I booked a 15' truck pickup 3KM away from my home Friday June 28 at Kensington Auto. The day before pickup I received a call from U-Haul saying my pickup was in another city, Chestermere... I had no choice but to accept being the day before my move, after a $40 Uber ride to another city it turns out there were no 15' trucks available, forced again to pay more for a 20' truck I didn't need the extra storage. Also I told the man on the phone booking the truck I needed it until Sunday, he booked me for an extra day on Monday and charged even more! Just brutal!

Do a better job preparing the truck. It was dirty and the box had dirt and broken glass on the floor. The cab was pretty dirty as well. The counter service was fine but not very informative. The guys were polite but quiet.

The truck seemed rough when we picked it up but we had just had a winter storm. I drove it to our house. Waited a few hours for the movers we hired for them to say there was no way they could load that truck because the brakes were gone and loaded they could kill someone. They were shocked I could get it home. We had to use their truck which was much smaller and resulted in more trips which cost more. Then u haul location would not refund my deposit saying that I drove off the lot. So I ended up paying for a truck I couldn't use, had to pay more for the movers and overall would never ever ever recommend the location again. I'm scared they will rent out that truck to someone else and donations will get hurt.

The truck had the worst shake to it. I have NEVER driven a JH with such bad shocks. Unless it was one of the old in town trucks from the early 2000's A lot of my things were damaged due to this. I'm not impressed at all.

What a terrible experience at U-Haul in Chestermere AB. I had pre-booked a 20ft. U-Haul on March 8th, along with 3 dozen pads (36), 1 utility dolly and 1 tow dolly along with the movers. I did the express check in online when I booked the U-Haul. On the morning of March 29, I arrived in Chestermere AB, to pick up my U-Haul. A man named Irfan Akram was having trouble with the computer. He could not find our previously made order. He tried to process a payment on my wife's credit card twice and then my father-in-law's card was also charged twice. I was also told that the deposit I had previously paid has not gone through. My wife's credit card was charged for $173.82 on March 8 for the deposit. I was then told each bag of pads had 12 pads, I came to find out later each one only had 4-6. I paid for 36 pads total but only received 18. The truck only had 1/4 tank of gas when I got in it. I was told this is normal because if they fill the tanks then people siphon gas out of them. Last time I rented a U-Haul I got it with a full tank of gas and returned it the same way. The tow dolly was not set up or ready to go. I spent a total of almost 2 hours trying to get all my things in order. Im not sure what the point of express check in is when I have to wait that long. Irfan was serving other customers in between trying to help us, he was also swearing, super unprofessional. The customer service I received was not good whatsoever and I am very disappointed with it. I would like to be credited for the costs of things that we overpaid for and the deposit which was paid twice. I would also like our credit cards to be refunded from the multiple overcharges.

The agent needed more training! First thing I did was say I am here to rent a truck. He said what do you mean? Once that was straightened out I said I have done Express checkout. He said what is that? Eventually got the checkout done but I was not told that the truck was not full of gas!! Found that out after driving 31 miles. It was not till next day by going online that I found out how your fuel system worked because I thought the truck had to be returned full of gas - $110! Luckily I found out before filling up. I have bought a trailer hitch at your Argyle location in Edmonton and they were great!!!!

The clerk gave me the wrong millage on the form. I confirmed on the odometer and he did fix it. The same thing happened to the people picking up before me. The people before me also said that the location didn't open in time for them to pick up their truck at the right time.

