Quite acceptable interaction at Chicago station. Also, 18 hours before my contract was up I got a phone call asking if I was returning the truck. And about the same time I got an email from equipment recovery for uhaul saying I could not be contacted and I had not completed my contract a day before the truck was due to be returned. I found this unprofessional and concerning.
Bert WThere was nothing to improve. Everything went great. The two gentlemen were very knowledgeable and helped hook up the trailer and inspected everything for my protection. Great experience
Jeffery CMike and Jessica were Great!! You have two excellent employees. They were kind, friendly and super helpful. I will highly recommend.
Cecilia HThe uhaul workers get paid there’s no reason I should get a $20 drop off fee because I won’t download an app to “check” the truck I dropped off
asia sOnly comment other than the dysfunctional technology is that the attendant mislead us into believing that all we had to do is give him the key. After thinking about it, we had to drive back on-sight to complete the on-line return process.
TIM GSite closed when trailer dropped off. Small Uhaul location, very basic.
Brian Keverything was good.
jose SStaff was friendly and very helpful on a hectic morning
Kathleen EThink twice before doing U-Haul a favor. Two days prior to my rental date, U-Haul contacted me to ask if I would like a free open trailer added to my truck rental to be used for gas grills, yard equipment, etc. I replied thanks, but no thanks. They contacted me again saying they would like to have an open trailer transported from my pick-up point to my drop-off point and offered a $25 credit for my truck rental. Okay, fine. It wasn’t about the money, and so I was willing to help. - Upon picking up, I learned that the damage coverage I purchased for the truck doesn’t cover the trailer. Insurance for the trailer would cost me $24. I was likely to spend more in additional fuel by pulling the trailer behind the rental truck than the $1 I would reap from this nice gesture, but since I previously agreed to pull it to my destination 3 hours away, I continued on. - Oh, and please don’t drop off the trailer in the middle of the night like I prefer to do after unloading. Wait until after they open the next day because trailers tend to walk away. Inconvenience #2. - Strangely, the drop-off destination near my home wasn’t an available selection to the person doing the paperwork at the pick-up point. I knew it was there, and I had dropped off a truck rental 2 years before, so I thought we’d just work it out when I dropped off this rental. “Excuse me,” the woman shouted out the door at me after I slid my key through the drop slot at the drop-off location. “We don’t take trailers here.” I showed her my paperwork and explained the trailer add-on, and everything was just as I said. They were now the proud keepers of a trailer that no one is likely to ever rent from their location. - The trailer I picked up as a favor to U-Haul had been parked beside a stand of pine trees and had gathered a significant amount of dead needles. I didn’t think anything about this until dropping off the truck and trailer and noticed a sign telling me I can receive a $20 charge for not cleaning the rental. Although I dutifully swept the truck before returning it, we’ll see whether they charge me for not cleaning a trailer I didn’t want in the first place, questioned whether I should have insured it for $24, and spent extra gas money…all because I agreed to do them a favor for a $25 credit. Not doing that one again.
Stephen T5x9 trailer needed repairs to wiring which I made. A lot of leaves were inside the trailer including a card board box. Young man at the counter was not experienced or helpful.
David MNo problems whatsoever…. Will use them again if needed…
tim mThis location is just a gas station. It very good service. The guy behind the counter had no training for rental and had to call someone else. They already had our name, but claimed we had no reservations.
Lois BThe person that helped us at the gas station had no idea what he was doing. He charged us for insurance when we had clearly selected no insurance when we ordered the trailer. When we returned the trailer they said we needed to do an online check in...that doesn't exist so I wasted a whole bunch of time and frustration when it wasn't necessary. You might want to trailer someone from that location on how to better work your system. 😊
Rachel HUsually I have great experiences with U-Haul trailers. This trailer leaked and my contents were soaking wet after I got to my destination.
Amanda BDirections were unclear. It took over an hour to speak to a human at Uhaul. What should have taken 15 min to drop off took over an hour.
