I normally don’t do reviews. I never have time, or I just don’t think about it. But I recently just moved, and from the first moment that process started, nothing went right… at all. Every single second something went wrong. Terribly wrong. To include my borrowed truck I was going to be leant… I called U-Haul last minute on a whim, figuring I had no chance of getting one, and this place was so very nice and helpful, it didn’t seem real!! I knew that the ease of this was absolutely not right, and I was going to be hit with something at anytime. I was so wrong!! I called first, walked in there terrified, and it was great!! Education Facility on Fairfax Rd in Cherry Hill, NJ, is where I went. The man who owns it, god forgive me his name slipped my mind, was so terrific from the start, I was pleasantly surprised!! No hassles, no worries, and one two three, I got the truck, used it for my move, took good care of it, and returned it as I was supposed to, and bam, it was done. I’m amazed at the ease of this!! Like I said, the ONE damn thing that had to happen last minute, of course, but done so easy and with helpful people. U-Haul, at Education Facility on Fairfax Dr, Cherry Hill NJ… use that one!!! Wonderful experience!! And to the owner, who so graciously helped me, thank you, ten times over!! You are a godsend!! You were wonderful to me, and please know that that meant the world to me. Thank you!!

Erin QOur truck had a warning light activated that said "Airbag Service," which may have put us at risk of the airbag not deploying. The hidden costs that appeared on my bill are ridiculous. Those should have been made ver clear up front. (They may have been buried somewhere, but I was unaware of most of them.) Picking up the truck (on a Sunday) took too long going through all the online steps. Delayed us for almost a half hour.

John GMobile pickup went terrible, the dollys I rented were not on the truck. The app was malfunctioning, no gas in the truck. Everything was a disaster. I recommend going to Home Depot!
Alexis CIt wasn't terrible, but not excellent either. I had to wait a while to get my truck even though I was the only customer there. The guy wasn't rude, per se, but wasn't friendly either. Just not a great experience, but nothing I can point to specifically that was terrible. Just average.
Grady PSuper easy to obtain truck, however the 19.95 rental is a bit deceiving as there is a mileage charge, my rental for just 3 hours locally was over $80.

Timothy PRob at the Cherry Hill location came to the rescue as I was notified by the staff at 8 East Oregon Ave in Philadelphia, after placing a reservation 75 days in advance, that they had no vehicle for me 48 hours prior to my move. I even prepaid and the associate in Philly lied to me about that. Rob did a superb job in helping me after your worthless Philadelphia team dropped the ball at every turn.

David OThe mobile renting app is beyond awful. I tried to complete it the night before. It wouldn’t let me change my birth year so I could not compete it. I did not realize: it was mobile pick up only. I waited over 40 minutes on hold. It accepted a photo of me with sunglasses then it would not let me proceed. That took 20 minutes to resolve. The calling someone to verify identity is another ridiculous process. You have my photo, license, address and credit card. That’s not enough? I was delayed an hour during which time my movers had to wait doing nothing because we didn’t have the truck. The only positive was that the movers were awesome.
Emily SU-Haul made it incredibly complicated to pick up the van. They had my phone number, my husband’s phone number, and still for some reason insisted on calling my mother. The whole pick up took over 20 minutes. We have had nothing but bad experiences every time we’ve ever used this company.
DAWID KWhen I checked out the van, I was told that there was half a tank of gas in it. When I went to the gas station after using it, I had to estimate the amount of gas it would take to refill to a half tank. The man at the gas station told me that it would not show up accurately until after the van was driven. He was right: I ended up putting about $25 too much in gas in because it did not show up even after turning on the engine at the gas station before adding gas several times. This could obviously be avoided with the tank being filled when it is picked up. I feel ripped off.

Nicholas BGive a more accurate estimate. I received 2 estimate of prices which kept increasing every time. I ended up with 3 totals and the grand total honestly was very excessive because there was a cleaning fee which didn’t need to really be done and it turned out to be an excessive amount where being inconvenienced with doing multiple trips is honestly better.

Erica JThe only issue I have with this experience is that we were overcharged for the mileage. I calculated out how far it was between locations, and the mileage on the odometer was 5 miles more than what was calculated. I realized during the drive that the odometer seemed to be cycling quickly, and after the calculations, I saw that my observation was correct. But the location was right near our home and next to a gas station for easy fueling before dropping it off.

I understand getting held up in traffic, but I was on a time schedule, and it worried me that no one was available to give me a key. I found the number on my phone and left a message. I was about to get a truck from another dealer when the phone rang. I appreciated the call back I got.

