First Lube Plus is the finest truck/trailer rental I have ever experienced. The location is easy to find, plenty of parking. The establishment is organized and clean, indoors and outside. Try cleaning the trucks that you rent out especially considering covid-19 My truck was DISGUSTING their we're Orange syringe caps, catheter wrappings, tons of dog hair, dog saliva, trash, food pieces, what appear to be human beard clippings! Windshield wipers did not work, was told there was a half tank of gas inside truck but their was only a little over a quarter tank. One of the men inside the First Lube Plus was not wearing a mask! They we're NOT adhering to any of the covid-19 regulations. I am currently working with U-haul to "fix" this issue. I had already had two people waiting for me that were being paid by the hour or else I would not have accepted the truck! Do Not rent U-haul from First Lube Plus in Salem Oregon I recommend going to the 12th street location.KEVIN J.

The employees did not have face mask on. Two employees! Not one but two in the small office space. The employee there also had a huge vape pen on the desk. I preordered my truck and an appliance dolly. They didn't have the dolly. It took over 30 mins to get are truck. As well I as I was over charged for mileage. I over estimated at 17 miles to be safe and used 9 ,did not receive a refund. Absolutely worst experience ever would never recommend to a friend. Nothing wrong with location. Just you at UHaul suck. Your app sucks and took me 30 minutes to fully check in and get the truck. Customer service and policies suck. Wouldn't except a picture of my passport and "needed" a picture of my expired driver's license. It's fucking expired so why would I carry that around with me? I have my current license. So stupid. Why do you even need some of that info? One of my contacts was called and then put on hold for 7 minutes. I had to wait on hold to talk to someone who couldn't answer any of my questions when I reserved it in the first place for over 20 minutes. Your service is appalling and I won't use in the future if I can avoid it. Not to mention fees that were not disclosed before the reservation. Go fuck yourselves.Kirk A.

After Uhaul corporate sent me to pickup at a different location than my preferred location which was First Lube Plus, Timo-an employee at First Lube Plus- went into the system and changed it back and was excellent at customer service! Both gentlemen at the First Lube Plus location were GREAT - friendly and helpful. I also appreciated their patience with me, as I was arriving from out of town and was late to pick up the trailer. Even though they were very busy, they kept up their good humor and helpfulness.Joy C.
The lock on the truck was so hard to open that we had to take a detour to get tools to open it. In addition, there were four men at the desk where we checked out the truck. None of them were wearing masks despite a government requirement that everyone wear masks.Jonathan B.
I rented the week before and did not get insurance. I told him my AAA covered it. The next week, we went to rent and on day one I noticed they charged the $8.00 fee fir insurance coverage. I called and said I did not ask for or want that. They said they would talk to the manager. Still charged. I kept the trailer an extra day and it was considered â€œin townâ€ when my move was 1â€¢1/2 hour away. I had to return to that location. I drove back and returned it an hour and 1/2 later than the return time and was charged for a theirs day. They never stated that to my husband or I would have pushed and done one more load. For what we ended up paying for the 6X12 trailer and having to bring it back each time cost more in gas than if we had rented the big truck and paid moksha AND DIDNT have to return it at the same location. We won't be back but the kid that works there does a great job. Water under the bridge.cheryl B.
I signed up to use the contactless pick up, where I could sign in on my phone to pick up the Uhaul truck. I booked the truck for 9 AM and had movers scheduled to arrive at 10 AM. When I arrived, the website said I would have to wait until 10 AM to pick up my truck, which would have meant paying the movers to stand around and wait for me. I ended up going inside to talk with the staff, and it turned out my truck was there -- I had parked right next to it. Not sure what was wrong with the website. Staff were nice enough but did not wear masks, so my good intentions with the contactless pickup were completely undermined.Adam L.
On the pick up end, it was as perfect as a transaction could ever be. The only thing that could be improved would be if UHaul could replicate all 3 of the attendants and spread them throughout the entire UHaul chain of service points. I think U-Haul could do a better job with tracking pre-existing damage to their vehicles. When I point out damage without a small sticker I am always told, "yeah we knew about that one" . THEN MARK IT! It is a waste of my time every time I rent from ANY U-haul location to have to look for scratches and dings, photograph them, and find staff to update/acknowledge damage before I can leave.Jonathan W.

The main person I talked to was not very skilled at customer service. A little rude and Condescending. To be fair he may be overworked, but for someone who has never rented a uhaul before, and works customer service, it was frustrating. Overall the details were fine and executed properlyIda B.

It was not clear where to drop off the trailer, but the staff didn't make my husband back into the spot after the first try and just pushed it by hand. Everything was quick. In and out in under 5 minutes. I was impressed.Lia C.
The experience with staff at this location was good. The frustration with the after hours return of the truck made the experience negative enough that I will be renting through another company next time I need a truck. Received a text from UHaul with a link to check in the truck. I wasn't able to get into the link. I forwarded it to my daughter's phone since her phone is newer - She tried multiple browsers and finally found a browser that let her in to the link but then she wasn't able to enter in the information such as mileage at return. I attempted to call UHaul customer service and the message stated that my wait time would be at least 40 minutes. At this point my daughter and I had been sitting in the parking lot for over 45 minutes trying to navigate the required online return (it was stated that having staff do the return the following day would be an extra $20 charge!! ridiculous - if I'd returned the truck in person staff would have had to do the check in). Ultimately I put the rental contract and keys in the drop box and left a voicemail for the location. They took care of the check in the following day without incident. If you're going to require people to check in through a link the link should work. Waiting over 40 minutes to speak to a UHaul customer service rep does not = customer service! :(Linda S.

Your system of having the customer refill the gas tank is a scam. You say the fuel gauge reads full ... yes it is above 7/8, but it is not full. I'm told it's closer to full so I'm responsible for returning it full. I work for a charity and your facility is walking distance from our office - 2 blocks- the entire rental was 13 miles, did not idle the engine for any extended period- literally 6.5 miles one way out to pick up a donation and 6.5 back to our office to drop it off, and then back to your office. That truck took over 6 gallons of gas to fill. Hardly the 10 to 12 MPG you claim, is it?Jon W.

Everything was fine . They were very friendly. Answered questions etc. However, they did not accept or take my discount coupons, saying I was to use them when I delivered the truck. At the end of trip, gentleman while very friendly said he didn't read or handle any paper work. Result--I did not, have not received my $80.00 discount through Coldwell Banker Real Estate.
