I've been there twice in the last few days. First the smallest box truck and then the 15" box truck. Same place, different people serving me and different vehicles, but my same conclusion is that this is where I will be coming back to now for truck rental. I'm comparing mainly to the big box home supply store that rents its own vehicles. Main consideration is they (Uhaul) rent for a base rate plus mileage. The big box store rents for a base rate plus time. For me, my rentals are time heavy and mileage light so it works out better with Uhaul most of the time. I expect it COULD be the reverse if you are renting mileage heavy and time light. But consider that the big box stores count on a captive audience for its trucks to haul off its materials bought at its stores. Very efficient at this particular Uhaul store, while maintaining a friendliness WITH a personality. (Signs of personality are always good in my opinion, because it means that there is either no pressure to become a corporate drone, or there is meaningful resistance to it.) Vehicle maintenance yeah I checked off as satisfactory here, but it's obviously lacking for both Uhaul and the big box home supply retailer. I just think that people prefer a lower price vs a fully-maintained vehicle, so that is what we get, and both companies maintain vehicles just in order to keep the vehicles safely on the road, but let other things, that they might argue are simply inconveniences, go obviously unattended rental after rental. I am not saying even that I have enough experience with Uhaul yet to say it's the norm for them, but it's already trending that way.
STEWART TThis was my first time renting and using a trailer, and it’s a big one. I was rather nervous and concerned. Heard hooking up a trailer can be tricky. Warmly, the lady at the front desk and Louis welcomed me, and then Louis just went out to prep the truck and trailer while I was finishing paperwork with the lady in a cool, chic office. 5 minutes later, paperwork’s done and the truck and trailer were perfectly connected, ready for me to drive off. Felt like a delicious freshly made quesadilla was handed to you when you were still worried how to cook rice yourself. Louis then showed me how I can park them in a way easier way than reversing during after hours. Ah, another huge relief! I do admire his efficiency and kindness. And the kind gentleman who offered to help park the truck when I returned at 6pm when the office’s closed on a hot summer Saturday night. I sincerely appreciate his help and wish him all the best. THE best U-Haul office I’ve ever been to.

KEITH CI’VE RENTED FROM UHAUL ALMOST 36 TO 37 TIMES AND THIS WAS THE WORST RENTAL TRUCK THAT I’VE EVER DRIVEN AS 139,000 MILES ON IT AND IT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE. THE AC DOESN’T WORK AFTER 50 MILES AN HOUR IT WANTS TO JUMP IN ANOTHER LANE WHEN YOU’RE MAKING LEFT AND RIGHT TERMS, THE ENGINE IS SO OLD THAT YOU HAVE TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO EVEN GET IT TO GO IN SECOND OR THIRD GEAR REGARDLESS OF IF YOU’RE PULLING WEIGHT OR NOT, IT’S JUST A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE RENTING EXPERIENCE WITH THAT PARTICULAR RESERVATION NUMBER.

Svitlana ZThe trailer was bousing so much, when i asked agent why it does that i was told its because its empty, but when i load trailer with bed i was planing to move from GA to NC, mattress and few other small things, the whole trip trailer was doing the same thing. Then i notice that left side(driver side) tire on trailer either had bump or the wheel is was bad. That what was causing the issue. I report this at the location in NC, they promised that they will have some one to check that and fix the issue. Due to this issue i while transit headboard of my bed had glasses some broke down, If need it i can attached the pictures. This will cost me some money on the end... Not satififed! very dissapointed. Location MUST check every equipment doesnt matter if its a trailer or truck, or van...
ADYL MVehicle I was told to pick up wasn’t there so I had to sit on the phone with customer service to get a different one. Went to return the vehicle and the app still had the wrong truck listed with the wrong mileage. Did a manual return online with a rep and now am being charged $700 for my 5 hr rental where I drove a total of 42 miles.

Dwight FI rented a U-Haul truck from this location to drive to Michigan. About nine hours into the trip, while traveling 70 mph on the highway, the driveshaft detached from the truck. It was an extremely dangerous situation that could have ended much worse. Luckily, I was able to get control of the truck and slowly glide to the median while in neutral. After the breakdown, it took four hours for a tow truck to arrive. This review is intended for anyone considering renting a truck from U-Haul, not as a reflection of this specific location, since the local staff are not responsible for maintaining the vehicles. My concern is with U-Haul's maintenance and vehicle safety practices, or lack thereof. After many years of renting from U-Haul, this experience has caused me to lose confidence in the company. I won't be using U-Haul again, and I'll be sharing my experience with friends and family to ensure they are safe.

Richard BClean Air truck rental is the best! I have a new truck compared to my old one and didn't have the right plug for the trailer. They quickly let me borrow an adapter or my day rental. I always go to Clean Air Truck rental. Love those guys!
Brad BI made a reservation over the phone to use a flat trailer (6x12) from this location. I didn't think it would be practical to rent a trailer locally and pull it both ways of the trip. So I decided to do a one-way as I needed it to haul a small item from Georgia back to SC. I asked them multiple times if it was a one-way rental. I was told that indeed it could be returned at a location in my home state. Upon arrival, I checked in and the price was much higher than what it should have been for a daily rate. The gentleman working said that I had to rent a cargo trailer or a toy hauler for one-way rentals. I explained to him the conversation I had the day before and he would not honor the agreement or price. I had no options but to take the toy hauler for rent as it is a flat trailer some what similar to what I needed, just much larger. This rental cost me at the least 4 times more than it should have. If I wasn't 4 hours from home I would not have rented from them at all. They gave me false information over the phone and should have honored the price that is listed, instead of ripping me off. This is the first negative experience I have ever had at any U-haul location. The only way I will change this review is if they honor the price for the 6x12 flat trailer and refund the balance back to my card.

Leigh SI ordered a utility dolly and none were available. I took an appliance dolly but was too heavy and did not meet my needs. I ended up returning it. Not disappointed in Clean Air, they were great. Disapointed I did not get the equipment guaranteed by UHaul.
