Drop off was confusing because I didn't receive any written receipt or mobile notice until the next day. Notice drop off time was 8 hours later then I actually dropped it off. For peace of mind do the mobile drop off even if there is staff available.Joel K.

We rented 3 weeks in advance from the place on Pershing which is closer to our house The day before I was texed that we no longer have a truck here but u have to go miles away. Then I paid for 10 moving blankets from the one place but the second place doesn't carry blankets, no refund. When i called to find out where to pu the truck the man kept telling me i was being rude. I did say that you guys texted me about changing my location, he stated about 6 times he didn't text me and for me to stop being rude. I did hang up and called the place in south shore, got All of my stuff taken care of, Even asked if I was sounding rude at all, the answer was no. I didn't like when I ordered the truck I bought the $13 insurance but when we picked up the truck there was a extra $8 for insurance plus a $25 fee. I'm renting another one this weekend if it doesn't work better i will be forced to give you guys the review u deserve,as a Google reviewer I give everyone one chance cause of a bad day and I know how bad reviews hurt $.Christina G.

The experience at this location was bad from start to finish, with the lone exception being Eula, the person who helped us. The 20-ft truck we reserved was leaking water into the cab and onto the dashboard of the truck in a way that made it unsafe to drive on what was a very rainy day. After making some phone calls for assistance, Eula informed us that was the only 20-ft truck at that location (and the only of its size within 50 miles, even though we saw some at a different location on our way out of town) and the next best option was to drive 30 minutes each way to get a bigger truck or to select a shorter truck at the location of our reservation. We opted for the shorter truck since we had movers coming and could not take the time to go an hour out of our way to get a new truck. As a result, we were unable to fit all of our items into the smaller truck, which led to us packing up a personal vehicle as full as possible to drive to our end destination and back. Thankfully, our destination was less than 2 hours away, but it added an additional 6 hours worth of packing and driving back and forth from 6pm-12am. We then had to pack the same personal vehicle a second time with the remaining items, and we were still unable to bring everything with us, as the movers had filled the truck to its maximum (very thoughtfully and wonderfully). This experience was particularly frustrating as it seems all could have been avoided simply by having another 20-ft truck available.Alexander D.

When I got this vehicle the fuel level was only at 1/3 of a tank. It was difficult to know how much fuel to put in the tank to return it at that amount . I'm irritated that I ended up probably overfilling by 3-4 gallons. That's an added cost to me of about $10. Also I was supposed to pick this vehicle up in Lincoln and was told last minute that I had to get it in Decatur. That cost me an extra two hours of time that day for my move and another $10. in fuel for the truck and my personal vehicle going to get the truck. Nothing wrong with the service and the vehicle but UHaul as a company cost me convenience and about $20 extra. That's not ok. Your scheme of overbooking and scrambling to find vehicles and then making customers travel great distances to get their RESERVED vehicle is a terrible plan for quality customer service.Gary R.

Got there 10 mins before pick up time at 5pm and they had no one there to do truck rentals supposedly and it would be another 45mins to an hour. Finally got a call saying it was ready then when getting there it was even more of a hassle because they didn't know what they were doing and let me add that this pick up is 45mins drive from our location. Absolutely the worst experience ever with a company. And we have used uhaul 3 times and this was absolutely horrible. Also this location was so dirty and wasn't inviting at all.Russell E.

My truck had a bad battery and wouldn't start in front of my house. Sat for three hours. They jump started it but had me drive it to uhaul. It took an xtra 3 hours on my long drive of over 6 hours. Thy replaced batter with new one. No compensation except filling tank half full whe I returned it. The uhaul center in Decatur was so under staffed. They couldn't keep up. Terrible.April F.

