Upon my arrival to the facility to pick up the U-Haul, the back door was unlatched and open. Inside the vehicle, were beer cans drinks, other type of food. A homeless person was staying/using the back of the vehicle. When I first tried to crank the vehicle, the truck would not start immediately. I had to crank the ignition three times for the vehicle to finally cut on. When I arrived at my house, the back had to be cleaned out, mopped with hot water and dried before we could load our boxes into the back. There was beer and other liquids on the floor. Once we finally loaded up the truck to take our items to the storage location, the vehicle would not turn on. After attempting to crank the vehicle five times, the vehicle continued to try to turn on even without the key and the ignition finally, the vehicle did turn on, and we were able to take our items to the stores location, but we were afraid of turning the vehicle off and being stranded at the storage location. We contact the roadside assistance and we’re given a 90 minute window we were able to unload all of our items out of the truck, and decided to return the vehicle back to the location to avoid any other problems. We used our own vehicles and our parents truck to take the rest of our items to the stores location. I don’t think I can ever use U-Haul ever again.

if self service rental- why not include a dolly- if with extra cost or option to use if present in the truck

KEVIN GThe process to self check in was horrible. I was locked out the system. The gas station employee did not help me whatsoever. I stayed on hold for a long time (20 + minutes). I arrived on time for my rental but due to technical issues, didn’t get into it until approximately 40 + min later. I would not only never do this again but wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Dana HThe dolly I paid for was not included. The inside of the cab had glass and other people trash. The hood of the truck had someone’s water bottle sitting on it. There were people living behind the dumpster next to where I had to pick the truck up from. Same property and running and extension cord from the building to behind the dumpster. The inside of the truck was rusty and I struggled to open and close the door. The word lock was unlocked when I got there so anyone could have taken this truck. I felt very unsafe. I moved as quickly as possible so I could return the truck before dark.

SHALINDA MI approach the employee inside the store to make sure I was at the right location. The station employee wasn’t clear in understanding what was the return process was. I parked the truck, locked it and dropped the key in the box. I was hoping for some kind of receipt or timestamp in the time that I returned the truck.

Tim WSeeing how Uhaul claimed I never turned it in I feel bringing it into a place that has people to talk to would be better. The place I brought it to was just a five parking space area on the side of a gas station with a key drop box telling you what to do online.
Michael SU-haul’s mobile truck renting process is confusing and cumbersome, requiring myriad lines of assurance that the customer is legit. I ended up having to provide several phone numbers (my daughters’ phones) to make the system happy. The clerk at C-store was extremely helpful in getting me through all the hoops, and when the truck I was renting turned out to have a mechanical problem, he was able to quickly switch me to a different truck. At the end of the day, he also helped with the return process. I highly recommend C-store, but I can’t recommend U-Haul’s renting process.
Robert VCheck out was great but checking vehicle back in, had problems with moving through app. Taking pics required but it wasn't uploading, phone app. Froze and would not allow me to go thru next screen, called 1800# waiting over.45 mins on hold and finally got rep. Should have stayed on phone with rep until checking was complete but she helped me with getting to next.screen and 2.screens.down.app got stuck. Called daily but wait.on phone.was.average.63.mins. I was at.location over.2 hours attempting check in theu.phone app but un a uccessful.
