There was some rubbish in the driver’s door compartment. The lady at the front desk was unprofessional and dismissive.
Mohammad LWould recommend to give more instructions about locating the car when picking up the vehicle. Was informed what the number was, was looking at the license plate rather than the vehicle on the car. Which was also slightly scratched off.

AMIN V9am booking but system was down and key cannot be released to check in. Delayed my move by about 1 hr leading to personal issues with hired movers, lift lobby delays and delayed move to condo given two trucks and move using same condo service lift. Dolly was booked but none available so I had go buy one from Cdn Tire.
Jason YThe operators of this outlet are outright thieves. I rented a van for 2 hours and drove EXACTLY 4 MILES. This was acknowledged. However, they proceeded to bill me $16 for gas used!!!!!! When I pointed out it is impossible to consume that much gas over 4 miles, they simply shrugged and showed me a hand-marked chart they them selves drew with the gas gauge presumably now down by some amount they said is worth $16. They refused to accept the logic that it was a mistake and would not adjust the bill. All the while I stood in front of them talking to the Customer Service Centre on my phone, they just sat there grinning. Obviously they try to rip off every client as much as they can and were not at all fazed that this time they were caught red-handed. NEVER use that particular U-Haul outlet. BE WARNED OF THOSE UNSCRUPULOUS AND UNREPENTANT CHEATS.
BOB KNo customer service when you return the keys the staff just tells you to throw it there and go. Sec they tell you to go and wait for the receipt instead of working on you there and there. I find this cheating because during reservation the price is different and upon sending the receipt, the price changes.
Stephen MI rented the same two wheel auto-hauler dolly a week apart from each other and the right taillight/turn-signal was burnt out. It was noticed the first time I rented it and nothing was done to rectify the issue and when I commented the second time about it I was told this service was done by U-Haul and not AuComm. I replied saying, well it’s not safe and I suggest you call U-Haul and get it fixed. I guarantee you they still probably haven’t and will not deal with it. Also, their hours start at 9am (displayed everywhere as 9am, so that is correct) and they didn’t show up until 9:45am. Made me late for my appointment to get my car safety inspection done. They were both very nice people otherwise, that part was a positive experience.
CLANCY RExcellent. Was happy that I could pre-order a day earlier and have a cargo van available for for time indicated. The location was very close to home and very convenient.

Wayne SPoor customer service and faulty equipment "I had a very frustrating experience at this location. I rented a truck, and just a few hours later, I was pulled over by a police officer because the rear passenger-side turn signal was not working. Fortunately, the officer was understanding and didn't give me a ticket, but it was a serious safety issue that should have been caught during inspection. When I immediately returned to the office to resolve the problem, the only 'solution' they offered was to end my current contract and start a new one for a different truck. This meant I had to pay twice for a mechanical failure that was 100% the company's responsibility. Very disappointed with the lack of accountability and fair treatment. I wouldn't recommend renting from here if you expect reliable vehicles or helpful service."

SHANE TI am not a fan of the 25 dollar cleaning fee. That accounted to 50% increase on my overall charge. I understand a cleaning fee if I made a mess but there is nothing being done to the truck and you UHAUL is grabbing a standard fee for no work being done.

ADRIAN JFirst, I want to mention that the receptionist was unwilling to provide proper information and kept responding with “this is how it is,” without offering any clear explanation. Secondly, they asked to physically take my credit card to manually enter all the details into their system for charging. When I asked why they needed my card in hand, she said they didn’t have a machine available. I also clearly explained that I only needed the car for two hours. She told me the rental is automatically set for 24 hours, but that returning it earlier would not result in any extra charges. However, the receipt I received clearly stated that additional hours would be charged. When I questioned this, she insisted not to worry and said the way she completed the forms would allow me to use the car for up to 24 hours without extra fees. Although I did not keep the car for 24 hours and returned it after approximately three hours, the next day I noticed that I was charged again. I believe this additional charge was related to the extra hours mentioned on the receipt.

PABLO GIt was basic and pretty much like all the rest. My only issue was that the trucks were not cleaned from snow and ice. I had several chunks fall from the top on the front windshield and into traffic from the top. Pretty dangerous

Kevin AThe truck I rented was covered in snow. It took me a while to take it out and with no windshield fluid it was even more difficult to drive with the window all cover in ice. The staff not so friendly I ended up driving back after I couldn’t drive it in the snow, no traction whatsoever. I rented a small vehicle next day (old cargo van) but it was ok. I managed to finish my moving after a stressful two days
CLAUDIO PThe car was dirty overall, filled with used plastic bottles in every door pocket, food wraps, bloody facial tissues, gloves, etc Sticky steering wheel, dirty seats. I had to use sanitizing wipes before using a vehicle. Dirty windshield and side view mirrors.