UHaul transactions had their own customer window. I was asked two questions re: the truck and the trip. I handed over the key and had an email receipt on my computer when I got home.John C.
I reserved a 17' truck online ...only to do the early express check in to find out it was a 10'. I had to make several trips. the dolly was not on the truck and had to go back in the middle of moving to pick it up...was never told where to grab it. He didn't show a ounce of remorse or anything even with the $50.00 guarantee sign sitting right there. I told him I didn't get my correct truck?? nothing so I left and called customer service...MELINI Y.

I reserved a 20-foot truck and this location did not have one to give me. I reserved it about one month ahead of time which should be sufficient for U-Haul to have the proper equipment. I should NOT have to rely on another renter returning the truck at the EXACT same time as I am supposed to rent it. Also, I should NOT have to travel additional miles to pick up a SMALLER truck. In addition to all this, I never received my sofa cover which I had already paid for. I should be credited for the cost of the sofa cover. Finally, my drop-off location was changed without my knowledge or approval when they changed my rental agreement.BARRY G.

No problem with location...however, I reserved online. Then received a call few days later and the size I reserved was not available...was told the store opened at 8:00 a.m. so I was there at 8 but they did not open until 9:00. Would not advise to reserve online!Michelle M.

I started my check-in using the online check-in with my mobile phone, which began well, but once I submitted my "selfie" and drivers license photo, the agent interaction took much too long, then they asked for another phone number--this information could have been collected on the rental reservation form. After submitting the information, the counter agent called me over, had me checked in and on my way before the agent cam back to the chat session.. I would love to use the online check-in, but it needs to be more streamlined. Overall though, a good experience.Larry D.

I don't understand you only go 11 miles on the truck and fill it up . At the pump for $2.12 a gal, it cost you $14.60 to fill it. That means you only got 1 1/2 miles gal. Something wrong with this picture. Tank was not full but the person marked it full. I would not recommend this. Fell very cheated at this point. Not good.Edward M.

They were very slow to issue me the truck. In a hurry (before I even finished refueling the truck) to get mileage of the truck, and wanting to get fuel gauge reading BEFORE I was finished fueling. But, then he raced inside to run my paperwork through BEFORE I even got inside. He then DID NOT give me my 10 mile discount that I was to receive for an inconvenience location. Then, They were very slow to try and reimburse me my money. Right now my card has been charged TWICE, and still no refund.tammy C.

I used this truck for a day. The inside of it looked as if it hasn't been cleaned for months. I was weary of touching anything inside. If it would have been longer than a day trip I would not have taken it.pat D.

Soon after we picked up the truck, we noticed that the check engine light was on. We notified the pickup location, and were told not to worry about it. The truck worked OK for us (other than not seeming to always shift gears correctly), so it was not a big deal. For the next customer, would like to see issues like the check engine light addressed before pickup.Janet W.
I reserved the equipment in Springfield, IL but was sent to Decatur, IL to pick it up - saying that the equipment was only available in Decatur. Problem was, the customer service rep from U-Haul did not appreciate the burden that placed on me - in fact she was snippy with me.Matt O.

The U-Haul was $19 and I end up paying 60+ I had to put the nine dollars gas back in there which was OK but I thought I was paying the $19 and getting my deposit back have to press the break all the way to the floor and I also had to keep calling in going up there just to get the u haulKAMANA B.
The agent was late in opening the business and I had to clean the cargo area of the truck other wise the agent was courteous and polite and had all of my needed supplies. I was disappointed that the truck did not have a loading ramp.John C.

This place was creepy. There was no name of the establishment any were so I wasn't sure if I should leave the rental with them . They wouldn't tell me anything about why it wasn't called Phillips 66 since that's were I was suppose to take it. Seemed to me they didn't have an answer .dan D.

I pre-registered my rental and yet the employees here had no idea of the information U-Haul had requested and thanked me for in a text. While the employees here were friendly enough, the gentleman working didn't seem to be trained in how to rent the trailer.( I hope not to return here as the building reeked of an unpleasant odor due to the burning of incense.)The U-Haul itself was not equipped with a long enough trailer light extension forcing us to buy one.
