I reserved as truck a month ago. I was notified the day before my move that the truck was unavailable. Had to drive an extra 20 miles out of my way to get the proper truck. The location did not have the 10 blankets I reserved. Had to drive back to original location to get the blankets. Very poor organization on the part of U-Haul. The drop off location was hard to find. Google maps kept missing the side street it was on. If there was not a UHaul parked out front we would have never found it. We were given incorrect information about getting money back from our reservation if we turned the truck in early. They said you only get billed for the hours you use the equipment. So on a 2 day rental we completed our task in a little over 12 hours expecting to turn it in early and get money refunded. When that didn't happen I emailed customer service and they said that on a one way rental U-Haul does not refund early returns. This is very mixed messaging. We busted our efforts to return the truck after 25% of the allotted time thinking we were getting money back. We used 12 hours of the 48. Hours we were given because one of your representatives told us that was your policy. Very sad business. We will never use them again.William W.

I think providing more specific details per location about where to find keys at the that location. There were keys left in our vehicle but they belonged to the other rental on that site. After calling the owner who quickly came to the site, we discovered the keys to our vehicle in a small key box. Not so much about this location but important to note: the vehicle smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke. This was not enjoyable given the long ride. I also feel like given Covid, the vehicle didn't seem clean enough... for instance, steering wheel had crud on it.Jill T.

When I called on the phone I was told the rental fee was for 24 hours. I picked up the trailer in the afternoon and returned it the next day before the 24 hours had expired. When checking my credit card I was charged for 2 days.Larry H.

When we loaded my car onto the auto transport at the Dexter Rd (Ann Arbor) location, the chains were <1in off the ground so we had to redo them.Marco B.
First, my location change to Milan from Ann Arbor. Then, the light on my tow dolly didn't work and I was told "don't worry about it" I didn't to file a complaint and get a new dolly. The nearest tow dolly was in Jackson, MI and I had to drive 40 minutes each way to pick it up. I was told the area manager would call me about this issue - 3 days later and no call. I've overspent in gas from driving to Jackson MI to get a new tow dolly. The drop off location said I should pay more because I went over my mileage. Does anyone at Uhaul care to make this right? Clearly the area manager is not that concerned about this issue.Steven K.

My wife came here to pick up a trailer. The guy called at 805 to ask of she knew what time it was.. we had a 8 o'clock pick up. Then he complained about having to be there on a Saturday. He told her my fuze was bad and the lights were not needed. When she came home I found out he did not plug the extension in. They also set me up with a uhaul drop off site that was closed on Sunday. I called the 1800 uhaul number.. waited on hold for 20 min 2 times.. luckily I found another drop off in clare. The attendant there was very polite and helpful . The two people who were at the site, seemed uninterested in my business, and treated me as if I were interrupting the 'nothing' that they were doing when I arrived. Booked the reservation a month in advance. Corporate U-HAUL screwed me over three times. First, changed the location. Still a close location so not big deal. Then changed the time of pick up from first thing in morning to evening which was totally ridiculous as I had booked movers. Next, in order to have a truck at the time of my original month old reservation, I had to drive an hour out of my way to pick up a truck. Cost me extra time and money. Not at all happy with the process and customer service. Will consider renting elsewhere next time.Beth M.

No one was st the location when we arrived. We called the number and found out they had an emergency tow and would arrive within 30 min. When they did arrive the U-Haul computer system was not functioning (we were also unable to do mobile check in) and after many attempts and calls to U-Haul the transaction had to be done manually. We left with the rental over an hour after our scheduled pick up time.Alexandra B.

The people at Dave's towing were extremely rude and made the pick up and drop off a horrible experience. I arrived to pick up the truck a couple minutes early, when the person showed up who worked there, he starred at me and my three daughters like we were annoying him. He got out of his truck complaining that he was already gone for the day and he wasn't supposed to even be there. He kept saying he was supposed to be at "the milan dragway" in a very rude and condescending way. Immediately we were uncomfortable, we did nothing to be treated like this other than arrive to pick up out uhaul where we were instructed to go. He kept complaining and acting extremely aggravated, then he went to inspect the truck. When he opened the back door he asked rudely, "are you supposed to have blankets" I said no just a dolly. He then raised his voice (not yelling) exclaiming "we don't have that" I just replied by say that's fine whatever. After that I felt it necessary to ask "is this like a huge inconvenience for you? I'm just trying to pick up a rental truck" He tried to be nice when he said no, but then went on complaining about he doesn't know why we were there to pick up the truck at this location, he also swore in front of my daughters. (Damn it, shit, & ass were the words used) Not at us but at his computer and you guys for sending us to this location on a weekend. Another two people showed up who worked there acting angry and irritated about the fact we were there. Basically doing what the guy there first was doing. A lady called someone at uhaul I assume complaining about the same stuff while I was standing there, making us really uncomfortable. I almost said forget about it because I didn't want to give them any money, but I needed the truck so I couldn't. I returned the truck around 10:00PM that same night (NOT 3:00PM Sunday like they stated in the paper you emailed me) And the same guy was there, I tried to be pleasant to him, then he started telling me how "I'm not supposed to be doing this shit on weekends" blah blah blah. I will need another truck soon and as of now I will NEVER rent a truck from UHaul ever again. I can't believe you allow this company Dave's Towing in Milan Mi, do business with you. I'm 37 years old and this was the WORST experience I've with any company in 37 years. Shame on you for not knowing who is representing your company. This crew of workers made our Saturday just an awful funky day. We were excited about moving and the new things coming up for us as a family and these people just ruined our day. My initial preferred location did not have the trailer so I was redirected to one in Northwest Ann Arbor the day before. Then, at the last minute, it was changed to Milan, significantly South. I replied back to your text that we would pick it up later in the afternoon and received a confirmation of receipt but while I was in a meeting your main office left a voicemail that my rental had been cancelled since it hadn't been picked up. I phoned Dave's towing and the trailer was still there so we picked it up and they recreated the rental but forgot the pads. The result was a lot of driving, a lot of trouble and damaged furniture since we had no pads to protect it. I received a credit for your guarantee due to the location change but, overall, not a good experience with your main office.Marcel S.
