Not clean. Not able to upload pictures of cracked windshield. Glad I expedited reservation online prior to pick up otherwise would have missed my appointment. Glad there were no charges to dispute. Fair and easy just could up the cleanliness factor. Smelled, ashes, spilled drinks, trash in back, not swept, dirty windows, etc.JASON C.

The employee didn't speak much English and gave me the keys to the wrong truck. He was the only person working the counter and every time a customer walked in to purchase something, he dropped what he was doing to help them which prolonged my wait to get on the road for a 19 hour trip with a 1 year old. They put in the wrong destination and wanted to charge me to change it. Uncool. Train the workers to listen to the customer. When we say the city we are going make sure that you put in the correct city not one 5 hours away.Joshua Z.
Cannot even begin to explain my horrible experience. The guy renting out the truck obviously knew nothing about it. Couldn't get the trailer off of it that wasn't supposed to be on it. I got 2 mins down the road and the trailer fell off and was dragging by chains. No one could come help me from uhaul. My friend finally came and helped me. They made me drive it all the way to another uhaul to get the trailer taken off. Mind you, this is after I showed up at 8:30 for a reservation I had made at 8:30 to a location that did not open until 9. Got there and waited and they said they didn't have a truck for me. Uhaul said they â€œdidn't know who they called last nightâ€. So I went to 3 locations nowhere near my house to get a faulty truck. Whoever returned it threw all their blankets and dollies in the back and it was never cleaned. It took me about 5 hours to do a move that should have taken an hour and a half. Had to pay the movers for all that time too. Uhaul gave me the truck for free but what a waste of time and money.kristin R.

The guy working at the gas station couldn't answer any of my questions about the UHaul. Didn't do a walk around with us and we were an inconvenience to him. Every time one of his customers walked in for the gas station we were pushed to the side and then he would come back to us. It was ridiculous!Michelle W.

The gas station attendant had no idea what he was doing. He also knew it- he asked us to come back an hour later when his partner was back but we said no because we don't live close (the pickup location was 60+ miles away from our house). He didn't even get my ID. He told us we could return it with "3/8 to 7/8" tank (only to find out when we returned it at 1/2 tank that we got charged because it wasn't at 3/4 tank). I scheduled my pickup for a 15ft truck about a week in advance for this place and for 24/7. My pickup time was scheduled for 7:00AM, and I didn't receive my truck until almost 9:00AM. I also ordered blankets I didn't get from this place. Overall it made me never want to move with U-haul again.Alex E.

I was not pleased with me having to go to three locations to get uhaul the first reservation I have they didn't take cash so I walked three miles to another location to be denied a truck finally I walk another mile or so to another location which I finally got a truck this location was very helpful Thanks food stopAnthony C.

If it weren't for the TM Steve Schlegel we would not have been able to move on time. I really appreciate his assistance and professionalism. The owners/operators of this location were not very customer oriented and on top of it all, they refused to assist us with the truck. When we went outside to get it ourselves (by their direction) the truck was on a flat. Which was when I contacted the manager Steve back. He quickly adjusted our order - in all it took 3.5 hrs or so to complete but the manager was very professional and rectified the situation.SHANI H.

I originally reserved a 20' truck from the Arvada location but was notified the night before that I would have to go to the Lakewood location, this increased my fuel cost and milage cost. When I arrived at the Lakewood location the 20' truck that I reserved was not available. I was given a 15' truck further increasing my fuel cost and mileage because multiple trips were needed. My move was from an Arvada home to an Arvada home. Having to travel to Lakewood was frustrating. All around I was extremely disappointed with the customer service and quality of truck I was given. My experience with U-Haul added more stress to an already stressful moving experience.Tyler C.

