I had a number of issues with this U-Haul pickup. I scheduled hours in advance for same day pickup. When I arrive at the location (on time) it’s an Auto Body shop and no one is available for the U-Haul service a man in the shop tells me that we have to call the number and the person who is in charge will then come with the truck. I do as directed and contact the man who then tells me that the previous customer is running behind and that he is on the way to the location right now. He assures me that he will contact the customer and ask for an ETA & will call back ASAP. The first time I say okay and I wait begrudgingly. 15 minutes goes by and I hear nothing, I call he says the same thing 15-20 minutes. By the third time I call I have been waiting almost an hour and I am now aggravated with the lack of communication + professionalism. He tells me that when the previous customer comes he will call me and that I should just leave and return back so I do as directed. He sends me a message from another phone number 5 minutes later saying the customer arrived and I can come back… so I do. At this point it’s well after my initial pick up time. I arrive and the truck is on EMPTY! The light is on and the man advises me to just put $10-$15 in not too much just to get me around and return the truck on EMPTY???!?! I have never had such a horrible and unprofessional experience with UHaul. This is a BEWARE to future people looking for a UHaul rental - this location is unprofessional and not a real UHaul center + 9/10 you will not get your rental on time so if you do want to rent here make sure you’re not a time crunch or you will be late. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND Forgot to mention that when I returned the truck it was not on empty because how am I supposed to gauge how much gas to put in a truck that’s on empty to get me to where I need to go???? I also did not receive a refund for the gas I put in the truck that I did not use. But apart from that I was in constant communication with the person who rented me the truck to let him know that I was on the way to return the truck but nonetheless I arrived there and he was nowhere to be found and did not answer his phone/ texts for 10-15 minutes. He ultimately advised me to hand the keys to another person who was in the shop. This experience was unlike anything I have ever experienced and was not smooth AT ALL. Again I do not recommend!
