Received text message about an hour before I planned to drop off the trailer at this location stating I could no longer drop the trailer off there because they were too full. I chose this location for drop off and paid extra to have a one way trailer, and rented a different item altogether to ensure drop off at this location. So not dropping it off here was a massive inconvenience. I was told to call customer service which took an hour, and was then told I wouldn’t get a refund for the one—way purchase, and was given a different location with a 10.5mile round trip addition. I didn’t have insurance due to the originally scheduled short distance, didn’t want to risk additional driving that I wasn’t planned to do, and wasn’t offering a refund or compensation for that additional mileage. Ultimately customer service spoke to David at elkridge who allowed me to drop the trailer off as originally scheduled.

Signage at the entrance door would be helpful. We didn’t see anything to indicate which door was the entrance to the U-Haul office and walked past it when we first arrived. The man at the desk was exceptionally friendly, polite, and helpful. I give the staff a 5-star rating!

DOUGLAS GI recently traveled from New Jersey to Maryland after my father’s passing to transport some large items from his home. Since I was unfamiliar with the area, I stopped at this U-Haul location to rent a truck and trailer. I was initially assisted by a new employee who was still learning the system. While he was doing his best, another representative attempted to turn me away, stating twice, “We are very busy on Saturdays and we don’t have the truck or trailer you need.” That response was disappointing, especially given the circumstances I was in. Thankfully, two other employees stepped in. They guided the new employee through the computer system and worked together to locate where I could obtain the equipment I needed. Instead of leaving me with a dismissive “we’re too busy” answer, they ensured I left with clear direction and real assistance. I greatly appreciate the patience and professionalism of the two employees who went out of their way to provide true customer service while also supporting their colleague in training. Although the initial interaction was frustrating, their teamwork and willingness to help turned the experience around for me.

DOUGLAS MThe Truck was clean, hard to get it into reverse and drive. Plus I think I left my keys in the truck when I dropped it off. The office was closed before 3 as noted. there was a sign that said to text them if there are any issues, I tried to call the number and sent several text messages about needing to find my keys, I finally got a text message back and they said I had to wait until Monday that the U-Haul part was closed. Now its Monday Ive called and send a few text messages with no reply still and it says they are open at 10am. This is very frustrating, The service is terrible.

FRANCISCO VThe online app check-in process was NOT clear. The "Next Steps" was a slide up or double tap option on a mobile device. It was not intuitive that that needed to be done. "Next steps" should have been a button. Also, when I was returning the truck, my phone's Location was having a problem so I had to call to report the truck returned.