Our experience with this location was horrible. We were originally assigned a drop-off location in Golden, which would've been closer to us. But then U-haul switched us to this one and charged us more money, which was frustrating. When we went to drop the truck off, it was a dingy, dark gas station in a horrible part of town. The man in charge at the counter, who also worked at the gas station, kept waiting on other customers, even though we were next in line. Finally, when he did wait on us, he accused us of not filling the gas tank up enough, asked us for our credit card number (which we didn't give to him), mentioned something about "can't your wife read the mileage" in a very insulting way. Then he had us go out back in the dark behind the store to check the mileage again. The truck felt like it was in a very insecure location, so we even took pictures to prove we returned it. The man was insulting, rude and had horrible customer service. This shouldn't be a U-haul location at all, in my opinion.joseph A.
Very nice gentleman at the Food Stop, but there was no help with the equipment, the inside of the truck cab needed cleaning, and the car trailer needed some sledgehammer work to correct some previous damage prior to loading my car. MOST ANNOYING OF ALL!!!!!!! We set up the pick-up at another full-service Uhaul location close to our home, and then Uhaul changed the pickup. luckily, I had cancelled the help, or they would have been standing around for an hour while I went to the new pick-up location and waited for the guy to check us out between selling gas, cigarettes, and lottery tickets to every customer that came into the shop after us. A disrespectful waste of our time, and VERY poor policy on the part of Uhaul. There should be a way to stipulate the pick-up location, and leave it up to Uhaul to get equipment to the right place.Thomas R.
I had to clean out the pee and soft drink spilled, along with broken glass. The guy didn't give me any copies of my rental. He didn't know how to properly check me in. I had to call the main office to have them walk him through it. then he tried to give me a trail with really bad tires and told me to buy new one if the go flat. I didn't get a pig tail for lights. The gas station owners added the SafeMove coverage after I declined it and charged me an extra day. I brought this to there attention and they told me there is nothing they can do and I must contact uhaul directly for a refund. They also tried to first tell me that the safemove coverage is mandatory, which is a lie. I have now been on hold for 20 minutes and haven't talked to a person yet. Very very disappointed and was overcharged more than $50.Neil R.
Get rid of the new policies about taking pictures of the location when you drop off the truck. Also, offer ALL possible locations online for rental returns. We only were give a few, and none of them were the location closest to our home. Although the staff at the pick up location said we could return to ANY location, that was not the case. It was a hassle from beginning to end. We are DONE with UHaul!!!June M.
I reserved a 20 foot truck three weeks in advance of my move. When I can to pick it up I was told there were no 20 foot trucks available anywhere close to my location. Whats the point of reserving if your not going to get what you reserved. It cost me additional $506.00 which I plan on speaking with my attorney about. A $50.00 credit in NO WAY COMPENSATES FOR A $506.00 BILL BECAUSE YOU GUYS COULD NOT DO YOUR JOB ON RESERVATIONS. I will never ever use your services again EVER the man that gave me the truck was very nice no beaf with him but you guys suck AND i THINK MY attorney Andy Cameron WILL AGREE. thanks FOR NOTHING! BUT A BILL, I lost over 5K in my Mothers Antiques just because you guys couldn't do your job.Jewel P.

trucks were dirty. someone in front of me had paid for a dolly, but when they got there, they had no dolly. So they had to add more miles to the truck in order to go to another location and pick one up. I wish i could have returned the truck to a location closer to where I moved to. The mileage charge killed me. I won't be using Uhaul again.Shelby D.

I sent an email yesterday. My experience was horrible and so frustrating. I have never had worse customer service and will never use U-Haul again. The location my reservation was switched to was rude and did not have what I paid for and didn't tell me till after I paid. I was told I'd have to drive further away to another location to get a dolly but if I wanted more mileage added to my trip I'd have to call customer service. The third location I was sent to still didn't have what I needed and had to give me a appliance dolly. Nobody apologized ever for making me run all over town to get what I needed. My movers almost left since I was late back with the truck. Also I have always had the gas tank full when picking up a truck. Why is this not a practice of U-Haul!? Also where I've picked up in the past always walks out to the truck with me to inspect and show me which truck. Not this time! I was handed the keys and told â€œits one of the 10ft trucks out thereâ€ so I tried the key till I found the right truck. Horrible horrible customer service.Lindsay D.