Hi, firstly the truck was very dirty in the back and I needed to sweep it out twice to make it bearable. Secondly, I was charged extra for not having the correct fuel which in fact I did have the correct amount. I contacted U-Haul traffic and explain the situation which they were most excellent at fixing. I’m concerned about the manner of how that location conducts their business. The pictures he provided as prove were of two separate photos. One being the vehicle I rented of the mileage but (what I suspect) only the mileage and not the fuel which doesn’t correlate and a different picture of another trucks fuel level showing a much lower level and hence his claim on being able to charge extra. I have my own fuel receipt showing I paid $50 just 15 mins prior to dropping off as well given I drove only 30 miles there is NO way I could have used more gas. In fact I slightly over filled it but to have him charge me an extra $136 is a sever insult! On a final note I arrived just before their scheduled closing time only to find they were closed and further no drop off box was available for me to securely leave the key. I handed it to the next door business owner as he came out to enquire what I was looking for and once explaining the situation he said he could accept the key as he is good friends with the U-Haul representative and would hand in for me. In truth it was a very uncomfortable situation to be in and further given the extra charges I can certainly say I’ll never use that location and I suggest you keep a watchful eye on the way he conducts his business. The truck that was allocated for us had one head light and no ramp. We were driving to another city so we didn't want to go on a dark hiway like that. We went back to get a different truck. It ended up taking 45 to 50 mins to pick up. Also the attendant was new and was not familiar with the process. He was the only one there so he had to serve customers between rentals. On a positive he kept his cool and was pleasant and apologetic.

At 12:19 receive call about order I placed over a month ago, will not be available. (2 hours and 41 minutes before scheduled pick up time, again booked over a month ago). Was told drive to Chestermere to pick up vehicle given no discount, apology, or explanation, for inconvenience, by uhaul representative Angela Was told I had 50km free kilometres, so should be satisfied with this new plan to rent, even though this is an issue on uhaul’s end. “Was told to take it or leave it and be out a truck for moving my house” “and to find another way” by now a very rude, confrontational, unhelpful, Angela. She was still going to charge me a $50 change fee for this brillant plan of hers. Drove to Chestermere Uhaul, where represented seemed not trained and unsure of what to do. Took and hour to sign paperwork even though I walked right up to counter. Was kept being pushed to side so people could purchase convenience store items. Was told no blankets even though I ordered them again over a month in advance. No refund offered. Get out to vehicle and do walk around start it up and it’s stuck in foot high snow. Evidence shows someone else tried to get vehicle out with no luck. Stuck in massive ruts where tires had been spun by previous attempts. Spend another hour digging my own truck out. Representative watched from window. Discovered extra large dolly, again pre ordered a month in advance, not on truck. Representative doesn’t have proper key to unlock dolly so was told to just take smaller one or nothing. Cabin and rear compartment very filthy and have video evidence and documentation of everything. Drive home. One of the windshield wipers doesn’t work. Rear door extremely sticky on closing and requires two people to close door and latch. Receive text at 06:09pm, day I picked up vehicle, informing me that instead of agreed apon drop location by Angela of Uhaul Kensington, as this was my original booking pickup location, it is now a drop off location of Blackfoot Uhaul. I recorded conversation with representative Angela and can prove I was clearly lied too. My hope competent competitors come into this market. Uhaul wouldn’t last long as a viable business.

The trailer I had reserved wasn't there, I reserved a 6 by 12 and all they had was a 4 by 8. They did give me a discount however.

Trailer was not cleaned out, trailer electrical connection was corroded and required cleaning. Reservation was initially for a different location, this was 20 minutes away from me when I was already in a rush to pack it. I was not in the system when I showed up to rent the trailer and had to wait another 15 minutes while the attendant struggled through entering my details. Attendant did not come out and check on the trailer or assist in hooking it up, and did not have any 7-blade to 4-pin adapters in stock, so advised me to drive to the next town with no signals and buy an adapter somewhere else.

We were gifted a free day, in Lake Havasu, only to be charged $40.00 for the "free" day, in Calgary. I feel we are due the charge refunded and that the employee made a mistake.It was very difficult to understand the employee due to language differences. It might be helpful for the employee to be a bit more fluent in English. I'm sure it is just as frustrating for the employee as it is for the customer.

I have been consistently scammed by this location (Double paying for insurances, over paying for gas fills etc.). The service is usually very rude and not helpful. This last time they forgot to get the products I preordered for my move, then told me to make an hour round trip to the nearest location to pick up the things I ordered. Of course, I did not have time to make this drive before packing up the truck. The reason I preordered everything was because I had a tight time frame. As a result my furniture ended being damaged in transport. The trucks alignment was out. So, during my 12 hour drive I was constantly correcting the steering. 3 of the tires were nearly bald and the interior was extremely unclean (spills all over and animal fur). I had to clean the cab myself before the trip.

