OK the truck was fine but when I picked up using 24/7 there was a man sleeping in the cab and since I was alone and it was 7:00 AM I had to call the police to remove the man from the truck.Susan K.
Truck was filthy, including: a pile of trash on the back bumper, a dustpan pull of dirt and litter in the bed, potato chips in the passenger's seat, drink holder and floor mats on both sides sticky (apparently previous user spilled a large drink), bugs all over the windshield, etc.Gregory H.

Website allowed us to select the following location for drop off A Plus Tire & Batteries 1605 N Belt E Belleville, IL 62221 But the person staffing that location refused to accept the truck (said it was too large) so we were forced to go to Asland, he nearest alternate, which was closed, then spent extensive time on hold getting the drop off location changed on the reservation before we could use the drop box. When I picked up the Uhaul the rep advised it was on a 1/4 tank. I went through their mobile check in which requires I inspect the truck from front to back and take a picture of the fuel gauge which I did. I returned it early per request as I was told it was double booked. After return i was overcharged $135.62 for "fuel fees". I only went 2 miles the whole time i had it. The rep advised i had "changed the fuel gauge to 7/8 of a tank and was therefore charged for the additional fuel from 1/4 to 7/8. I stated multiple times I had not changed anything, simply completed the check in as requested. I was told i would be getting a refund. Called multiple times asking where my refund was (after 10 days of waiting) every time I call I get the same rude response that it was "my fault" all this happened and that if i hadn't "changed the fuel gauge" I would have never been charged. Spoke with the Field Rep Charlie Miller who also wanted to give me the same rude runaround bs story, blaming me and accepting NO responsibility for overcharging a customer. WILL ABSOLUTELY NEVER BE USING THIS LOCATION AGAIN!! Apparently no one at this location knows anything whatsoever about customer service. I would advise taking the time to go to any other location BESIDES this one if you want any kind of quality service.Wendy P.

Verify the fuel gauge before printing paperwork for a customer When I asked about the fuel gauge being in a different spot at less than what the paperwork said, I was told to send pictures, which I did. To improve this part, I would make note of the difference in the computer when given the new information. Because later after I returned the vehicle, I had put in the amount of gas where it was as instructed that I took it off the parking lot with. But I was charged for the amount on the original paperwork with no notes of the information I provided before taking it off the lot. Now I have been working to get a refund, and I still don't have it. We were told they were going to give a refund, but I still have not received the refund a week and a half later. I was told to keep checking the card and back in with the location, but I'm still waiting.Earl W.

Placed order for truck at A Plus Tire at 1605 N Belt E, Belleville, IL. Got dropped off and checked in only to discover location could not locate the keys to the truck. Attendant at A Plus called and located another truck at a location half mile away. Walked the one-half mile to location. Attendant at Ashland was very courteous, truck was clean and ready. However, the gas tank was listed as "full". After using the truck, I filled the truck up with gas. For 22.3 miles used, the gas tank took 8.075 gallons to fill, $38.91! This is less than 3 MPG (2.76)! This 15' Ford truck is rated at 10 MPG, so even it only got 8 MPG this means I had to pay for over twice the gas used.Thomas B.

Trucks should be on full it's way too complicated to guesstimate these random fuel expectancy returns. If it had to be back on full it would be easier. I waste a lot of money putting too much fuel into U Hauls and you don't get credit for them so overall it's a scam. If you're charging customers for not refueling why are the vehicles not on full?Zahmill M.

The manager or owner was very rude to me and he screwed up our bill which forced me to have to pay with a friend's credit card instead of the voucher my daughter bought for me and then he blamed me for the mistake. He should not be in business. He's rude, a jerk and kinda loud and mean. I will not ever go back there unless I'm in need of a jerk!Debi D.

Don't provide a service and state that there is a deposit and refuse to give it back at the end. Also, it should have been stated when the rental time was extended, that there would be no refunds for turning in 2 days earlier. That is misconceiving.Shawn C.

