I completed the entire rental online, and though I had my payment info, driver’s license and everything else required, upon arrival at the Exxon/UHaul on Battleground Ave. in Greensboro, NC the person there required everything already submitted again, all while being on the phone the entire time. The truck wasn’t full of fuel when I got it, and though I estimated 14 miles of use, the clerk made me put 1 gallon of gas back in the truck and then after charged a $9 fuel fee. There was one pending charge for 150 miles, which has not posted yet, but the $72.65 was not at all the $46.77 that I gave my credit card for online. Poor customer service, and unclear billing, 3 different pending charges that Amex is monitoring. There just is no excuse for this level of annoyance for a fully paid for, reserved truck used for less than 2 hours.

RODGER CI would NEVER get a U-Haul from this location EVER again.The owner was beyond rude…told me he was going to charge me an extra $30 for 3miles .I showed him I had proof I returned the truck just like I got it from him.He was so rude I had to call the police

KENYA CMade me put more grass in when I brought the truck back in the full mark. Attendant tried to charge me for a hand truck that I did not rent Was argumentative with me an insisted that I had gotten a hand truck when I did not get a hand truck I was basically called a liar until the camera was reviewed When I picked up the truck it was on the full mark I have pictures whenever I return the truck it was on the same full mark but she the attendant made me put more gas in there to go above full It should never take almost 40 minutes to return a truck and to tell and argue with me about something that I got that the attendant the day before when I rented the truck put on the account and I did NOT rent one... Very rude and held me up
ANGELA AThe owner of the location had my car towed from his parking lot during a 4hr rental during which I was only gone for less than 1 hour. He pointed out that he has signs posted, which he does. He did not mention this to me during pickup. He called me from a phone that appeared to me as a telemarketer. Caller ID was "KNPR Corp". It cost me an additional $263 to recover my vehicle. The towing company said they get calls from him daily to tow cars from his lot and that "they do not like him". He reflects poorly on U-haul. I will recommend that people in my extensive greensboro network do not use this site.

BRENDA CI met with the owner as I picked up my rental. After driving home he called to say my car would be towed for leaving it in his lot. When I asked why he had not told me this earlier, he said there were signs. Indeed there were, lost in the maze of dozens of signs and advertisements. The price of credit card gas was also $.50 higher a gallon than cash. Very convenient profit from people returning their U-Hauls and having to gas up.
Steven RThey need to update their reservation system, they charged a $250 deposit to rent a truck, at that location, won't be doing that again, store manager had bad attitude, had accused me of not putting gas back in the truck because I didn't get it from his service station I put more gas in the truck that was in the truck Got a receipt anyway very bad rental truck experience
BRUCE RProvide excellent customer service to customers and make sure the equipment is available at the time of pick up. I had a utility dolly on my reservation. When I arrived to pick up my truck the dolly was not available. They called me to come back after I left to pick up the dolly. It was an inconvenience.

JEFFREY BCar was towed and was not informed that I’ll be towed especially if I’m renting a U-Haul truck from the location. They said they attempted to call me but no call was made I asked to show me the number they called and refused to do so claiming they called number on file. LIES terrible place to rent from never again!!!
Tariq WRented an appliance and utility dolly online then went to pick it up and they said they don’t have it. I asked about reimbursement for the mileage because a simple call to day that they don’t have it would’ve been great. Got sent to another location because I needed the dolly when I got there the guy was rude. I had to do the whole contact over but left my card in my car since I drove the uHaual over. The previous lady did not explain that I would essentially have to do the whole rental process over. I was paying mover by the hour and ended up having to pay extra because a simple phone call to say they didn’t have the dolly
ASHLEY WOnly complaint was the truck interior reeked of cigarette smoke but was in fine condition otherwise. The service at this location is always solid so i’ll definitely be using them again in the future!

John CI rented from this mom & pop gas station on a bad day. The clerk in the morning had never done a rental before and spent over twenty minutes with the owner on the phone trying to process the rental even though I has checked in on line. Did not get any paper work- only an online receipt which I did not check because of the task at hand. On return, I was overcharged because the opening mileage was input incorrectly. The clerk responded with essentially "this is what it is" in the contract. For some reason I cant explain, I took a picture of the gas gauge before I left that fortunately had the mileage on it. The clerk was still adamant that somehow I was gaming the system. He also had to call his boss and after what seemed like a half an hour was able to go back to the previous rental and verify that I was correct. The clerk was unable to fix the receipt and said I would have to wait until his boss returned to fix the problem which ultimately was several hours later. In summary there are several other locations nearby that would be less of a hassle than renting from a convenience store with only one clerk to watch the store and process rentals.
Ralph PVery easy to arrange and great location on Battleground. The convenience store at the gas station runs the U-Haul and it’s average, but the service was great. U-Haul truck hadn’t been swept out from last use and it smelled a little in the cab but overall served its purpose! I would use again and recommend to others but would set the expectation for what they are getting.

