I picked up the truck using online application, because the office was closed at that day.
I recommend the following:
1. The online instruction doesn't specify where to find the black box with the truck key. I was looking for the black box on the truck,
and its cargo area. Turned out the black box was outside the office door on the wall. It was somewhat frustrating, Please update the instructions with the location of the black box.
2. While looking for the black box, I was trying to contact a UHaul representative with the question. The only well visible contacts were the address and phone of the office, which was closed. Their phone was sending me to the voice mail, which would be read in a few days.
I finally found 800 number in one of emails/app messages. People at 800 number were great.
Please, make sure that the 800 number is included everywhere where UHaul contact information is provided, especially on the days when the local office is closed.

Hard ti explain, but truck back door does not lock well. It opened 3 times while I was driving. I had to tie it down after it opened for the third time. My bed frame fell 3 times on the middle of the road. Thankfully I was driving local where not much traffic. But someone need to take a look at that.

It would help if in the pre-check-in it indicated that you need someone to be available to answer the phone and that you need a passport or physical copy of your lease at the time of the rental. I ended up having to go home to get my passport and I had to wait for my husband to get off of a presentation call so he could answer for me. If a person traveled by transit or ride share this would be expensive and could cause people to miss scheduled movers.

The location did not open at 8:30am as advertised and as was on the door. I tried calling the number on the door that said to call if someone wasn't there, that number also did not have anyone respond. Finally, 45 minutes late someone showed up. This made an already tense day even worse.

When starting the truck, there was a message that the tire pressure was low. The person in the rental location said it didn’t matter….
Also the steering wheel isn’t centered, which might indicate that the alignment of the tires isn’t as it should be. It makes me wonder if this vehicle is properly maintained.

The customer service was excellent on the day that we were moving. (The next day no one answered the phone...)
I was overcharged for gas, but a refund was no problem.
The truck itself barely made it up the Arlington hills, but luckily it did make it.
I'd definitely recommend the Arlington location due to the great customer service we had on moving day.
However, check out which van they plan to give you before moving day, to be sure it's in good condition.
Again, they were easy to work with, and friendly. That's what really counts on an otherwise stressful day.

Arlington Self Storage is the best! We rented a unit here during a home renovation project and Arlington Self Storage was so easy to work with. The facility is very clean and easy to access. They have trucks onsite to rent, which made everything streamlined in our move/storage process. But what stood out the most was how great the staff were -- they were personable, efficient, and really helpful. I've used other storage facilities before and I definitely would rank Arlington Self Storage at the top of the pack by far. Thanks to everyone there - you're rock stars!
