The agent was friendly and helpful. He was very efficient. It seems to be a U-Haul policy to not have the trucks full of fuel. It was less than a quarter of a tank when I picked it up. I filled the tank cost $100. I drove about 220 km and the truck was still over half a tank of fuel. I could not get a refund for the extra fuel I put in. It is almost impossible to correctly judge the correct amount of fuel to put in when the tank is less than a quarter full.at pickup.. all trucks should be a full tank at pickup.

I recommend you have more than one attendant to process the clients first thing in the morning. I was fortunate to be second in a long line and still needed to wait 15 minutes for the client in front as they seemed to have a complex Rental. I was completed in less than 5 minutes. Finding the truck in the yard was a process - it's out there... was the comment. The return was very good without waiting. Still only one attendant on the site.

The equipment was clean however I did not like the fact that I was not able to see how much kilometres I was using. There was a message on the screen the whole time that the rear tire need air. The engine light was on in the truck, so I was concerned that the truck might leave me at the side of the road. I ran the truck because it was $19 a day for the truck no free kilometres at all was given so it ended up costing me just under $400. Next time I would like to try other rental company.

Van was barely driveable. Drove less than 4 km and and you really charged me an extra ten dollars for gas even after I put in some gas. Horrible experience. Going to avoid using uhaul as much as possible in the future.

I had a great experience at the U-Haul location at 303 Dunlop St W in Barrie. The staff were friendly, professional, and made the rental process very easy. The truck was clean, well-maintained, and ready on time. They also explained everything clearly, including how to return the vehicle after hours. Answer the phone, tried numerous times prior to picking truck up during working hours and no answer! Truck was not locked (do you not check the trucks prior to going home after someone's dropped it off) , homeless person inside, vandalized, food, drugs, pills, crackpipes etc brutal experience and I wouldn't have used it except that I didn't have any other options. I went to Tim Hortons and grabbed paper towels, wet them with soap and wiped what I could down, put on covid gloves to drive and put a grocery bag on the seat to drive it.

I used the 24/7 service to pick up my key at 8am, but when I arrived and went through the steps to get my key, the code provided did not work and I could not access the key. I called the customer service line and spoke with someone named Trisha, who asked some questions and put me on a "brief" hold. This hold lasted 15 minutes and then their line ended the call. Totally unhelpful. Thankfully the store employee showed up at 8:30am and helped me get the key. The lock box was so rusted shut, that is why the code did not open it. He had to douse the lockbox in WD40 to crank it open. I was late to meet with my movers. After the move was complete and everything set into my new place, we realized that the box of the truck had a leak in it and many of my furniture and boxes got soaking wet. Luckily none of the wood items were damaged, but my couch stinks from the water.

The employee wasn’t at the location we were given for pick up, when we arrived. After calling a number we were directed to another lot to see him. After completing our paperwork, he told my husband that we would have money refunded if we dropped the trailer off early rather than in two days. We did this in North Bay and were told that we would not be refunded any money as we had been told the day before. The employee in Barrie also didn’t verify that we actually knew how to properly hook up the trailer for towing, which could be extremely dangerous to those that are inexperienced.

I rented a cart and there was already one in the truck that we could of used, that was the only thing, but the gentleman was great especially when I had to book it for another day and was afraid that it was already booked out. I didn't know that you could do everything on the mobile app till the next day. But overall the service was excellent and my son and I got moved. Thank you. Audrey Johnston

Employees are taking pictures of client's personal driver's licenses with their personal phone to upload to the U-hual website or phone application. This is beyond unacceptable and unprofessional. Clients have no idea who these employees are or their capabilities with client's personal information. I will not be using U-hual again and telling anyone that wants to use U-hual to steer very far away. There's too much potential for fraudulent activity at this location. I will be seeking professional instruction moving forward.

the trucks should come with an ice scraper. When I went to get the truck there was over a foot of snow and ice on the cab/windshield. I had been dropped off, so I had no way of removing the ice. Also, when I finally got to where we were moving the furniture, the rear roll-up door was frozen closed. Obviously these trucks are not inspected before they are rented out.

I would NOT recommend U-Haul to anyone your “new “ all online service is a pain to use and U-Haul now offers ZERO customer service anything you need or want you have to find it yourself on the APP This is a great opportunity for somebody to open a rental business similar to yours that offers direct customer service

This is a mixed review. The agent was very good and found him to be much better than others I have dealt with in the past. The trailer I rented was in good shape and well-maintained. The offsite location for pick up needs to be cleaned up. A lot of garbage around the lot. Looks like homeless people use it frequently and also for their washroom.

Rude Employee, was upset that I entered 5 minutes before opening time despite unlocked door. Lied about "roadside assistance not being included" if insurance not purchased. (Roadside is included with all rentals per U-Haul) Trailer extremely rusted & damaged, including wires hanging from frame. Should not be on the road. Had to be replaced by U-Haul at another location.

Have the reservation at the reserved location. Reservation “moved” to a different location an hour before pickup. Didn’t see a 50$ credit anywhere for not having my reservation available as requested. This happened the last time as well in 2020, but I chocked it off to Covid… that said, the employees were helpful and kind at both locations

The staff is friendly and did a good job, I've rented there several times and they always have my rental.. but the truck was not clean. In fact it looked and smelled like it never gets cleaned, just really dirty and grimey. Also, it was like 30C and the AC didn't work, just blowing hot air.

Arrived at 145pm to find a note on the door that it was closed and they would be back at 230pm. When we called the number provided no on answered. Then the person started texting us. We were told to park in this lot, although we had a 20” truck and there was absolutely no room for it. Finally we were told to go around the corner to the Anne St location. This was all over phone and was horrible communication. After pulling around the corner to the lot we parked both the trailer we were returning and the 20’ truck. After asking for someone to come help us no one came. We left the keys in the drop box as this location was closed as well. Someone called us about 20 minutes later to ask what truck number we had returned, we had already left and had no way to confirm this as I had left the paper work at home. After 3 days of moving, heat, yesterdays horrible communication, no apologies offered, and no help, this was a horrendous way to end my move. The Peterborough locations were absolutely great to deal with. Not once were we asked if anything was wrong with the truck or trailer (back driver side light was out the whole way to Barrie), or about gas or anything else. Do better in the future Barrie, I fear I may never use uhaul again.
