The trailer being rented is unfit and unsafe. The location did not provide the the cable to be hooked up for trailer lights and claimed that this is how it has always been and people have been renting it out the way it was all the time. It's a big safety concern. I had to take the trailer, drive to closest uhaul location to purchase the wire to be able to safely haul the trailer.Rasit Y.

Arrived at 2 upton road (esso) for 9:00AM as the van was reserved for 11:00AM for a move out as the elevator had to be booked. Waited at 2 Upton (Esso) for 40 minutes talking with the store manager multiple times only to tell me the van is not available. Received calls from 2 customer service reps (uhaul) telling me the reservation has been moved to Downtown Storage (Cherry St) then on my way there got another call telling me the van is now available at 787 Warden.. went to 787 Warden and had to wait another 20 mins for them to open at 11:00 AM. Got the van at around 11:20AM. I was charged a late fee from my condo conceirge for being more than an hour late to confirm my elevator. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with Uhaul. The last cx service rep I spoke to told me I would compensated for my time, inconvenience the DAY OF MOVING, and poor support. I almost was left without a vehicle.. absolutely unacceptable and poor service. I am definitely requesting for compensation of some sort.David K.

When I drop up and call the Location to speak about the return the guy hand up the phone on my face.......I went back to the Location to pay the outstanding fee .. this guy was only talking on his phone said I have to asked my new supervisor what to do.. i booked at 9:30 .. the place open at 10:15 .. i got van at 10:30 . the service person was not friendly. the fuel was not full and it was in the middle . i paid more refuelling. i drove for 31 km and filled 20$ fuels . this is one of worst experiences i've had.Venkat Sri K.

Was told after my pickup time that my truck wouldn't be ready for another 2 hours. Was then told at the new pickup time that "The U-haul guy won't be in until noon today" at which point I demanded they figure it out because I already lost half my time for my elevator booking. The trucks engine sounds like it's about to drop out of the front and is screaming about it constantly. It did work, got my stuff moved, and I was clenching cheeks the entire drive. When I went to drop it off, the same people were incredibly useless and unhelpful. Finally, My online check-out listed my mileage at 100 miles more than what I drove (124, instead of 24, and yes I have photos). It asked if I had any reason to disagree with the charges, to which I detailed that part, and said I would hear from someone within 2 days. 10 days later and all I got was an e-mail with my receipt and a link to this review. From start to finish, this entire U-haul experience was a royal screw up on your part, and all I was offered was a slight discount on the price-per-mile I had to pay. The truck wasn't ready for my drop-box pick-up, the staff was massively useless and unhelpful, and the truck itself sounds like it hasn't had a tune-up in about 14 years. If I could rate my experience any lower than 1 star, I would. This was a pathetic experience. Pathetic.Michael S.

But then surprised me at the last minute by saying I had to go out to Scarborough to pick up. That was an extra hassle I didn't appreciate on moving day :-(David V.
A truck not cleaned and a flat tire and engine issue. After all I had the truck for three days and being charged for 4 days, mileage for less than 60 KM but charged for more than 200 KM, double fuel charge and ......, hopefully they adjust the charge otherwise I will file a lawsuit not only for my money also for the process which is a fraud.Hamid H.

Booking was changed by 2.5 hours with ~12 hours notice and the full booking process had to be done again in store. I chose the truck share option for the convenience and contactless pickup/ drop off. Staff at the location did not wear masks during the in-store portion of the transaction.Scott D.

I had a confrontation with the man there over the price as it seemed wrong to me. I also questioned their covid protocols. He got very angry. I swore. And he proceeded to lose his mind ranting and swearing and screaming at me (with another customer in his store at the time). Never in my life have I encountered a more rude and hostile business. He carried on for 5 minutes following me into the parking lot still screaming and swearing at me. I think you need to reconsider dealing with this store. This man is a danger to society. Vehicle was given in a bad condition. The guy made me wait for 50 minutes for no reason. When we asked to give keys his response was he will extend the time for one hour as he made us wait. Update your outlets when a reservation comes through. Ended up at warden location because 2370 danforth location was closed on arrival, despite booking van in advance. Original reservation was for 1130, didn't get loading until after one pm due to lack of communication. Uhaul redirected me to warden location, where all was great.michelle Y.
U-Haul Contract 27561476 I am utterly disappointed by the pickup agents' services. I had schedule of pick up at 11:30 am. The location has been updated three times within an hour. Moreover, the first agent did't even show up and the office was closed. I was told to go to the second location with confirmation of availability of vehicle. The agent was there this time but there was no truck available. Finally I found the truck at around 12:45 pm at the third location. The vehicle was not cleaned and smelled of raw meat. Although I had a refund as a promised money-back for failure to provide vehicle on time, sometimes it is not worth the time being wasted. I would suggest the integrity of communications between U-haul and the agents should be improved.Rahgir F.
They did not have a truck and could not of cared less about helping me. Not sure why uhaul authorizes this location. After half an hour on hold I was told to call another number. Then another 15 minutes on. Finally told we're a truck could be found. Arrived there to find it was not available because it was full of ice makers. I ended up unloading the truck so I could take it. I was now 2.5 hours behind schedule. This is ridiculous. Not impressed with how this was handled. This should not have become my problem to solve the original location should have helped me not just shrugged their shoulders and tell me to call the 1-800 number.Christy S.