I had this tow dolly reserved at a different location and it was not available and had to go to a different location. Wasted a half hour of my time and they didn't give me 50 dollars for not having my reservation like your policy says very disappointed why have that policy if your not going to honor it.SONDRA H.

We want a 15ft truck they said they didn't have one but there one park on the lot so we ended up with a 10ft with no loading ramp to move two freezers and other stuff then they messed up on rented I ordered it for four day they charge my card they call on the 3day and told me to return it so I had to pay another day and still didn't get everything mover I im sorry but I will use this company anymore I rather pay more and get the job doneGary Z.

The person on the 314 helpline number was no help and put me 30 minutes behind schedule. Awful way to offer extra help. Staff at this facility are great! Phone help was the only issue.BRETT F.
I rented a truck and added a dolly. The truck was too small for my task, so I returned it and asked if I could keep the dolly longer. I was told it has to be back by 5 pm, or by 9 am the next day. My wife returns the truck at 3. At 3:30 I get a text from the traffic department that the truck hasn't been returned. I call them, and they tell me the site won't check in the truck until I return the dolly. Traffic contacted the site, who called and told me the same. I asked why, because I rented and paid for the dolly as a separate charge from the truck. Why can't the truck be checked in? No one told me that was how it worked. The guy also had an attitude about me not having the dolly back with the truck, even though he told me I could keep it until tomorrow morning at 9 am. I call traffic back and ask if I can complain to a supervisor about not being told how the arrangement with the dolly and the truck worked. This is where it got weird. The district manager calls me. He tells me that he's spoken to the site. I can keep the dolly until tomorrow morning, but if I don't return it on time I'll be charged and extra day for the dolly AND the truck. I'm also told that I can't be trusted to keep my word, and that â€œanother familyâ€ has the dolly reserved for tomorrow at 9 am. All I wanted to do was talk to the manager about the policy for checking in the truck not being given to me verbally or in writing. Instead, this manager goes nuclear and threatens me. I went home and immediately returned the dolly to UHaul. I then went to a competitor and rented another one. Honestly, the UHaul man at the site was rude to a woman who was with him before me. I felt bad for her. I don't know if they were related or if she was another customer. I saw them looking at a truck together when I pulled in. Your district manager needs some serious customer service training. Maybe start with listening to the customer before you start threatening damages and impugning your customer. Most of the time and unhappy customer just wants to be heard. All you have to do is listen. I will not rent from UHaul again. What a terrible experience.RONALD M.

I arrived on-site and none of my rental items were in the truck that I rented. Little did I know, this on-site contact made me do my own manual labor to fix his employee's problems. This meant digging into other trucks (that I was not renting) and finding the necessary items that I was renting (dolley, blankets). Then, went to go get my truck key from the lockbox and it wasn't there. For a process that you say takes "10 minutes" I was at this location over 1 hour, had to do my own manual labor to only be receiving a pathetic what you call a "refund". I think minimum wage is more than what you offered me. I will not be using this again.Chad H.
The only problem was that the location was 35 miles from my home, I had to drive there pick up the truck, pay mileage to drive back to my home, drive 35 miles to my destination, then drive another 25 miles back to the rental location. I got to pay 89 cents a mile for the inconvenience of that location plus I then had to drive 35 miles back home. My original rental was in Sparta (my home) but was called and told where to go to get the trailer. The folks at Van's where I set this up said I would be compensated for the driving, but when I picked it up there was none. Finally they knocked $10 off the bill. Seems you need to make sure everyone is on the same page in your business. Also seemed strange that there were numerous other locations that I could have dropped off the truck without driving 30 miles to the original location.MARK N.

I drove the truck a total of 7 miles. Put in $5 of gasoline which is 1.3 gallons of gas. When I got back to turn the truck in the guy charged me an extra $7 for gas.. How in the hell does that make sense. What is the mpg of the pickup truck? So you're telling me to go 7 miles it takes $12 of gasoline? RidiculousSHAUN B.
