We reserved truck for 5 hours. 1-6. When we arrived to pick up our truck, it wasn't there. We didn't pull out with truck until 1:40 but they still expected it back at 6. Odd.THERESA D.

The employee was very helpful and the check in was easy. Only thing was the truck needs to go into the shop. It would shake beyond normal with or without furniture in the truck. Also, there were cigarette buds in the door panel, which made the cab stink like smoke.Kristina K.
U-Haul's requirement to provide telephone numbers of two references seems like a marketing scam and made me very uncomfortable. This was particularly vexing when U-Haul refused to accept my spouse as one of my references because she was already in your system. I still think this is some sort of marketing scam and might cause me to use a different company in the future. I recognize this is a U-Haul requirement and not a reflection on the local proprietor.Michael S.

This company is going down hill quickly. In the past week my household has used it twice and both times a nightmare. You are lucky you really are the only company that rents trailers or you would be belly up. Also, what's the point to express/ contactless check in when you still have to check it. You company really is garbage.Adam P.
Exterior of van very dirty. Windows were not clean and I spent a half hour removing bug and sap from windshield prior to my trip for safe vision. No one at location at return time at 7 AM. Unsure if I should leave the key unattended in vehicle due to possible theft. No key drop box available.RICHARD H.

I rented a van yesterday and when I delivered it they told me that everything was fine so there is nothing more to pay, now they charged me $ 317.44 they sent me an email saying that they charged me for some scratches on the van and I do not hurt the van I need get my money backMARIO L.

We locked the keys in the truck and this location did not inform us that we should have called the UHaul help service instead of a local locksmith (we had purchased the insurance) to help us out. Since the truck had mechanical locks it was very easy to unlock with the right equipment. We were charged $169 for the service. When I turned in the truck the manager at that location informed me about calling the UHaul service. Unfortunately knowing this after the fact was not helpfulmargret E.
The problems started at the location where I was supposed to pick up my trailer, 6889 New Hampshire Ave, Takoma Park, MD. I had reserved a trailer one month in advance, checked in on-line, made a reservation for 9am, and arrived early. We stood in line for over 1 hour! The representative that called me up was harsh, rude, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. I do not remember her name, but I remember her wig of long hair, and off-white long finger nails that she used to scratch and pat her head. She told me that my trailer had been moved to another location. I think that she said Chillum Road. She mentioned that I should have received a text message regarding the matter one day prior to pick-up, which would have been May 14, 2021. I mentioned that I had gone on-line the morning of my scheduled pick-up (May 15), entered my license information and other details, and confirmed the address for pick up. My family had realized that a larger trailer was needed. The request for a larger trailer was made on-line because no one answered the phone calls that we made. The lady who never looked up at me, but scratched and patted her head often, gave me two addresses to go and hunt for a 6' x 12' trailer. I asked her to help me some, because I was from the state of Georgia, had just driven from GA to MD, stood in line over an hour, and did not know the areas well. She refused to provide basic customer service and assistance beyond telling me to "go there", as she pointed to two different addresses. We ended up getting a call from a U-Haul phone number, (301) 403-1531, while having made our way to the Chillum Rd., Hyattsville, MD facility. This call may have happened because I requested a Manager's assistance at the Takoma Park, MD location. The representative mentioned that there was a 6' x 12' trailer at a facility located at 1824 Forest Dr, Annapolis, MD 21401. We drove to the Annapolis, Maryland facility, picked up the trailer, but were not able to get our boxes that were paid for on line, because the gas station did not have boxes. Further, the gas Attendant bounces between several customers, and suggested that I hook up my own trailer. We then drove to a 4th U-Haul location, 2115 West St., Annapolis MD, 21401, to get the boxes that had been purchased at U-Haul's website..., only to be told that we could not get the boxes because they were purchased at another U-haul facitlity. We then paid for boxes for the second time. It was a tremendously overwhelming, 3+ hours, unprofessional, and debilitating experience. Please do better U-Haul.Roderick K.

It was a gas station. The gentleman in the booth, was very kind and helpful. Just felt weird to be dropping my key & truck off to a gentleman in a small booth at a small gas station.Thomas A.
This place is a dump. The building looks like it should be condemned- tore down. Reminds me of buuildings in a war zone. The person at the location told be to just hand in the keys...I didn't feel comfortable doing that - so he pointed to the on-line option and key box - which I did. That was easy and straightforward. I would rather have had someone to check in with and get a receipt - but the on-line option was ok.JAMES G.

The customer service person did not speak English. I went in the day before to make sure it was ready and all the equipment would be there. That day the English speaking person said I was "good to go." The following day I got there at 0815 for my 0830 pick up and the only English that the rep could say was "You come back at 3:30 PM." I had to wait 30 minutes for him to deal with another customer who was also having problems. He eventually laid his phone in front of me and an English speaking person whose voice I recognized from the previous day said that I could have the truck I had already paid for online. He then asked if I wanted the $15 insurance. I told him that I already paid for it. He then asked if I wanted any additional equipment. I said only the dolly I already paid for. He said they had no dollies. That was a problem. How was I going to move the big pieces of furniture. Then he said that they had some other piece of equipment that I could rent. I told him that I was not going to pay for something extra when I was already charged for a more expensive item. He finally agreed. Then I was given a truck. Two warning lights were on. One was a low tire warning. I tried to tell the non-Engligh speaking person there was a problem. He said "No problem". I made him come out of his building and look at the dashboard. He said no problem. truck is good. I asked for another truck and he said no, truck is good. I had people lined up to help me move and a freight elevator reserved for only an hour, so I had to take the truck. I asked where I could park my car and he told me that I would be charged to park my car on his property. Unbelievably frustrating experience. It was already a stressful day. I will NEVER go back there again.Jon H.
Base on review search, before picking up the rental, I found that many people were charged a cleaning fee, which I expect no to be my case, and to my surprise the rental was dirty. Not to mentioned that it was difficult to open that god damned-rusty lock. And to finish, setting aside the actual location, but the actual company, and its ridiculous outage of almost 12 hours! That is ridiculous and put a lot of people in jeopardize!!! Think it twice to use U-haul again!!Cornelio P.

The guy running uhaul made me pay to park my vehicle at the location while I rented a van for about one hour. The parking lot was literally empty except for a guy sleeping in a van. Who charges customers to park their car? I was totally hustled. I told the man to his face he was ripping me off. I will never return to this location again, period.Ryan P.

I returned the truck clean. I swept out the back, which had wood chips in it when I got it. I called the location and they claim it was dirty, which it wasn't. I will NEVER use this location again and will probably not use UHaul again because of this experience.MICHAEL C.
This location charged me $5 just to park my car onsite. Then I was charged a $25 cleaning fee and I can assure you THEY DID NOT CLEAN the vehicle. First bc I did not get it dirty, I simply loaded a settee and unloaded a settee....but also bc the vehicle had trash from the previous driver. I will NEVER rent from this location. I have rented from the location on West street last Fall and will most definately chose that location for any future rental needs.WENDY H.