JOHN RLady at pick up desk doesn’t have customer service skills at all. Very mean. When I dropped key the same day. I asked her if I can get receipt. She meanly she’s “nope”. “We email you”. Before I even finish my next question. She said “just drop key on basket. We check tomollow! I wouldn’t recommend this location at all. Even with stranger.

JIN SHad an issue with a broken spot mirror. Fortunately I had, upon on the agent's recommendation I had taken CDW insurance. The matter was dealt with in an expedited and satisfactory manner. Many thanks.
WAYNE SSubject: Complaint – Rude Manager and Poor Service at U-Haul Thornhill (100 Steeles Ave W Unit 15A) To U-Haul Customer Service / Head Office, I’m writing to report a negative experience at your location at 100 Steeles Ave W, Unit 15A, Thornhill, ON L4J 7Y1, mainly due to the behavior of the branch manager. She was rude, dismissive, and made no real effort to help fix an issue that came from how my reservation was handled. After this happened, I checked the Google reviews for this branch and saw many similar complaints about rude staff and a “not our problem” attitude. Combined with the feedback emails I keep getting from U-Haul, it feels like head office knows there is a problem at this location but hasn’t taken effective action. Two days before my move, I went into this branch in person and booked a truck and a dolly. I clearly said I needed the dolly for heavy items, and it was added to my reservation. No one told me that dollies are “first come, first served” or that they are not actually guaranteed, even when reserved. Early on the morning of my move, I stopped by the branch and confirmed my reservation. There were dollies visible on site. While the manager was reviewing my booking and talking with me, she still didn’t say anything about the dolly possibly not being available later or my reservation being uncertain. Later that same day, when I came back to pick up my order, I was suddenly told there was no dolly, that tools are “first come, first served,” and that the branch was not responsible. This was the first time anyone had mentioned this policy, despite my in-person booking specifically to avoid last-minute surprises on moving day. The manager’s attitude was the worst part. She was blunt and rude, didn’t apologize, and showed no concern about how this affected my move. She didn’t try to call another location, didn’t check for alternatives, and didn’t offer any practical help. Her only response was that they were “not responsible,” and the conversation basically ended there. As a customer who booked ahead, in person, this felt completely unfair and disrespectful. Because of this, my reservation was not honoured the way it was presented to me, the equipment policy was never explained when I made my decision to rent from U-Haul, and I was left with extra stress and difficulty on an already stressful day. I’m asking U-Haul to review the manager’s conduct and the way this branch is being run, to ensure that any “not guaranteed” equipment policies are clearly explained at the time of booking (especially for in-person reservations), and to actually address the ongoing negative feedback that is clearly visible in the public reviews. ALIREZA HI will definitely reach out for a full refund. The truck does not start properly. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere and had to call my husband to come and help. again in the gas station i was stuck for more than 15-20 minutes because the truck didn't start. the ignition has a major problem. this is not the service i ever recieved in the past

Marianne NThe app is hard tp use, it has wsy too many info to put and takes a long time until you get to the end. The lady at the front desk looked like she does not want to be there and kept disapearing. It took me almost 1 hr to be able to get the truck. When one is pressed for time that is a turn off. Also, the bill at the end was way, way higher than expected. Not ok!

DOMENICO BAdvise/train employees how to deal with customers who sign up for your ‘online’ service, but turn up(simultaneously) to access the ‘in-person’ service.
COLIN NHave rented there before. Front desk employees could be friendlier and more engaged. Sometimes feel like you are interrupting them when you go in.

SINA MStaff at this location were not very helpful and on return were rather rude. The inside of the trailer was covered in a grease substance from the previous renters cargo. The grease got all over our hands while loading and strapping. Got onto our load and straps as well and made grabbing on the hooks rather difficult. It’s is absolutely un acceptable the condition this trailer was in.

WAYNE SI called a week before the pick up the agent said all is fine just pick it up with out mentioning the self serve pick. up.I am with 4 costumer service unfortunately they did not resolve it .The tire monitor always alarming and the engine is low power.

NAVID Swashing fluid reservoir was completely empty upon pickup. obviously not noticed until it was necessary to use. this oversight proved inconvenient and under certain circumstances maybe dangerous. otherwise vehicle was brand new and excellent.
WAYNE SThe van itself was dirty, thick layer of dust on all surfaces. Crumbs, the windshield was dirty with smudges on the inside and outside. No Washer fluid - I tried a few times The customer service was lacking, I wasn’t shown the van I was given the key with a code on it and told to go find it. There was no safety check. And if that wasn’t enough once I got to my destination to load the van I found a knife in the back. Yes a literal knife just left in the back of the van for lord knows how long. All in all the worst rental experience I’ve ever had.

DEBEBE YCargo space of the truck had debris. The cabin had empty water bottles and it smelled terrible. I had to use lysol to clean areas before driving.
MEHMAN TI rented 1 dolly and a dozen of pads. I got charged for a missing dolly but I brought it back on the return day. I need my money back!
