The elderly man working didn't know I was coming, told me the truck I needed had a flat tire in attempt to get me to leave. He didn't know how to enter my information in the computer and every time he tried to call U-Haul he would get aggravated and throw the phone. He had plaques up for 40 years of service with U-Haul and he definitely came across as though he'd never done it before. He was the only person working. Imagine my frustration after driving an extra 40 minutes from the place I'd made a reservation with more than a week in advance, only to get there and be talked to like I was crazy. It took over an hour to pick up the U-Haul and trailer.justin M.

Racist!!! More equipment should be available in Mullins Sc. Why did I have to go a hour away to get what I needed it. With no hassle. I went here first. Called they told the equipment was in. Got there it was there. They made me pull on the side of business. To wait for some guy who after 30 minutes still hadn't arrived. Came back an hour later and the guy I spoke to on the phone said he still wasn't back. I needed to move furniture but was discriminated against because I'm black and live near myrtle beach and it was black bike week and everybody assumed that's why I needed a truck.april G.

This is an old, small service station, and Mr. Baxley was very nice and tried hard to please. But the vehicle selection was limited--I had to take a 15-foot truck vs. the 10-foot truck I reserved. The front wheels were badly out of balance and shimmied severely above 60 MPH over the entire 300-mile trip. Besides Mr. Baxley, the biggest positive was the convenience of pickup at that location.fred T.
My wife, Rose Birtha, rented a trailer from Baxleys Service Center on 04/02/2016,(Which she had already reserved and submitted a credit card). When she arrived at Baxleys to pick up the trailer the facility was closed. My wife called the U-Haul 1800 number to see if she needed to go to another U-Haul rental agency to pick up the trailer she reserved, and she was told by the agent that she could take the one at Baxleys (refer to recordings associated with contract # 27696301). On her way to our house to drop of furniture she received a call from someone at Baxleys Service Center saying she stole the trailer and that she was going to be arrested for theft. This person told my wife that the police would be waiting for her at our home to arrest her. The breakdown in communication between the U-Haul agent and the representative at Baxleys Service Center happens in business. I work in a professional setting and I understand that sometimes communication between people is not always at its best. What I find appalling in this situation is the following: â€¢ unprofessional conduct of the representative at Baxleys Service Center in threating my wife (Who had reserved the trailer and submitted a credit card) without knowing all of the facts â€¢ My wife called the 1-800 number several times trying to find out what was going on, but she was hung up on by each agent. â€¢ My wife had to go the another U-Haul center to resolve the situation, at which time that agent was explaining to the representative at Baxleys Service Center that the trailer was already reserved, but the Baxley's representative continued to threaten my wife with arrest Because my wife paid for the services of the trailer, and returned it, if law enforcement shows up at my home to arrest my wife, I will take legal action against U-Haul and Baxleys Service. Someone from U-Haul and Baxleys Service Center owns my wife an apology for the unprofessional way she was treated by both organizations. Someone from U-Haul may want to think about their customer relations policies and how this situation with my wife is going to be made right. My Wife's phone number is in U-Haul's system and I expect for someone to give her a call (and in writing) stating how the U-Haul organization is going to make this situation right with my wife. When i got to uhaul, they didn't have the truck that i had reserved. They then charged me for a 15 footer truck . They then swiped my credit card for $100. over the quoted uhaul online price. I reserved the truck 2 days before the pickup date. When i got to uhaul, it took them one hour to complete the transaction, unbelievable. In the end, they couldn't even print out me a receipt. I had to end up calling uhaul customer service and let them resolve the problem.Jerry J.

I know this location has been a uhaul contractor for over 40 years but it is time for a change. The man that operates it should retire. I'm not saying he is bad it's just that he has a hard time getting things done. I have never rented a trailer there that I didn't have some kind of a problem. This time it was lights. He said it was the plug on my truck. I told him I had a trailer on it last week and it worked fine. Changed the Wiring Harness on the Trailer and it worked fine.Brett D.

Just a Very Small Town U-Haul is run through the 1 Gas Station In-Town. So it's Nothing Fancy but Mr. Baxley certainly was very Helpful and Equipment was Like New Condition & Ready to Go... Great Experience for where I was & what I needed on a Saturday. I Couldn't have Rented a Full-Sized Trailer for Towing My Wife's Car 1 Way to Charleston 3 hours away w/o driving another 30 to 40 miles to get a trailer. Thank You !CHRISTOPHER M Y.

The gentleman who owns and operates this location does not know how to operate a computer. I was there over 2 hours trying to pickup my rental and I was the only customer. I ended up being overcharged and had to contact the regional office to correct the billing. I will definitely look for other options the next time I move instead of using uhaul. Very disappointed.TONY H.

I had one problem after another and it costs me more than it should have. I have not received the $50 dollars that was supposed to be credited to my account because I went to pick up the truck and they were not open. then when I did pick the truck he did not at the dolly and I really believe that I was over charged. The gas was not even recorded right. I am not happy with U-haul at this point due to the overall experience.JOAN T.

Both times I've been in this place I never get out of there in under 30 minutes. It's crazy. They don't know how to work the computer, they had me worried about the milage because he wrote the wrong number down. They shouldn't be doing Uhaul things.HANA J.

The man running the station where we pick up the truck did not know what he was doing. I had to show him on the coumpter what to do. Also he would not go over the truck with us. There was damage to the truck. That I had to call and report. WILL NEVER US U_Haul againkristel W.

It was a bit more then the estimate said it would be. I chalked it up to sales tax of about 40 bucks. Also the mileage did not take into account that with I385 closed northbound until August the mileage to where I was going increased and then the added mileage to drive to the nearest available location ran me slightly over my allotted amount.
