the vehicle provided was very old and had terrible gas mileage. The fuel costs were way too high for a standard rental

The attendant did nothing to help me with the pickup or explain anything about the vehicle (like the gauges were in US measure). she seemed bothered that she had to work.

Kamyar DAt this location, I had added a dolly to the rental. When I got there, the attendant told me they don't have dolly's at this location. They took it off the rental, which is fine, but the system should indicate what is and what is not available at a particular location. This is my only observation, the people at the desk are perfectly fine and in and out is pretty quick when you prepare your check in , in advance.
Pierre HI rented a U-Haul truck from this location yesterday to move some furniture, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. First, the truck was extremely dirty. The windows were dirty, and the entire cargo area in the back was filthy. Once I started loading my furniture, I could clearly see how dirty the inside of the truck actually was. More importantly, the truck had serious mechanical issues. The transmission was not functioning properly, the truck would suddenly stop, and it was extremely difficult and unsafe to drive. This is a serious safety concern, especially when transporting furniture and driving on the road. Another major issue was the fuel charge. I drove only 28 miles and personally put approximately $25 worth of gas into the truck. However, when I returned the vehicle, I was still charged for approximately 10 additional litres of fuel. I find it extremely difficult to understand how a truck could consume that much fuel for only 28 miles, especially after I had already refueled it. When I raised these concerns with the staff at the location, instead of taking responsibility or trying to help resolve the issue, I was simply told that it had nothing to do with them and that I should contact U-Haul Customer Service. That response was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend avoiding renting a vehicle from this location. The condition of the truck was unacceptable, the mechanical problems created a serious safety concern, and the customer service provided no meaningful assistance when I raised these issues. I would not recommend this location to anyone.