Over time I would like to see the pickup yard improved from the sand and (mud when it's wet and raining) to a better surface. The pickup was just OK. It seemed almost as if the entire booking I did online wasn't captured or ready because a whole bunch of information I had pre-filled in with the booking was asked again. So in my opinion a little laborious and repeatative. Also the keys were just handed to me and I was told to check things over and if any problems were noticed I can just come and make them aware of it. I would have expected to at least be shown where the unit was located, however it seemed as if the rental person had better things to do than make sure the equipment was in a proper state and cleaned to Uhaul specifications for rental. The drop off was smoother, although an odd question 'Did I pickup the rental at this location?', was a very interesting question to ask. This did however not effect the much faster drop off. The truck was clean and functioned well. No issues of any nature were picked up. As always I am impressed with the value for rental.

Have things better organized! I had to move the trailer by hand a move another UHAUL Truck to get a my trailer and on top of that, I had to pay for 2 days of rent whe I had only reserved it for 1. The UHAUL Web site did not say it would cost 2 times as much. So I have to pay for 2 days instead of 1!!!! Not cool!!!! Very dissatisfied with UHAUL. 2 thumbs down

I told the owner the truck was not clean, including the cab, and he said that is the "norm" for how they are returned and sent out. In Brooks, I was informed (as I thought) that this was NOT the "norm". I have pictures. Also, I was told it was ½ full, it was not. I found a dent on the side and was told it is recorded int he system, I had the owner add it to both copies of the rental agreement. He seemed to be getting frustrated with the fact that I was trying to cover my butt. I did not want to get charged on the other end.

I am so disappointed with my experience with the Chestermere Gas Plus location. First of all I spent forever trying to "check in" online to get my truck. The Reservation was at nine thirty, but I did finish the online check in until well after ten, making me late for my move in. Then I go in to get the truck and the attendant said the truck I reserved was already gone so all that time I spent online was for nothing. Then it took him at least twenty minutes to get another truck. He was very quiet and did not tell us anything about the truck. The attendant was also VERY rude and not accommodating at all. We took the keys and the man gave us absolutely no instructions whatsoever regarding what to do with the truck after or anything. Also, the truck cost about twenty dollars more than the estimate was online and the attendant did not explain the reason behind that either. I didn't have time to ask at that point becuase I was so late to meet my landlord. So completed my move and brought the truck back on time. We gave the keys back with no word from the attendant. About an hour later he called me saying I didn't put gas in the truck and would be charged for that as well. I stated that I was not informed of that when I took the truck and was given no direction at all or I would have put gas in the truck. He also did not tell me how much I would be charged for the gas. The man was extremely rude on the phone and even hung up on me. At this point I would like to be contacted by management and would like to be reimbursed for this experience as it was absolutely terrible and completely ruined my moving day becuase of the lack of organization and rudeness on your employee's end. I am very disappointed in this location and will be informing others not to use it.

I called the number and I guess I was talking to a dispatch some ware else and she said the dolly I wanted was available. But because I didn’t have a c card she said she couldn’t promise “it would be there when I got there” so I rushed to get to the depo to collect the dolly. They said “we don’t have one”. And that the one they had “was reserved”. I’ve i could recommend an improvement, the dispatch could be more involved in the research cause the staff on site fixed the problem, they confirmed a dolly in the city and reserved the one even though I didn’t have a ccard. I will always go there cause the staff at black foot trail in calgary are very helpful. They do seem a bit under staffed though.

We were disappointed that the trailer we had reserved a month prior to pickup, wasn’t available until 3 hours later than booked, and it wasn’t even available in the same city that we booked it. We had to travel outside the city to pick up our U-Haul. We lost half a day of packing.

Do not allow someone to reserve a trailer that you do not have. Especially when they call in and confirm 2x. Every other location I have been- they attach the trailer- would have been great especially since the mechanism on the trailer was acting up.

Clerk kept putting me aside to sell smokes and coffee. Did not go out and go over trailer, which I found dirty and with low tires, which I took care of myself. Would chose a different location next time and one which is closer to the pick up location I initially picked.