Michele PNo one there was able to process the rental in or issue a receipt they claim it was because of Covid 🧐🤨
Shelly LInternet was down
Joseph BNew guy checking out had to wait forever until manager came in
Carmen MI had no problem with the location or equipment. The staff was friendly at pickup. Uhaul themselves dropped the ball on this one. I needed to do a self checkout because the store was closed on Sunday. I couldn't remember my password to my account and every time I clicked to get a text or email to reset nothing happened. I would get no text or email for a confirmation number. I tried calling Uhaul only to be told I have 30 minute wait and to do stuff online that I was getting absolutely no help with. I was then charged an extra $20 for being late because your website and customer service suck. I returned the trailer after only having it a few hours.
Matthew AI was charged for a whole extra day because the trailer was 2 hrs late. When I made the reservation there was no set time to return the unit just had to be back that day. Overall the trailer did exactly what I wanted it for. U-Haul should be more considerate of customers that may have been running behind because of traffic or something went wrong and not charge a whole day fee for running late
Thomas HMore selection
William WTrailer was filthy, full of leafs. Explanation of pickup was done over the store phone because uhaul employee was not present. Return of equipment wasnt explained at all. Employee not present. Was not told I had to return online. Ended up incurring a 20$ charge because of employees ineptitude.
Patrick RThe rental rate was quite high, I had the truck for only two hours and paid $69.00. This was $20.00 more than the charge was three weeks ago. I won’t rent a U hall again
harold fKeep up the good work.
James PThis place is too damn busy. I spent 45 minutes trying to get paperwork completed as the girl also ran the cash register plus they had some kind of BBQ fundraiser in the parking lot.
Gerald DThe trailer had a running light out and the license plate was ripped in half. The lady inside was super nice though. Really liked working with her.
Aaron BLocation was fine Equipment fine When I called U-Haul 800 number they were not helpful at all fir the return
scott rI get it - the more automation, the better but dang it all, customer service is still important. There is convenience in using the app for check in and check out. Just not the same happy U-Haul experience without knowledgeable friendly people.
Beverly PNo drop box for keys. The clerk inside the gas station could barely muster a grunt to me and said she'd take the keys. I had no clue if she worked for UHaul dealer or not. I felt like this was the worst position to be in....simply leaving the keys to a $25,000 truck with some random person.
KEVIN EEasy drop off, it’s actually a gas station. But was instructed to leave doors unlocked at drop off?
Katharine GHave a associate with knowledge not charged extra fees without explaining why or what they are foe
Melvin ONo Truck inventory, no moving blankets/pads. No copy of contract. Took way too long (45min).
Gerald TRepresentative was quick and easy to deal with. Had me in and out in less than 5 minutes!
Nathan LGreat, All good.
David CNo inspection was done. Pads had been reserved on the contract, but were not available. I had to go to another location to pick up pads. The truck had not been cleaned.
William ATruck was well maintained, however inside and outside was very dirty. I cleaned the interior so that I didn’t feel like I was sticking to the door, steering wheel, etc. Windshield wipers bad, cleaned all windows and rear view mirrors. Small details that I think could be better.
Jorge dThere is no drop box for key at night
Tina BWas charged more than was quoted...
JOSHUA WI had to kill about a dozen cockroaches before I could load anything!
Christine DWas a very convenient location for me to drop off because it was the closest place to my new house but the man in the store was very short with me and my husband and had a very poor attitude overall. He was not friendly at all! But if I knew someone who was moving close to hear I suppose I would recommend that location only because it’s convenient.
Valerie DTruck had a couple 3 inch holes in the roof. Was very obvious that the people had not inspected the truck when it was returned prior to my rental. The cargo area was wet because of the holes when we picked it up. Thankfuly weather was good during my rental period!!
Ben SSome marker lites were out. Couldn't lift hitch ball receiver off ground or off hitch when returning-no one to help as counter people were only capable of operating cash register.Manager wasn't willing to help as he was off duty.
jack jWant sure where to park truck. Otherwise great service.
shannon kWe had a flat tire on a busy state highway. The truck that I rented was not inspected by anyone. I got the tire fixed and told the person I rented it from and the person in roadside assistance that there was another tire on the same unit that needed changed. The tires and other pertinent items should be checked before it is rented. I was treated very well by James in roadside assistance. He was professional and genuinely concerned for our well being. I would rent from UHaul again. Respectfully, Janice Berger
JANICE Beasy worked well
DANIEL HI think overall the bill was a little high!
Rebecca BPerfect as is
Richard MThe reservation was received in wrong should have been received as a one way our credit card was charged almost $400 instead of 140