The guy that rented the van to me was not nice at all. The van was so dirty inside, I found used masks, towels and tissues all over the inside of the van, and there was absolutely no gas in the van. I was scared that I was not even going to make it to the gas station. And to top it off, he tried to rip me off by saying that I traveled over 100 KM when I only went 6 KM, and I have the pictures to prove it. If this the the type of people that U-Haul has to represent them, I will never use U-Haul ever again. Very bad experience.Brad K.

The rental service location has trained its staff to lie to customers about mandatory insurance purchase even if the customer indicates that they have insurance through their own provider. Then when the owner is challenged on it to confirm whether it is Uhaul policy, he says you have to call the corporate Uhaul line to get a refund. Terrible experience. I would recommend Uhaul re-evaluate the license provided to this vendor and contact me for a follow on discussion about my terrible experience.Sasha S.

I did the online check-in with the UHaul share program, and when I arrived to pick-up the app told me I couldn't pick-up my vehicle outside of business hours. The location was unreachable. Wasted 45 minutes on hold with various UHaul customer service number to finally get the keys to my vehicle. Alot of unecessary stress on the day of my move. More importantly, do not try to charge a cleaning fee to a client when they report that the vehicle is dirty when they pick it up, and then again when they return it. Given the current situation with covid-19, I was hoping that U-haul would live upto its social responsibilities and would maintain basic hygiene for all of its vehicles being rented out. The vehicle rented to me had food waste all over it in the driving area, was filled with garbage in the loading area. Had I not been in a situation where I needed a moving vehicle, no matter what, I would not even touch the vehicle, leave aside wanting to drive it. I also made the mistake of not noting down the miles on the vehicle, since as a first time user I trusted the services like I do with other car rental agencies out there. But I ended up getting a harsh realisation that trust is not the best trait to have, especially when dealing with U-haul. I am sure that I have not driven it around for more than 50-60 kms whereas the final settlement that I have received says that I have used it well beyond 100 kms. All this was on top of the fact that I was given the wrong pick up location for the rented vehicle and I had to run around, make calls and figure it out on my own about where exactly I need to get the vehicle from. All in all the worst first time experience anyone can ever have. U-haul has certainly lost me and my family as their customer, NEVER going to rent again!Rohit A.

Perhaps this location should be advised of the online process because they wouldn't give me a key even after I showed them the rental agreement and the instructions to get a key out of a lockbox. As I couldn't leave the star rating blank to indicate no stars, I had to put one. My experience with Uhaul at the 787 Warden Ave. location was an absolute nightmare. I have never witnessed such horrible service anywhere in my life. My friends and I have always used Uhaul for our various moves and have never encountered an issue. The Manager, Nick, at this location is rude, dishonest, aggressive and intimidating. We reserved the truck online as it promotes a smooth, quick and easy pick-up, which we've done in the past and the service lived up to its promise. So, when we showed up at 11 a.m. on the dot, there was already a small queue and we were told by a worker that his Manager wasn't there, so we couldn't access our trucks because he's the only one who can access the system. The trucks were all set to go, we could see them, but he couldn't process the order without his Manager. After 40 minutes, the Manager arrived and was not only non-apologetic he lied to our faces and said we should have known better than to schedule a truck for the first of the month! We let him know that we'd been waiting now 45 minutes and only had a certain time frame to access the elevator at the apartment we were moving into. He said none of this is his fault and he couldn't help it that people before us dropped the trucks off late. I noted that we actually walked right by all the trucks and that his employee confirmed that all trucks were set, he just couldn't release the keys. He cursed under his breath in response. This man and the entire Uhaul pick-up location was extremely sketchy and it was obviously an illicit business he was running. The only payment option was to use this ancient Credit Card Swipe Reader that would not show how much was being charged and he would not show me on his computer either saying I'd receive an email with the charge anyway. I told him I was not comfortable using this machine and not knowing what amount was coming off my card. He said that's fine then I don't get the truck, it's up to me. Obviously it wasn't up to me because I needed to move that day and all this had already cut one hour into our time. I later realized he overcharged me and put through two payments and again, said none of this was his fault and it was Uhaul the company that did this....? He said I'd need to call Customer Service to sort things out. All of what he said to us was in a loud voice and he was clearly angry because we caught him out in his lies and his scheming. AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS!!!! I also never intend to use Uhaul after this as they evidently don't check out the sites and the owners.Rebecca L.

