The trailer was not inspected prior to or at the time of hookup to make sure all lights wo rked. The only working lights were brake and turm signals!! When it got dark the person who was towing the trailer, refused to continue without funning lights on the trailer, we had to drop the car in an empty lot and the car got impounded!! How will uhaul make this right??

PAUL HNoted the gas gauge was only at 7/8th when I picked up the truck despite the paperwork indicating "Full". Went back into the office and the clerk assured me that the tank was full (i.e "that is how a full tank is displayed on these gauges"). Not 100% believing her, I went to a gas station around the corner and put 8.8 gallons into the tank. Also noted some mildly concerning mechanical noises from the truck. The clerk took it for a test drive around the block. She assured me that some of the trucks make that noise and that they haven't had too many problems. I took her up on her offer to swap me into a different truck and had no issues with the move. Of note, on the paperwork for the 2nd truck, the fuel level was correctly marked as 7/8th of a tank. My distinct perception from this experience was that it *may* be policy (or just a common practice) to over-state the contents of the fuel tank to customers. While I was refunded for the fuel I put into the 1st truck, I do feel there was an attempt to deceive me.

Julie GTried multiple times to call with no answer. Had a problem with the app location at drop off (early, night before) so I called the 800 # and they could see that which I was happy about. They also emailed the manager asking him to return my call on top of they could not get a phone call answered. I was wanting my final bill. The manager never called and they did not email me a final statement. I had to look on my credit card to see what I was charged after mileage.

TIM MThe whole process of self service pickup is unreasonable. I spent over 30 minutes trying to pickup. The key was located in a steel box that I had to spend about 10 minutes trying to get it open after I removed the lock. Turning the truck in was the same long process. I will not use this type of service again.
ROBERT HA note about “clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. The 10’ truck was well maintained except the windshield should have been washed as the bugs stuck on it were pretty thick, noticeable. The bed was not swept. Leaves, etc., were scattered on the floor and I could tell dirt had been tracked in, too. Otherwise a positive experience.

Steven HThe code for the lockbox was a bit unclear. The code I was given for the lock was three digits but the lock itself had a four digit code.
Brenna HThe truck I got needs work on the AC system, has broken traction control button and broken instrument control buttons. A warning for "service stabilitrak system" came up several times and the truck spun the tires going up a steep gravel driveway in an unsafe manor. When I let the guy at check in know he asked if I reported those issues at dispatch and said they don't report issues on in town trucks (like I would have known that stuff during dispatch). I've never had an experience like this, and do not recommend renting from anyone with that kind of "not my job, you didn't report it so its not my problem" sort of mentality and I'm not pleased. I am a mechanic and know the difference between town/haul and how the traction control, but he tried to make me feel dumb and I didn't like that either.

BONITA DWe only needed the trailer for one day, Saturday, as I work Mon-Fri. After making the reservation for to pick up the trailer Friday at 4:30, we received a call they were closed Friday and would have to pick it up Saturday. This would not work as we were leaving at 6 am Saturday. So we picked it up Thursday and they tried to charge us for 3 days. We talked them down to two days even tho we only wanted it for one day. After getting back home, I called the number number that had advised us of the Friday closure and she reduced our rental cost to one day. We appreciated that very much as we are on a strict budget.
