Pick up was not straightforward at all. The U-Haul smelled like really bad body odor when I picked it up too.

How U-Haul Reviews WorkUHaul was able to accommodate a last-minute request for a van; the van was spotless and drove very well. I would definitely recommend UHaul; this location pick up was convenient and the leasing manager was very professional and nice.
Maria ACleanest nicest uhaul I've ever used! Great location, helpful, fast!
Noelle BAccess to this location is limited and difficult. You can only get to it by coming from one direction and you can only exit in one direction. It also doesn’t feel particularly safe. I would not scheduled a rental from that location again.
Katharine HIt was a gas station which was busy. The clerk didn’t talk to us just asked for an ID and two additional contacts. It took him about 10 minutes to confirm the reservation and because hmthe gas station was busy he would help over customers while trying to confirm my rental. We also had to pick up a trailer at a U-Haul storage facility they had plenty of the same size trucks on their lot. Not sure why I had to go to two different places