Christian YIn the past, at a different location, when I returned a vehicle,after hours, I just drop it off and put the key in the dropbox. In this instance, although the person mentioned using my phone to return the vehicle. When I dropped the vehicle offafter hours at this location, locked it up and droped the key in the dropbox. It wasn't until I got in my car, and went to us my phone to advise them that the vehicle was returned that I became aware of the fact that it would be necessary for me to take multiple photos of the milage, full, interior, etc, etc, etc. Since the vehicle was already locked, most of the self-checkout could not be done. I approximated the milage and knew the full level, since I had just filled it up. It would have been benificai if that info had been related to me at pick-up.

Richard QI had an appointment to pick up a truck at 9 AM. I was surprised to find out when I got there that the place doesn't open until 10. The truck had slightly over a quarter tank of gas. No one was present at 2 when I dropped the truck off. I would not use this facility in the future.
Darren BAsked for furniture pads and they were not in the truck. The truck was picked up before business hours. Was charged for furniture pads now have to contact you to get refunded.
Ken SUpon pickup I had an issue with the trailer lighting that turned out to be a blown fuse. The blown fuse was identified and fixed at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Maple Shade at 121 E Kings Hwy, Maple Shade, NJ 08052. Those guys not only found the blown fuse but replaced it for me too.

TYRONE PI was moved to faiffax rd. location because location i first picked to rent vehicle no one was there. Wasted over 1.5 hours renting truck from U Haul totally unacceptable. I am not sure i can ever use U Haul again. Worse experience ever renting a vehicle.
John FThey screwed up my contact. He asked me to pick it up a day early for free. Instead he started the contract that day. When I went to turn it in they charge me for an extra day because I didn't know he moved it up. Your system is broken. The customer signs then see the contract which is wrong.
Anthony WThe place was nice and the attendant helpful. But the truck was not. The check engine light was on when I got in it . And I am appalled at the mileage and fuel claims. I drove it 52 miles, but was billed for over 100 miles. I was also billed for gasoline and should not have been.

Guadalupe RFor the second time in a row, the app was non-functional and I waited 30 min for the website to connect me with someone to actually be able to pick up my rental. The furniture pads that I ordered and was relying upon to keep my furniture safe in this move were not in the truck and customer support told me the location would handle it but the location said they were virtually only, and when pushed checked a shed and had no pads. This is on top of entering my one-way move 3 times into the website only to see that I was scheduled to drop off at the same location. I called customer service and tried to switch my drop off point, was told that was impossible but that I would not be charged the extra miles for having to return the truck to my former city instead of my new city. However, when I went to finalize my return, the website still had the extra charges I was assured weren't being assessed. I complained and disputed at that time, a week ago, and still have not heard back from customer service. I have now received an email and a text message demanding payment. When I tried to dispute again on the website as instructed, it would not let me submit the dispute without entering payment information. I am throughly dissatisfied with you services 2 consecutive times in a row and while I was happy to simply take my business elsewhere, I am now highly motivated to tell my experience to others. Especially since another customer was trying to pick up his rental and having the exact same issue I had previously where my reservation was confirmed but never made in your system. He'd been on the phone for 2 hours when I finally got myself checked out. I really do hope someone with the power to make systemic changes and culture shift actually reads these reviews. There are serious flaws with your technology and a distinct lack of help or responsiveness. Moves are extremely stressful and very expensive. Delays cost me money. Ruined furniture costs me money. It is unacceptable what myself and a fellow customer went through on the same day, and that I've been in his shoes before speaks volumes about the lack of care and concern the decision makers and leaders have with customer experience.
David AWe ordered a 26 foot truck from mt Laurel closest to our move out Location and than told we could only have a 20 foot truck and had to go to Cherry hill. This resulted in more trips back m forth than we had planned on

Julia CI initially made my reservation for a different location and didn't receive notice until the night before that I'd have to travel 20 min. out of the way to the new location. When I called to try and change my reservation time, I was sent to voicemail. I left a message and never heard back. It has been more than 48 hours and still no response. I ended up changing my reservation online and thankfully it went through. When I picked up the truck, I chose the no-contact method and had trouble getting the key out of the lock box. The online instructions told me to go inside the location. When I knocked on the door (loudly), no one answered. I tried calling and was immediately sent to voicemail. After trying a few things, I was able to pry the lock open. Inside, the truck was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. The next day, I called this location to see if I could extend the truck rental. Again, I was sent to voicemail and I did leave a message, asking them to call me back and let me know. Yet again, no one got back to me and I never heard back from them. I decided to play it safe and just return the truck on time and use my personal vehicle for multiple trips back and forth. I'm now in my new apartment and I still haven't heard back from this location. I would NEVER recommend this place or return. After all of this nonsense, I doubt U-Haul will be my first choice for truck rentals in the future.