The business renting out the U Hauls is not the reason for the poor review. Everything was fine. My problem is with U Haul's online and over the phone reservation system. An event was relying on me for tables and without the U Haul, I could not get tables. I was guaranteed a truck at a location, which I took an hour long bus ride to pick up and when I got there it was not there. Not because of the business renting out but because of the terrible reservation process U Haul has in place. This was a catastrophe averted but if I had not been able to pick up the tables?! The event would have had no tables!!!Rachel L.

This was a horrible experience with U-Haul. There was one guy working in the gas station, so while he was trying to check me in and get me set up to take my U-Haul, he stopped multiple times to help the customers buying things. He did not provide me with a receipt or contract and I never signed anything. He refused to help me attach the trailer to my car, so I had to call someone to come help me. He did not check the car was correct for the trailer size or make sure it was connected properly. The trailer was dirty inside. I would never use this location again.Danielle B.

After spending the time to do the online check in took 45 min to pick up trailer. After the 45 min said I was good to go without getting any info from me. Was then told trailer was out back and can take it go. Pulled around had to hook up trailer myself perform safety check with no one back there to assist. While I was doing all this one employee left in car and I was working. I called Uhaul customer care to inform them. Told I would be contacted within 48 hours. That was 6 days ago!! No call!! Clearly Uhaul could care less for customer safety and satisfaction. Would go with Budget or Penske before ever going back to company to busy to call back on a major safety concern.Jason Z.

I reserved a truck for 9:00 a.m. Saturday February the 24th when I arrived at 9:00 a.m. and tried to use their fast checkout system that they boasted would only be 15 to 20 minutes to grab the truck and leave. After trying the app for 15 min. I entered the store to het the attendent to help me. He tried several times but keept getting a error message. I waited an additional hour and a 15 min for Uhaul systems to recognize my appointment and allow me to rent the truck. When I contacted Uhaul about the hour and a 1/2 that I had to pay the movers to wait at my house they offered nothing for their mistake. The location attendant was quite nice and attempted to help the best they could there was no fault on their behalf this was a clear failure of the Uhaul system. If you do rent a truck from them give yourself a couple hours because if their systems are down they're not going to help you Or offer you anything for the inconvenience that they caused.Daniel F.

When you reserve an 8 am appointment don't tell your customer that because you just opened you can't have your truck until 9am. Told me to come back in an hour. Truck was dirty inside and out. The woman who made my reservation on the phone was very short with me and didn't say anything to me about different insurance types. The pick up location was very odd for a moving truck and didn't make me feel comfortable. The man who signed me in was not very helpful, when I asked if I could add another driver, he insisted not to because it would take too long and he kept stopping the process to sell cigarettes and drinks to other customers because the pick up location was a gas station/food stop where he was the only employee. I would never recommend this location to anyone and probably won't use Uhaul again after this even though it's always been my go-to for moving in the past.Stephanie L.

I just had an awful experience at this Uhaul location. The man that helped us outright lied to us about the reservation I had. PRINT YOUR CONFIRMATION IF YOU WANT TO GET WHAT YOU ASK FOR. He charged us for two of the three dollys on our reservation but when we went to collect both the utility dolly and appliance dolly he tried to say we only paid for the smaller one. After showing him the receipt HE HAD JUST HANDED us he relented and let us take both. But when asked about the furniture dolly he said we hadn't asked for it. I have my original printed reservation confirmation that says otherwise. I didn't feel like fighting him on it so we left the store front. Only to then get in the cab of the UHaul and be absolutely disgusted. The previous renters had left trash and cigarettes everywhere in the cab (I'm sure the review doesn't allow pictures because of this very reason!!! I would love to share what I have) Hugely disappointed in the whole process, but cant do much now as we have to get stuff done! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!!!Timaree B.