Vehicle ordered was not available and they wanted to charge me more (a lot more) for a larger vehicle. Vehicle received was very dirty inside, dried mud, cigarette ends and grit everywhere. If I did not need that vehicle right there and then I would have walked away. Fuel level was 1/4 tank, how can anyone accurately work out fuel used? CAR rentals either go back empty or full. Would I recommend U-haul.............no, bad experience.

I had to get the police involved because the owner literally stole my fucking credit card. It's all on video. You won't bother to review it. Fuck, I will never, ever come back to you, ever again. You rented me an unplated vehicle. You charged me for a second vehicle. I had to call the fucking cops to get my CC back after my bank explicitly told me to call the cops. I have the whole thing on video. He has the whole thing on video. I was on hold for six fucking hours trying to get this resolved. I'm a nice person, but since you guys can't be fucked to review the video it appears you don't give a single fuck about your clients. Never - ever - ever - again, and I will make it my lifes work to shit talk U-Haul forever unless you rectify the three days of my life I lost because of you.

trailer was very dirty! lights didn't work properly and they "sales" guys told me to drive 40 minutes back into Calgary to have U-haul in Calgary fix the issues. this cost me about 2.5 hours of my day and gas money. when i left the Uhaul in Calgary and had loaded the trailer i heard a squealing noise. the right fender light cover had partially fallen off and was scrapping the tire! had to get this fixed also. very unimpressed with equipment and also the amount of time and money i spent getting if fixed. i would love a refund for partial or all of this headache. The cab was full of garbage. Half eaten blizzard from Dairy Queen. Tim Hortons cups and garbage all over the floor. The back of the truck had a broken door causing two broken fingers. The box was full of loose nails screws and garbage. The right headlight was out and the Steering fluid registered at 0 causing me to stop half way and purchase fluid as I could no longer steer the truck. Was given misguided information as to how and where to drop the truck off resulting in an additional 50 km drive. Zero assistance Until I returned it. Unbelievably dissatisfied!

Took the man behind the counter almost a hour to do up the paper work and we hooked up our own trailer after telling him we didn't know what we were doing and had never rented a trailer before. After leaving we made it to Brooks alberta from calgary Alberta and were pulled over by the cops who told us the trailer lights were not working and we couldn't continue on our trip.

No customer service. Young kid talked in his language on a head set the whole time dealing with us. Took forever. Then the vehicle was so stuck in the snow we couldn’t get it out. We asked for another vehicle after he attempted to get it unstuck, leaving it in gear while he shoveled around the tires. What a joke, a danger to himself and others. When we returned it, my husband asked for a discount. The older gentleman in the afternoon was much more pleasant to deal with.

The running lights didn't work I mention it to the worker he's like yeah okay whatever kind of thing the safety latch on the ball did not work it clearly says do not drive if not engaged I mentioned it to the worker he said all that's been broken for a while all in all if I would have known this and I wasn't in a bind I would have never used this trailer

It took my son and the guy from the gas station a half hour to dig the trailer hitch out of the ice. The driver side tail light on the trailer was flopping around although it worked. The trailer was very dirty on the outside but it is winter conditions so understandable.

We had to dig out the truck with a shovel because it was stuck. We had to carry all the furniture pads to the truck ourselves. No one checked it before we left. No one checked it when we came back. We had to take pictures of the gas gauge and speedometer and carry all the furniture pads back in for the guy. Also, the gas was at 7/16 when we picked it up.How do you expect us to get it back to exactly that amount when we fill it? It should always be full and then we just need to fill it up again. I will never go back there again. What a waste of my time and money.

Billing was done in mileage over kilometres. Had to convert to double check against billing rate I was quoted. Truck was previously used and not cleaned. Smelt like smoke and pee in the cab. Not impressed Will be looking at other companies next time.

I will absolutely NEVER use any uhual service ever again as the company itself is dishonest does not keep promises.. secretly charges hidden charges. Upon placing reservation I was told that I would be paying one amount when the reality ended up costing 400 dollars more than what I was told.. horrible experience this is not my first poor experience with this company but It will be my last.. I'll be sure to let everyone know how awful this company is!
