I booked a 15' truck pickup 3KM away from my home Friday June 28 at Kensington Auto. The day before pickup I received a call from U-Haul saying my pickup was in another city, Chestermere... I had no choice but to accept being the day before my move, after a $40 Uber ride to another city it turns out there were no 15' trucks available, forced again to pay more for a 20' truck I didn't need the extra storage. Also I told the man on the phone booking the truck I needed it until Sunday, he booked me for an extra day on Monday and charged even more! Just brutal!

Do a better job preparing the truck. It was dirty and the box had dirt and broken glass on the floor. The cab was pretty dirty as well. The counter service was fine but not very informative. The guys were polite but quiet.

The truck seemed rough when we picked it up but we had just had a winter storm. I drove it to our house. Waited a few hours for the movers we hired for them to say there was no way they could load that truck because the brakes were gone and loaded they could kill someone. They were shocked I could get it home. We had to use their truck which was much smaller and resulted in more trips which cost more. Then u haul location would not refund my deposit saying that I drove off the lot. So I ended up paying for a truck I couldn't use, had to pay more for the movers and overall would never ever ever recommend the location again. I'm scared they will rent out that truck to someone else and donations will get hurt.

The truck had the worst shake to it. I have NEVER driven a JH with such bad shocks. Unless it was one of the old in town trucks from the early 2000's A lot of my things were damaged due to this. I'm not impressed at all.

What a terrible experience at U-Haul in Chestermere AB. I had pre-booked a 20ft. U-Haul on March 8th, along with 3 dozen pads (36), 1 utility dolly and 1 tow dolly along with the movers. I did the express check in online when I booked the U-Haul. On the morning of March 29, I arrived in Chestermere AB, to pick up my U-Haul. A man named Irfan Akram was having trouble with the computer. He could not find our previously made order. He tried to process a payment on my wife's credit card twice and then my father-in-law's card was also charged twice. I was also told that the deposit I had previously paid has not gone through. My wife's credit card was charged for $173.82 on March 8 for the deposit. I was then told each bag of pads had 12 pads, I came to find out later each one only had 4-6. I paid for 36 pads total but only received 18. The truck only had 1/4 tank of gas when I got in it. I was told this is normal because if they fill the tanks then people siphon gas out of them. Last time I rented a U-Haul I got it with a full tank of gas and returned it the same way. The tow dolly was not set up or ready to go. I spent a total of almost 2 hours trying to get all my things in order. Im not sure what the point of express check in is when I have to wait that long. Irfan was serving other customers in between trying to help us, he was also swearing, super unprofessional. The customer service I received was not good whatsoever and I am very disappointed with it. I would like to be credited for the costs of things that we overpaid for and the deposit which was paid twice. I would also like our credit cards to be refunded from the multiple overcharges.

The agent needed more training! First thing I did was say I am here to rent a truck. He said what do you mean? Once that was straightened out I said I have done Express checkout. He said what is that? Eventually got the checkout done but I was not told that the truck was not full of gas!! Found that out after driving 31 miles. It was not till next day by going online that I found out how your fuel system worked because I thought the truck had to be returned full of gas - $110! Luckily I found out before filling up. I have bought a trailer hitch at your Argyle location in Edmonton and they were great!!!!

The clerk gave me the wrong millage on the form. I confirmed on the odometer and he did fix it. The same thing happened to the people picking up before me. The people before me also said that the location didn't open in time for them to pick up their truck at the right time.

Hi, firstly the truck was very dirty in the back and I needed to sweep it out twice to make it bearable. Secondly, I was charged extra for not having the correct fuel which in fact I did have the correct amount. I contacted U-Haul traffic and explain the situation which they were most excellent at fixing. I’m concerned about the manner of how that location conducts their business. The pictures he provided as prove were of two separate photos. One being the vehicle I rented of the mileage but (what I suspect) only the mileage and not the fuel which doesn’t correlate and a different picture of another trucks fuel level showing a much lower level and hence his claim on being able to charge extra. I have my own fuel receipt showing I paid $50 just 15 mins prior to dropping off as well given I drove only 30 miles there is NO way I could have used more gas. In fact I slightly over filled it but to have him charge me an extra $136 is a sever insult! On a final note I arrived just before their scheduled closing time only to find they were closed and further no drop off box was available for me to securely leave the key. I handed it to the next door business owner as he came out to enquire what I was looking for and once explaining the situation he said he could accept the key as he is good friends with the U-Haul representative and would hand in for me. In truth it was a very uncomfortable situation to be in and further given the extra charges I can certainly say I’ll never use that location and I suggest you keep a watchful eye on the way he conducts his business. The truck that was allocated for us had one head light and no ramp. We were driving to another city so we didn't want to go on a dark hiway like that. We went back to get a different truck. It ended up taking 45 to 50 mins to pick up. Also the attendant was new and was not familiar with the process. He was the only one there so he had to serve customers between rentals. On a positive he kept his cool and was pleasant and apologetic.

At 12:19 receive call about order I placed over a month ago, will not be available. (2 hours and 41 minutes before scheduled pick up time, again booked over a month ago). Was told drive to Chestermere to pick up vehicle given no discount, apology, or explanation, for inconvenience, by uhaul representative Angela Was told I had 50km free kilometres, so should be satisfied with this new plan to rent, even though this is an issue on uhaul’s end. “Was told to take it or leave it and be out a truck for moving my house” “and to find another way” by now a very rude, confrontational, unhelpful, Angela. She was still going to charge me a $50 change fee for this brillant plan of hers. Drove to Chestermere Uhaul, where represented seemed not trained and unsure of what to do. Took and hour to sign paperwork even though I walked right up to counter. Was kept being pushed to side so people could purchase convenience store items. Was told no blankets even though I ordered them again over a month in advance. No refund offered. Get out to vehicle and do walk around start it up and it’s stuck in foot high snow. Evidence shows someone else tried to get vehicle out with no luck. Stuck in massive ruts where tires had been spun by previous attempts. Spend another hour digging my own truck out. Representative watched from window. Discovered extra large dolly, again pre ordered a month in advance, not on truck. Representative doesn’t have proper key to unlock dolly so was told to just take smaller one or nothing. Cabin and rear compartment very filthy and have video evidence and documentation of everything. Drive home. One of the windshield wipers doesn’t work. Rear door extremely sticky on closing and requires two people to close door and latch. Receive text at 06:09pm, day I picked up vehicle, informing me that instead of agreed apon drop location by Angela of Uhaul Kensington, as this was my original booking pickup location, it is now a drop off location of Blackfoot Uhaul. I recorded conversation with representative Angela and can prove I was clearly lied too. My hope competent competitors come into this market. Uhaul wouldn’t last long as a viable business.

Trailer was not cleaned out, trailer electrical connection was corroded and required cleaning. Reservation was initially for a different location, this was 20 minutes away from me when I was already in a rush to pack it. I was not in the system when I showed up to rent the trailer and had to wait another 15 minutes while the attendant struggled through entering my details. Attendant did not come out and check on the trailer or assist in hooking it up, and did not have any 7-blade to 4-pin adapters in stock, so advised me to drive to the next town with no signals and buy an adapter somewhere else.
