I had extreme difficulty checking in on line due to low cell reception. I drove about a mile up the road to connect but couldn't check in because I wasn't at the location. It took extra long but after waiting to connect and calling customer service upon pickup and dropoff both times, I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone without someone there for customer assistance--I'd rather drive rather drive farther to the Bristol Motors location. Not worth the hassle.

The pick up and return processes at the facility were easy. Using the app was tricky. During pick up the app locked me out so I had to call customer service and ask for help, and the customer service lady was amazing and walked me step by step through the pick up process. Returning the rental truck, the app simply said “drop it in one of the three stalls and return the key to the drop box”. The return stalls had already cars parked in them with no U-Haul branding. I dropped the key after locking the truck in the drop box and afterwards the app asked me to register the mileage and gas meter and take a picture. At that point I couldn’t do that since I already returned the key to the drop box. My wife called and left a message. My suggestion is make the app easier to use and less vague by putting the appropriate steps in order, at least for the return process.

Though I had a reservation for equipment pickup in downtown Madison that was changed with less than 24 hours notice by Uhaul, Corey was exteremely helpful and incredibly prompt in responding to inquiries. While the corporate entity gets a 0 for customer service, Corey gets a 10.

I couldn't get the equipment i wanted from a U-Haul site closest to me and had to pay extra to drive 30 minutes away to move 15 minutes away.

I had originally signed up for the online 24/7 truck share rental, and the online rental process took too long on site. (UHaul, your online process is TERRIBLE). We went into the office at Conifer instead. Cory was super helpful and we had our keys within a minute! We drove a total of 13 local miles in the UHaul, only 4 of those with a load in it. We returned the truck within 2 hours, and with a gallon of gas we had put in. However, when I received our final receipt we had been charged $8.50 for 2 gallons of gas. We then realized that original contract had the gas tank listed as almost full, when it was only 3/4 full when we got it. I've contacted Cory about a refund on the gas charge, but have yet to receive a response. We need to rent a local UHaul at least once more this summer, and we'd like to do it from Conifer since they were so helpful after our horrible online experience. However, I can't recommend them until our gas charge is fixed.

I had originally requested furniture pads. But they said it wasn't on my order when I picked up the trailer and didn't have any on-site. Issue with the cable on the trailer door. Once the door was opened, we could not close it as the cable came off the track. I suspect they knew about it since we were never shown the inside of the trailer.

It is not clearly marked. There are 3 different drive ways, none clearly marked. I was lucky to find someone to direct me to the office. After finding the office, everything went smooth. I wish I had rented a truck with a lift/ramp and brought tie downs. The staff in the office were very helpful. My son had no problems dropping off the truck. I’m glad I rented the truck.

Rather upset that I spent over $95 on gas most of it which I did not use. Your policy should be it goes out full and comes back full, not at a fraction of a tank because that is difficult to determine at filling.

I had asked to pick up at the Uhaul in my Madison neighborhood. My email confirmed it. When we arrived at that one on Atlas St, we were told that my pickup had been changed to DeForest which is not remotely close. Nobody even notified me! When I asked why, I was told "Just because this is your preferred location it doesn't mean you'll get it. You'll have to ask them why they didn't call you." There was a 26' truck there but only if I was going round trip so I couldn't use it. By the time we drove to the other one, searched for the correct entrance, found the office, met with the rep who barely looked at me, let alone speak- we wasted an hour!! Horrible customer service all around for pickup and they didn't care. I have never had an issue with Uhaul in the past but will seriously consider elsewhere next time.

Was charged for two days even though my reservation was for one day. Reserved two furniture Dolly's but only received one. The location is cluttered with vehicles, hard to find the office or to park without blocking the drive.

I booked one truck with one month in advance in order to pick it up in a U-Haul inside Madison. However, the truck was picked up there at 15 miles away from Madison. I think you must try to guarantee a close pick-up place to whom book with enough time.

Better directions to the proper entrance and pick-up area. There are multiple driveways and there were no signs directing to the UHaul pick-up area. There were a great many parked cars in the lanes weaving through the compound. The rental process itself went smoothly and the personnel was helpful.

Did not have equipment reserved in truck or available at that location. Did not inform me the equipment was not in the truck as suggested at the time of reservation. Were not able to locate desired equipment at another location, was told it was not available within 50 miles of that location. Found it at another location 20 miles away after leaving the original pick up location. Was not contacted with a pick up location for my truck rental, had to place 5 calls to Uhaul to get someone that was able to tell me if/where the truck I had reserved would be available for pick up.

The online check in took about an hour before we were able to get into the lock box with the key. We called support and were on hold for over 20 minutes and the transferred 3 times and were on hold each time for over 10 minutes each time.

One big improvement would be on the 10’ truck to have a loading rails. I had to go out and rent a ramp to load my items up, it was a bit of a hassle. Ramps on trucks are very important to me and probably many others. Thanks for allowing me to respond, I definitely will be renting trucks from your company.
