UHaul bait and switch scam. Reserved a one way rental from Poway to Temecula with 94 mile allowance in price quote and discounted rate for return to Escondido. The pickup location then changed to Escondido the day before even when reserving a week in advance, and the mileage allowance dropped to 30 despite still needing to drive that same distance to Temecula where the quoted mile allowance was more than 3x what they actually provided. Actual driving distance was even further due to the inconvenient pickup and dropoff locations different from reserved selections and going out of my way to return the truck to a further location. Final cost with tax ended up being almost $200, not including fuel for truck with 10 mile-per-gallon mileage. This Uhaul pickup location is primarily a liquor store in a seedy part of town with no dedicated rental counter and I would not recommend visiting it after dark for safety reasons. This was my first UHaul rental and it will also be my last, given the bait and switch situation that transpired.

Tiara GWould be helpful for not just the customer but the store clerks as well if customers making reservation knew ahead of time somewhere during the reservation process that this location is primarily a check-in online/by phone location although they will conduct the check-in at the counter it's just a slight burden on the cashier as they have to contact the store manager and he/she has to manually redo the reservation themselves. Fortunately, if you happen to unknowingly select check-in at the counter the staff at this location are very helpfully and patient. Overall great experience the location is ideal as it was in close proximity to me, I give a 10/10.

Stephen APlace is dirty and a mystery on how it's still able to keep its doors open. Most people wouldn't feel comfortable in this store and employee was openly vocal on much he hated dealing with the U-Haul trucks. U-haul app also needs improvement on making progress soother and less glitchy.
David R1. Literally a parking lot of a small grocery store/liquor store so there was limited space. 2. Instructions noted a key drop off box but there wasn't one. I had to ask the owner of the liquor store on what the process was and I wasn't sure if it was legit that I give it to him so I had to wait for 5-10 mins to speak to a u-haul representative in the parking lot on the phone to make sure it's okay to drop off the key with that individual since there is no keybox, unlike the instructions I was given.
John Jmanager is incompetent. wanted to pick up the car at 9 am, but spent an hour and a half on this procedure.
