We rented a 15feet truck but we received call 2hours before pickup that it's going to be late so we should pickup at 11:30 am instead of the scheduled 10 am. When we arrived at the location 15 feet truck was still not available and we were offered 10 feet. so we have to do two trips instead of one. The location is not actual U haul its just a repair shop renting u haul so thay dont have backups. I wont use this location again.Avinash C.

It took me almost two hours just to get the truck. There is no U-Haul office at the location, I ordered the mobile pickup and drop off. I found the right truck but the pick up in the mobile app was not working while the connection was fine, the U-Haul customer service took 30 minutes of waiting and another 30 of talking and was not able to help. We had to drive to the nearest U-Haul office to be told not to use the app but to use the web browser instead. Then with the silly multi step verification (call to a friend, picture of a lease, picture of a passport ) and a dozen of pictures of every dent and scratch on the truck body, another 30 minutes were wasted. Overall very poor experience, I'll avoid U-Haul as much as possible in the future.Nikolay A.

Poorly designed website, unclear/contradictory instructions for reservation, pick up AND return, and took over an hour to complete "self" check in. Also pet hair in vehicle -- fortunately, we're not allergic, but it's still not pleasant.Teresa B.

The online web check in was horrible. I tried to check in using the website, and I provided two phone numbers for reference, and it didn't work. I had to online chat with a representative, who said I had to talk to an in person rep. I called a phone rep, and it took forever to get onto them. The whole check in took 45 minutes, when it should have been quick. I was pretty disappointed that the phone check in didn't work. Once I went to the in person check in, that was pretty quick.Risha M.

It was a gas station where we had to return the truck. We weren't quite sure if we had returned to the right location. If the rental agreement had forewarned us about the return location being a Gas station/Workshop we wouldn't have been confused.Krishna P.

The truck was filthy upon receipt. I paid for a pack of disposable pads and they were ripped open and half used. In this time during Covid it was really disappointing. I won't pick up from that location ever again.Jill B.
1. Confusing location, should be called "Valero station in front of China Wok" 2. Checking out the truck was a pain. If you needed all these forms of secondary ID and contact information, then you should've advised me before I got there 3. Signage is poor , parking not great. I only knew I was in the right spot bc I saw the uhaul truck I had reserved but otherwise just looks like a normal gas station. a good sign stating Uhaul rental location would be helpful as would signage about parking.Leslie V.

I definitely recommend photographing your start and end gas tank, with the odometer in the pic. My initial printout said the tank had more gas than it did, and I got billed for gas even though I had returned the tank to the original level AND told the Uhaul guy the correction about the proper gas amount. He still billed me for top-off though, so I submitted a complaint and asked for a gas refund. Just CYA and photograph pickup and drop off amounts!Laura G.

I said I didn't want anything extra added . He specifically asked me do you need or want the insurance on it. I said no thank you. And what did he do, he added the most expensive one . Nice way to stick it to your customers. I will never use uhaul again for anything. And will tell all my friends and family to never use you guys. And to go with a competitor .Johnpaul A.

There was no sign that said UHAUL so it was hard to find location. Manager called to ask that I come early even though I made a reservation for 11am. My original quote of $47.85 got bumped about 20 bucks more! Why?!! I'm not happy.Natalie S.

We planned to pick up the U-Haul in Mountain View and drop it off in San Francisco for around $170. In Mountain View, when picking up the U-Haul we were told we should bring it back to Mountain View because they needed the truck. We were told it would not cost us any more to do this. We were planning to go back to Mountain View the next day by train anyway, so we agreed to bring the truck back there that evening instead. When we dropped the truck off that evening using the U-Haul website drop-off feature, we were charged an extra $163.00 (largely for mileage), effectively doubling the price of the rental we had agreed. You can help by refunding this extra payment that we feel tricked into paying, and being more upfront and transparent about pricing with customers.Karina E.
The person helping us with pick-up was friendly, but the person handling the return was rude and utterly unhelpful. At pick-up, we didn't notice that the tank was not full, and we had to pay extra to fill up the tank.Steve C.
Parking was a little confusing. There weren't designated spots for the vans, they were just along a side wall. There were many old/damaged cars taking up most of the parking spaces. I ended up just parking the van along a wall which may or may not have been a parking spot.Jessamyn M.

Disgusting. Location was more or less a junkyard attached to a gas station. Nobody there after hours, so checking your truck in takes over 20% of your phone battery, loads of cell phone data, and is just overall frustrating. Uhaul did not answer after almost 10 minutes on hold so there was no other option. Did NOT feel safe dropping off a truck alone. Location needs to be cleaned up or closed. Because of this place I won't be renting with Uhaul again. Too many other options that don't charge me AND make me do all the work for the company, and don't send me to a junkyard.Suzi A.

My gas meter was wrong. The document originally said I had 1/2 tank full, but the photo showed 3/4 tank. As soon as I drive the car, the gas meter dropped to 1/2. I ended up having to pay extra $20 to fill the gas tank up to 3/4.Hsing-Hao C.

Gentleman that runs this location is fantastic! Thank You for helping me complete the equipment rental after such a horrible rental app fail! Sorry UHaul, scrap the app! I've tried it twice and it is a compete failure! First time I tried to use the app, I had to wait in rental line to meet with rep despite using app. Then take selfies and all the other non-sense. Second time I was told I had to provide two other people that rep could contact to verify who I was! I'm 52 years old, have rented through you before and provided you with huge amounts of info about myself yet I am sending selfies and then having to wait while you call two family members to verify who I am? Really?! Total Fail!James P.
1) Sign in process took too long - 25 minutes. Some of that was because I had to choose 2 people that the UHaul contact had to call before approving the rental. This was a surprise because I didn't have to do that the other time I used a neighborhood location. Fortunately, those 2 people happened to be available. I don't know what I would have done if they had not been. 2) I had to pick up the key inside the auto repair shop. I don't know how I would have obtained the key if the repair shop had not been open.Mike F.
