Not lie to the customer. I was told it was a flat rate for the day by the gentleman who gave me the key. He said he took extra for cover the fees for mileage. When I return it the next day I had an extra 209 charged to my account which I was told at time of pickup that something like that would not happen because he took out 109 on my account instead of the 35. Poor customer service. No help. Told they would not! Honor what that man said. I was scammed. I will not recommmed uhaul to anyone! And will just ask a friend with a truck from now on! Very disappointed. Should have just went with pod!

The way the charges are taken out of your account is ridiculous. They hit my car 3 times causing me to overdraft my accounts. All bc they couldn’t bill it all at one and together.

I had a 9:00 am appointment to pick up a 10' box truck. I arrived at the location at 8:50. The U-Haul website says the location opens at 8. The place was locked up and no one was on the property. I call customer service, they in tern called the location manager. No response. He finally arrived at 9:20. This location is also a convenience store. The manager proceeded to wait on all his regular customers and I waited till they were all served, then he started the paperwork. I was annoyed because I had a crew of ten men waiting at my apartment to move me. Very frustrating. Will not rent from U-Haul again. At least not from this location.

I paid for gas, filled the tank to where it needed, confirmed with pictures and showed rep. Was still charged the $18 it would have been to fill it because of the confusing texts making it seem like you can check in online, I did not complete the online check in as we were at the gas station drop off and took it to the clerk. Still charged my card

Horrible! I didn’t sign any papers everything was extremely sketchy the guy lied to me about the mileage rate and I as ringing up other customers while trying to get me keys and do whatever he was doing. Then when I finally got into the truck I rented the check engine light was on. I went back in and told the guy and asked for another truck and he told me I’d be fine not to worry. If I broke down uhaul could come and help me!

This rating isn’t necessarily fair to the location itself but rather UHaul’s services. We had no issues with this specific location 381 W High St. We were scheduled to drop off at a different location and called UHaul to confirm right before we dropped off. Once we got to the location, they were closed and had a sign that said “UHaul isn’t here anymore.” So we called back and a different woman told us they were, indeed closed, and sent us to a different location. She seemed rude on the phone when we were the ones inconvenienced by UHaul’s mistake.

I reserved a dolly. I did not receive a dolly and was told I wouldn’t be charged for it. I was- $7 rental and now $23.89 for it. Spoke to the manager about this and still have yet for it to be resolved. I did not receive the dolly!

Uhaul changed my reservations pickup from phoenixville to norristown over the phone prior to date of pick up. On day of pickup, after waiting a half an hour, was told they could not provide the reserved vehicle because the employee did not know how to fix an error in the system. I then had to drive out to Pottstown, wasting another hour on moving day. The customer service of norristown is nonexistent and competence is incredibly low.

I’ve been swindled by uhaul. They changed my pick-up location to over an hour away, promised me 200 more free miles on my rental and magically disregarded. The absolute best part is that it is now impossible to dispute or even get anyone on the phone.

I would never use this location ever again I’ve used U-Haul before but I would never use this particular location the gentleman was rude when I got there he said that my truck was picked up by my husband I don’t have a husband he redid my contract and added what he wanted my contract to be which wind up costing me more he just really act like he just did not want to service me at all and doing my contract online I requested for appliance dolly I got there there was no appliance dolly available for me which meant I had to drive the U-Haul burning up the mileage and the gas looking for an appliance dolly which to me as a consumer which is not fair

We arranged and paid for for the rental of moving blankets and dollies when planning for the truck, and did everything we could on our end to secure these through U-Haul. We arrived at the pick-up location to find out that they did not have any of these things for us, and had to ask to have them taken off of our bill. Had we known this would be the case and moving supplies would not available or guaranteed, we would have been able to take care of getting them elsewhere prior to the move by ourselves. But because this wasn't communicated by email or phone prior to the pickup when the truck was confirmed, we had to conduct an entire move WITHOUT having them. It made the move far more painful than it had to be, even though we did everything we could on our end to plan for it. This is an enormous oversight on U-Haul's part. If you offer these items for rent, you are responsible for having them - pure and simple. If you can't follow through, take them off the list of services you provide. Whatever the case, don't create unnecessary problems for the renter because you can't follow through - it's infuriating and makes one reconsider whether they will use you again in the future.

once we rented the truck and drove a couple of hours, we noticed the smell of oil. We pulled over and discovered that the engine oil fill cap missing and this was allowing oil to blow out. the engine was over 2 quarts low, we replaced the oil and we placed a beverage cap on the oil fill tube and taped it up which held and stopped the lose of engine oil.

