This was a busy convenience store with only 1 employee. Handling the Uhaul had to wait until store customers were helped, and then he'd walk away and make me wait each time new customers came in. I didn't think I'd ever be able to leave. I made my reservation online and had prechecked in with all my info and credit card, so it should've been a simple pickup. He struggled a bit with the app, went over verifying all of my info, and then told me it couldn't read my driver's license that I'd uploaded. So then he took photos of it, tried to upload them and got the same error. I had to call Uhaul and explain that I still didn't have my truck because he was unable to check me out. After putting me on hold, they said they'd have someone call him to walk him through it. He had a store full of customers when his phone was ringing, I had to butt in and tell him to answer it so I could get my Uhaul. I was finally able to leave after that. I'd rented a dolly and was charged for a dolly, but there was no dolly with the truck. When I returned the truck and told him that, he said he couldn't do anything about that and that I'd have to call Uhaul. When he went through the checkout on the app, he asked me questions that I could not understand. He speaks broken English. I told him I didn't understand or know what that meant, so he just hit the "yes" button to go to the next page. I have no idea what he said yes to. The question said "FD" when he turned his iPad towards me. This was a horrible experience from start to finish. This morning I got a call that my truck was no longer available and so they sent me the address to a new location. I went to the only Uhaul in that area on Pacific Ave that's been there forever, only to be told my truck wasn't there, but down the street a couple minutes away. The truck was literally the only Uhaul parked at this convenience store. In all my time waiting at this store to try to get my truck, the customer base was sketchy looking people, one was under house arrest and wearing an ankle monitor, others looked and acted like druggies. Why on Earth would this be a valid Uhaul location with a real Uhaul facility 3 minutes down the street? I would never want to rent a truck from this location again.
