The staff at Circle C U-Haul in Orange California was great! I only picked up a small pull trailer for a one-way rental to Prescott Arizona. But, I had lots of questions. Both of the gentlemen were very knowledgeable. They took their time and answered all of my questions when I was just looking at renting a trailer and each and every time that I called or stopped in for more information or trailer towing insights. I not only would recommend Circle C U-haul in Orange. I would suggest that you make them your first call when thinking of using a U-Haul piece of equipment.

Ashley CI would recommend this U-Haul site mainly because it’s open 24 hours—having that kind of flexibility is super convenient. But there were some issues I need to bring attention to, especially regarding safety and the condition of the vehicle. First, safety was a real concern. The pickup location had no lighting at all. As someone picking up a truck alone at night, this felt extremely unsafe. Trying to take photos of the vehicle in total darkness and locate things like the odometer was not only frustrating but honestly scary. A minimum level of lighting at the site should be a basic expectation. The vehicle itself was also a problem. As soon as we opened the doors, we were hit with an awful, foul odor—it seriously smelled like something had died in there. We got nauseous and almost couldn’t drive because it was so overwhelming. On top of that, there were bugs inside, and it clearly hadn’t been cleaned after the previous rental. That part felt really unacceptable. Then there were mechanical issues. The check engine light came on twice. A technician came out and told us it was safe to drive, but the light turned on again during our return trip. It made the entire experience more stressful, and given that this was a U-Haul truck—not a small car—it just felt more dangerous. These trucks are heavy-duty, and something going wrong could be a serious risk. Now on the flip side—U-Haul’s customer service was absolutely top tier. Every single representative I spoke with was professional, quick, and incredibly helpful. Whether I called in or used the live chat option, I always got a fast response from someone who clearly knew what they were doing. It made a huge difference, especially given all the issues I was dealing with. I was even sent a follow-up text asking if I wanted to leave feedback, and it was easy to leave a glowing review for the agents because they truly earned it. Each time I reached out, I walked away feeling like my questions were answered and my concerns were heard. Honestly, the customer service experience was so good, I felt impressed. Other companies should take notes—U-Haul’s support team sets a standard that others should strive for. That’s why I’m leaving this review: to both praise what went well and raise some serious concerns. I hope U-Haul takes this feedback seriously, especially around safety and cleanliness, and considers some kind of compensation for the very unpleasant vehicle condition and mechanical issues. This wasn’t just an inconvenience—it was uncomfortable and could have been unsafe.

He made returning the trailer easy and I appreciate that. He is a really nice person and I may be renting from him in the near future. I highly recommend the location and Jerome. Thank you again!!
BRECK NThe locations that deal with people are excellent. However, the girl who runs scheduling in California is the worst. The first time I tried to rent in California I had to cancel and rent the truck in Las Vegas as she could not guarantee I would have a vehicle and I had family coming in to help us move my mom. I rented a 16 ft truck to do the second load and again, she calls the day before to tell me they only have a 10 ft and a trailer. She was very condescending - us girls know this and that attitude should never be given to another women as we know what it means. There is so much more to this women but the condescending attitude and complete lack of customer service should require her to get some serious training. If it wasn't for the nice people that work at the actual locations - I would never use Uhaul again because of her.

MARCO CLocation was closed from 1 PM to 3 PM and so it was only a key drop did not have any interaction with personnel or the inside of the facility. Just parked the truck went through the return Information online and drop the keys.
THEA HHonestly everything was fine until I was double charged. I was charged at pickup and charged again at drop off which was at the same location. Hope someone get this fixed because this isn’t right.

Marian J1. Improvement of customer service; the girl that took our payment information had zero business training. When I asked for information on returning the vehicle she said see your contract. I asked what is a location near the storage facility and she said to look online. 2. Again customer service, when asked where the vehicle was she pointed and said look for it. Seriously this person doesn’t want to be there. 3. I acme by on my way out to let them know about the low fluids (brake/pwr steering) on the vehicle and she simply walked away and didn’t come back.

JERRY TSo the drop off was closed when I left the truck. But it had plenty of room for me to park the truck and the dropbox for the key at the door. I did call a couple days later to see if they found something in my truck that we couldn’t find. The gentleman’s extremely helpful very nice. And he is checking for me to see where the truck has gone to make sure that they can maybe check and see if the item is in there. I highly recommend it for a drop off or a pick up.

KAMI KHonestly, the way you can improve all U-Haul locations is by hiring more employees with the integral standard of Jerome at Circle C Storage. I mean what a nice guy. He took the time to carefully examine the van for misc scratches/dents and because of his attention to detail, he discovered a discrepancy of the actual remaining gas in the van compared to it's paperwork. Also, he was very empathetic to the fact that I was pressed for time and he expedited the delivery of the cargo van and for that, I was quite appreciative. I highly recommend Circle C Storage simply for the fact that Jerome is there to lend a helping hand. 10/10 -Tony V Recchia 3/11/25

However, when we checked the trailer electric connection, the brake & turn signal lights worked good, but NO running lights. He showed no concern nor offered any attempt to fix. I knew I wouldn’t be traveling much at night so made no issue.