The battery died when I got in the uHual to return it to its location. It took 35 minutes at 3000 RPM to actually get the battery to charge enough so that we could turn it on. Major inconvenience!

What u rented and what I got was not the same. I ended up being sent to 3 U-Haul locations, was told that I would have to rent a 15 ft truck which was more money than the 10 ft. This resulted in me having to pay for further milage. When I called reservations, I spoke with a Danielle who was noticably irritated over the phone. She told me that "the best that she could do was charge me $1 a mile and she would put in for rental refund of $50 once I returned the equipment". When I asked, how the gentleman at the counter was going to know this her reply was "um..because I am going to out it in the note?". I do not see my refund on the receipt that I received today. Furthermore, I returned the equipment at 5pm on Saturday. I got a text Monday morning that I did not return the equipment. When I called again, I got Danielle on the phone and did not want to talk to her. I am kindly requesting that another representative from U-Haul with call me or refund me the $50 as Danielle and I discussed on Saturday. Thank you

I can’t say how horrible these people are. They didn’t rent me a dolly, but charged me for it Said they’d take it off bill and when I asked for a receipt they told me to get the hell out. I can’t stress enough how nobody I know will ever rent a uhaul the job took me 90. Mins longer because they forgot to put a dolly on the truck I’ve called my bank cause the man says he decides what someone pays. Awful is putting my experience mildly

My location got changed 3 times from the one I selected which resulted in a larger distance than initially planned. I also had to wait for over 20 minutes to obtain the vehicle because they could not locate the key- I was initially charged over $80 when picking up the vehicle. I did not get to use the vehicle for the entire 4 hours as planned and had to move quicker just to return it before the return time. My time moving items was wasted by having to driver further than I originally scheduled for plus having to wait for my vehicle despite arriving at the time of getting the vehicle.

Almost couldn’t tell it was a U-Haul drop off if it wasn’t for the 2 Uhauls in the rear of the building. Drop of felt shady and unprofessional. No closure, no receipt verifying you dropped off the vehicle with the clerk. Your entire process for renting a vehicle needs a massive overhaul. It’s so poorly designed.

Online drop off in is incredibly slow and tedious. I also filled the gas tank generously and was still charged a measly 26 cents for 0.6 mile. Ridiculous in my opinion.

I reserved my truck for a location in Perkiomenville but uhaul changed it to somewhere in Pottstown which was very inconvenient for me on moving day. It was very out of the way. I would recommend that if a customer needs a truck at a certain location, that is where they can get it.

The vehicle was very nasty there was ashes from a cigarettes on the dash and the driver's side door and there was used napkins in the cup holder and on the floor and the floor in the vehicle was muddy so I took pictures of the vehicle and went back inside and show them to the clerk and he acted as if he didn't care he told me that the vehicle should have been cleaned out and to just bring it back just as it is and I told him that it was unacceptable for the vehicle to look like that and he told me to take it or leave it the choice was mine but I didn't have a choice because I had taken off from work that day to be able to move and there wasn't any other vehicles available near me so I had to clean the vehicle out in order to use it which also took up time because I had to return the vehicle back that same day to avoid a late fee. I will never rent from this place ever again there was no customer service whatsoever.

My truck was not available when I attempted to pick it up at the scheduled time at the Lancaster, PA location. The person there directed me to the Pottstown location to pick up a different truck for my move. It was frustrating and anxiety inducing since everything had to happen that day. However my issue was resolved as quickly as possible. I was told the truck designated for my rental did not get dropped off that week for me and a replacement was found an hour away. Not ideal but I had no other options. The Pottstown location was run out of a Sunoco. The place is fine. But it serves mostly as a gas station convenience store. No major complaints.

Where I had to pick up the U-Haul truck location was horrible. Stated to the employee I had reservations through U-Haul. Still insisted he needed my credit card and ID. Then after stating 3 times do not charge me for insurance in which I declined. Later to find out I was charged against my will. I need to speak with a customer service representative ASAP

I did not know that my reservation would be cancelled if I did not pick up within an hour of the reservation time. This was annoying, and it took about an hour to sort out, until I had the truck. Since it was just a pickup location, there wasn't anyone there to help, so I called your customer support number and it took forever to get someone on the phone.