MARILYN WI’ve rented twice at this location now. They first time, I assumed it was a quirk but now I know it’s intentional… the checkout process takes FAR too long… my truck was there but somehow they couldn’t dispatch it to me… took 45 minutes and I had to call U-Haul myself to get it done. Meanwhile, they added Safe protection to my reservation (which I declined when reserving online) and charged me another $15 which they wouldn’t take off when I brought the truck back. This also doubles as a gas station and they COMPLETELY mislead people by making them think the gas price is one thing (approx market price) but then charge .40$/gallon more. A closer look at the price on the sign shows the words cash in small print and there is a sign with regular closer to ground level behind a truck… even then they charge more then the regular advertised price. The truck was dirty in the cabin (used lollipops) and debris in the back. Uhual… these guys are hurting your reputation!

BARBARA TEveryone was friendly, however my truck was 45 minutes, throwing my schedule off for the day. Uhaul should not over book trucks to the point of having to wait for the last person to return it at the exact time I am supposed to pick it up...when it has to be checked in, possibly cleaned or gassed up.

IRISH SBetter explain to your customers that even a few minutes late will have them paying for another day. Even though the equipment had barely any miles and gas was put back. Your customer service isn't good in anyway. I will not rent anything from your location again.
Sonya Athe automatic charge of 150 miles was not explained in detail. i thought the mileage would be calculated at the end and then charged. The young man explained at turn-in that this charge is automatically applied so that i won't block the card for mileage charges. What an assumption on the part of this vendor. and then he pointed to a sign, not readily visible, that said a refund of mileage would occur if we only drove less than 30 miles. Quite surprising and will reconsider ever renting here again. there was a tire pressure sensor error message that worried me the whole trip. This simple rental was nothing but after getting charged these hidden fees.

LUIS NTook more than hour to get vehicle. Ordered online, then was forced to download the app to complete, which didn't register the reservation. Managed to get to the order via web, which then left me on "waiting for approval" for 20 minutes in 92 degree weather at a sketchy gas station (excepting the employee there, she was great). Called customer service, they told me to go inside. Took another 15 minutes from there. Price was terrible, mileage rate was atrocious. I could have rented a vehicle from Home Depot for a full day for the price of 6 hours from U-Haul. Ruined the project timeline for the day. Will never use again.
Joey UIt's a gas station with tight parking. She was very helpful but I was concerned about parking it in such close parking because I didn't want an accident especially as I was turning it in. I would have also liked an in person walk thru to make sure we are on the same page about the truck's condition. I knew it was in great shape but I'd rather get the closing paperwork in person than after I leave and can't walk thru a question with someone.

He charged us for an extra day then closed out our contract before telling me that and giving me the option to keep the truck for the extra day he charged me. Then, when I asked for a manager's number to make a complaint he refused to give it to me. I am making a complaint with the store and with uHaul. I will never rent again from this location and I will tell everyone I know to also Not rent from that location as well. Very very rude!
tacrice cVendor split her time between my transaction and selling people lottery tickets. Blankets had been reserved, but was told only at the point of rental that they didn't have any. As in, they had zero in inventory. Vendor tried to rush the transaction, going so far as reaching out and attempting to the push buttons on my phone while I was trying to read the contract details. Excessive hold was placed on my card (thankfully this did not become an issue and I was accurately billed in the end). When I returned the truck that night, the drop box for keys WAS LOCKED AND IMPOSSIBLE TO USE. This is beyond unacceptable and unprofessional. I had to coordinate with a friend to drop off the keys for me the next morning because of my work schedule. Another customer was in the parking lot that night too, trying to get help through the customer service line, which was clearly going nowhere. U-Haul should have a direct line to their vendor and hold them responsible for negligence like this. Instead, this other customer was clearly just getting the runaround. I'm also not a fan of this new policy of using their dubious web app to photograph me when completing the contract. This is obviously unnecessary and intrusive. Overall, a bad experience.
Michael KI dropped my truck off during a storm. I parked the truck and took all the pictures in the pouring rain. That was fine. HOWEVER, nowhere in the app did it say I needed to park on a specific side of the building or back in. I went in to return my key and was told I was on the wrong side and parked incorrectly (pulled in), and that I AT LEAST needed to go back out and re-park the truck so that it is backed in. I feel like if you're going to be so picky about it, that it should at least be said before I’m about to drop the key off.
Julia SU Haul needs to change it's truck return policy so the truck reserved in advance is available on pick up day. I placed a rental order for 15 ft. truck 10 days in advance of June 1. The truck was not available when we arrived at 8:30 AM. We reluctantly had to accept a 10 Ft. truck. This change made me lose time and money. I hired 3 high school boys @ $20 per hour and could have completed the job in 4 hours instead of 7. The store owner who rented from was sympathetic and kind and said the situation was out of his control because of Uhaul policies. Next time I will select Ryder.

timothy bI have sent corresponding regarding the fact that I was overcharged and I have not yet gotten a response. I sent it to the address (789002_AFM@uhaul.com) that I was supposed to send it to. This is the reason for the poor ratings The information is below: I was charged. 2x the amount I was supposed to be charged. The original contract I had stated the charges I agreed to: Insurance $15 Rental rate $29.95 Furniture Pads (1 dozen) $10.00 Utility Dolly $7.00 The receipt I received referenced above Insurance $30 Rental rate $59.90 Furniture Pads (1 dozen) $20.00 Utility Dolly $14.00 The only thing that was correct was the miles driven and the mileage rate. ROBERT RI was told bring the truck back on the gas hand of the red line. When I took it back, this other lady said my daughter needed to put $10 in. This put it over half. I feel like they do this when it’s young people they are dealing with!