I liked the guy who served me. He was friendly. I didn't really like the location - not easy to find, badly signposted, and difficult to park nearby. I had ordered some packing material and loading cart but these were not in the truck. Things were busy with other customers for the store business so I didn't take issue with it at the time. SO, 10/10 for the guy, but overall this was a 5/10 experience.Andrew M.

I ordered the vehicle to be picked up to another location (on St. Clair E). I received an email confirming that it would be at the St. Clair E location. When I arrived, it wasn't there. I tried to call uHaul to see clarity and there was a 45 minute wait time. I never got through to anyone but independently I eventually found out that it was at this Warden station instead. Also, I was told that the the cost of the van would be $19.95/day but my bill indicates otherwise ($89/day). Furthermore, the gentleman at the Warden station indicated that he was not able to answer any of my questions because he just rents the space. He said that he 'doesn't run the business. I would not recommend doing business with this branch. My total was supposed to be $162.00 and these guys tried to charge $266.00 to my credit card. Thanks to the customer service department who was able to determine the issue and refund my money back to me. If I didn't check my bank account I would have paid more than $100 for this rental. People at this branch are crooks and they will try to charge you for things you did not even take. Horrible experience and I'm never going back there again.Irfan R.
I would never recommend this location to anyone as I got cheated. They had me to fill gas to a certain point upon return of the van and I did. But I still got charged for gas on my invoice and I contacted the person there named Nick Dosani and he gave me a run around. He said he would return my money back but never did. I kept calling and messaging him but he stopped answering my calls after he told me he was going to return my money and did not. It's a small amount of money but thats not what upset me. I am upset because is this how you treat your customers? If there is a mistake on the invoice, don't you correct it? The person in charge of UHaul was late for over an hour. When you are renting 20' truck your day has a lot of things that has to be done on time. Because of this delay it was a lot of related issues and ruined plans! Very disappointed!Pavels K.

Was surprised the eve before my 08:00 pickup time with a call from a UHaul area manager to find out I had to do the mobile pickup as their location did not actually open at 08:00. Unhappy with that as I had chosen that location expecting a full service counter as I needed a hand cart/dolly that wasn't on the reservation. Was told it would be in the truck no problem. It took almost 40 minutes to do the mobile pickup (would not have been so bad if I had known in advance and had done the verification portion ahead of time) AND no hand cart. Had to drive to another location at 09:00 to get one and furthermore drive back to that second location to return it as it wasn't part of the truck rental. You have to close this location as the owner is not deserving to run a U-Haul business! I arrived onsite on time and the keys cannot be given to me by his staff members because they don't know about this U-Haul. I spoke with the owner named Nick and said he will be onsite in half an hour; then 1 hour has passed nothing and another 1 1/2 nothing and 2 hours later he finally arrives. I am a patient person, but waiting for 2 hours is unacceptable, I am just observing what he can do for me for waiting that long but nothing. I already fill up everything online ahead but this guy let me wait for another 30 mins because he mentioned about paper works and he has to attend to other customers that is also waiting for him in his store. I understand they want to talk to him about discounts/warranties on a certain item they want to purchase, but He must prioritize the one who booked online, filled up everything and just wants to get the van to rent for that day, Nick doesn't even apologize about what happen. To sum up, Please avoid this location when planning on renting a van try to go somewhere else if you don't want to have a bad experience.Erik John C.
This place is terrible, the business had no heat. It was freezing in there. I reserve the truck but when I got there I had to wait an hour for the rent guy to show up!!! When I got into the truck there was no gas. Upon returning the truck, he did not talk to me n told me to leave keys on table.
