 20 foot truck would possibly be available Saturday evening or a 10 foot truck. Although I was offered a good deal for the 10 foot truck I just didn't think it would be big enough. We had peopled coming to help us move early Saturday morning so we could not wait until Saturday evening and as far as the 10 foot truck it would not be big enough for all of our household items nor would some of our furniture fit. When I called back & spoke to customer service she was fantastic. She was able to get me a 15 foot truck at a location much closer to where we lived. Also she said she would honor the deal offered for the 10 foot truck. It was all okay in the end with the 15 foot truck. I will use uhaul again

Van rented had in excess of 89,000 miles and as such the steering displayed significant looseness which caused it to want to "wander" from side to side at speeds of 40-55 mph. Rental experience was fine.
