I travelled only 2.8 miles and yet was billed 1.7 gallons of fuel for approximately 8$ That is so pathetic. I would never take U Haul from the same place

They were open later than was shown on their website. The guy did the check in - made an exception. A 6 p.m. closing time was earlier than other area U Haul’s. Had I known that, I would have requested another drop off location. Lots of options in Mesa.

I filled the tank back to (more than) the starting amount and refurned the uhaul after hours using he drop box. My emailed receipt had a fuel charge on it. Here is the full story. I did pick the rental up later than expected but I wasn’t worried because I knew it was a daily rental. I needed the rental to move my daughters belongings out of a storage unit and into her ASU apartment. I confirmed that I could drop off after hours when picking it up. I also confirmed that I was not sure if I would use more than the estimated 10 Miles I entered on the reservation. All were acknowledged by the clerk. I dropped off the rental and keys around 8. I stopped at the gas station less than two blocks from the pickup/drop off location and put in $11 of fuel. After I received the $10 fuel charge on my emailed receipt I contact the clerk and he let the manager know to call me. The manager called me right back and said that the fuel level was below what I check it out at. I told him that was false. I didn’t take a photo of the fuel gage as proof But I did know how many miles I used and I had my gas station receipt. The manager said I was wrong and then continued to ask me what time I returned the rental. Since it was after hours, they close at 7. I had estimated returning it at 7 but didn’t until 8, he said he could have biled me for the late return and that basically if I kept complaining he would bill me for that as well. Remember I picked it up an hour and a held later than I had intispated.. I had a few words with the very rude manager and told him that his actions would be noted in a review. I know it was “only” $10. Don’t use this location. They pick and choose the rules that want to enforce.

I like the Fun Services staff. I did not get an email advising me how to do an online check in and drive away quickly - that was disappointing although the Fun Services staff made it relatively quick.

The most horrible experience I have ever had with U-Haul. I was truly disappointed in the service that was provided. 1. I scheduled a mobile pickup for 9am. We arrive at the location and “check in” on the website to be told we have to come back at 10am when the store opens. This put us over an hour behind schedule. Then what is the point of the mobile 24/7 service? 2. We live only a few (2-3)miles from the pickup location. From where we picked up the U-Haul to our apartment we had used 1/4 tank of gas? In just a couple miles? It costed us $50 to just get the U-Haul back to 1/2 tank when we returned it. 3. When we pulled out of our driveway we noticed a 2 foot long oil spot. Fresh oil from the U-Haul. So now we have to deal with getting that oil stain out of brand new driveway. I don’t ever complain like this and have never had an issue with U-Haul until today. I feel like we were taken advantage of. U-Haul is supposed to make moving easy, not more difficult and stressful than it already is. I would be happy to provide pictures of the oil stain if needed.

The van I got, the key fob didn't work, the power locks would only work if the motor was on and the windshield wipers were so bad that when I rain into rain on a two lane highway at night, I was completely blind. It was very stressful because there was no where for me to pull off the road and at some points I could not see through the windshield. I had to travel at a crawl which made me a hazard to other drivers at well.

we were not informed that the dolly would not be available, nor the furniture pads. moving a three bedroom house was very difficult without a dolly. i would’ve made other arrangements had i known we would not be provided a dolly. i also had to use bed comforters as furniture pads so now i have to go to the laundromat which i despise.. i checked in online far prior to our pick up time, and yet we had a great deal of issues checking in upon arrival. they asked for additional proof of identity? requested a passport photo or a lease agreement - obviously i had neither of the two on hand. the lock box was EXTREMELY difficult and took us fifteen minutes to access. the overall check in time was 45 minutes which was extremely frustrating on an already stressful situation. overall i was fairly disappointed with the experience

A loading bar or some kind of progress check-in for the user during online rental approval, while someone is checking all of the documents. The wait time is appropriate (~10 minutes) but, this is a long time to wait with zero feedback. I thought my internet had gone out, reloaded the page, and eventually use the message system to check in - no response. I was getting really worried as it approached 10 minutes, but it was approved as I was about to send a second message. Please give the user something that lets us know how the review is progressing!

Make sure everyone is on the same page and tells customers information before you finalize shit you can’t undo later on and not have smart ass customer service representatives.

Love the option of loading the U Haul app and picking up/returning the equipment this way. Very cool!

The van was clean and in good condition except for the power locks. The key fob did not work at all, I'm assuming a dead battery. The unlock buttons on both driver and passenger doors would not work unless the engine was running which I did not figure out until I was finished utilizing the van. Extremely frustrating. This meant I had to climb in through the back of the truck to get the side doors open which was very difficult to unlock from the inside.

Windshield was filthy dirty with bug splatters everywhere! I'm VERY unhappy that U-Haul does not honor the customer selected "pick-up" and "drop-off" locations. My observation is that U-Haul puts the burden of where to pick-up and drop-off their trucks based on their needs not the customers. That costs the customer time & money!!! I will be looking more closely at competitors for my next rentals.
