Great service

PORFIRIO SThe morning I was supposed to pick up my truck at a fully staffed location, I was contacted by a U-Haul representative to tell me that my reservation had been switched to a market where there was no staff to assist in case there are any issues.. From the moment I started the check-in process for the truck I rented, it was nothing but problems. The reception at the locations horrible, so my phone had trouble going through the chicken procedure. It took over 2 hours to actually check the truck out. I ordered two dozen moving pads, which were not in the back of the truck. Because this is an affiliate location, there was no one there to speak to or get any moving supplies from. So not only was I two hours late in getting my move done, I also didn't have the furniture protection I expected to protect the items I was moving. I had originally booked moving help with A Plus Movers 2 days before I actually moved. The company contacted me, and confirmed the arrival time. When the time came, they never showed up. No call, no text, nothing. After I sent repeat a text and after many calls, I never heard from them again. As a result, I had to push my move out two days which was a huge inconvenience not only to me, but also to my landlord who was very unhappy. I had also rented a truck to move on that day, which went unused. After trying to pursue a refund for the truck, I was told by the satellite location that I was unable to receive a refund due to the fact that I had the truck. They said if they refunded the money, then they would lose out because they could have rented the truck to someone else. I understand what they're saying, but this situation was out of my control. Since I was ghosted by the movers, I feel I should be refunded the cost of renting the truck. Apparently U-Haul doesn't seem to think so. When I made the second booking, I decided to go with Reliable Movers. Even though renting the truck was horrible experience, I couldn't have been more pleased or made a better decision than to go with Jeff and Andy at Reliable Movers. Not only were these guys super friendly and willing to work, they were extremely professional, efficient, and totally empathetic to what moving entails. Even when they were engaged by my neighbors, they never forgot that I was paying for their time. Jeff and Andy also treated our belongings as if they were their own. Not a single item was scratched or broken; this after having to climb six flights of stairs at least 10 times. I couldn't have chosen a better couple of guys to assist with such an important event. I give Reliable Movers 100 stars and highly recommend that anybody who is looking for any type of moving assistance to contact Jeff and Andy a Reliable Movers. You will not be disappointed. These guys truly know how to make something as stressful as moving actually fun. To be completely honest, I was kind of sad when they were done because I truly and honestly enjoyed spending time with Jeff and Andy. They don't treat you like customers, they treat you like family.. which makes our customer service second to none. I had the money, I'd move again, just to hang out with Jeff and Andy at Reliable Movers again. They're that awesome!
Larry MTruck was not clean. Smelt of urine. Had body damage. Was left on almost empty. And the return experience via the app was horrible. App would not load and had to contact customer support the next day.

john cHorrible....pick up was a nightmare, truck was in bad shape and had to be replaced on 1st day, costing me an extra day of travel. Turning in the truck....equally bad with a bad location that was closed and cost me 2 hours of extra time to return. I use to use UHaul in past moves....never again and an absolute HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE NIGHTMARE.

Jeff HI got my keys out of a self serve U-Haul and barely have an 8th of a tank of gas. as I returned it I was informed that the key box that I opened somehow have the wrong key in it and had I would have been stopped in it by police I would have got arrested for Grand theft Auto. And then charged over $1000 dollars because the truck I originally was supposed to get was heading over 100 miles away from where I was ...that is so unsatisfactory I'm so beyond displeased I payed close to $160/$170 bucks all together for a illegally loaned uhaul
LAVELLE JThe store attendant didn't know how to confirm the terms of agreement and give me the proper uhaul, so he called his boss. And so I'm on the phone with his boss to get it sorted with, before driving off with it. Okay so after I confirm my order for a uhaul with his boss lady I get a confirmation on my email and text. The text has the license number of the truck I specifically wanted/asked for. But the mother fucking smoker skinny ass man store clerk gives me the wrong key. I go up to the uhaul and I'm trying the locks, plus the code on it doesn't match. SO I GO BACK INSIDE and tell the guy. SO I FUCK8NG ASK my male friend to come inside with me cuz I know the store clerk isn't gonna listen to me and I need a man as back up. Becuz sometime men WILL LITERALLY LISTEN TO OTHER MEN but not to women?!. OH AND ON TOP OF EVERYTHING I SPECIFICALLY DIDNT WANT TO RENT FROM THIS LOCATION AND HAD ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED IT AT SOME PLACE ELSE.
Angela PThe size truck I wanted was not available at the main U-Haul location, the suggested location with that size available is much closer to me, I thought I might save some time and it might even make pick-up and drop off easier. I rent U-Haul trucks about 3 or 4 times a year for my work but have never used an alternative location or the 24/7 rental service, self check-in feature. I always go to the main facility because they make pick-up and drop off so incredibly easy and the staff is always helpful and quick to trouble shoot an issue for you. It started with my trouble logging in to get my reservation. When I finally retrieved it, the three trucks in the parking lot did not match. Inside the gentleman tried to help. I walked back out to the trucks to double checked the numbers, none of the trucks matched. I went back inside and the cashier came out and looked at my reservation and said "Its this truck right here, but this one just came in, I don't know if it can go out." He was on hold for more than 15 minutes, but he was able to verify that I had the reservation and he could give me the keys. I started to finish the check out this is when I noticed that the truck barley had a 1/4 tank of gas and a low tire indicated. I was already running behind and could not sit through a truck change.. I drove about 2 miles to my place of work stopping to fill up the tank and put air in the tire. When we loaded the truck up, we could tell the truck had not been swept out. Check out was hard too but that was web site failure, it took a half an hour for the e-mail to get to me. By than the very helpful people at Gojo Market had processed my check out and relieved of the keys. I am used to getting the truck at least 3/4 full and having been inspected (and maintained as need) prior to my use. I will most likely sick to going out to the main location.
SaraJean WThe truck I had smelled of cigarette smoke, and had multiple cigarette burns on the inside. The low tire light was on which caused me to have to call in and have time extended to put air in. This didn't work and the light stayed on. Also the drivers door was difficult to close so the done light often stayed on. Maybe because of the self check out/check in this vehicle is not properly being maintained.

Scott SWhen I reserved a trailer, the first location was Bidwell Self-Storage. I received an update from U-Haul stating the change to Gojo Market for pickup. Gojo Market is actually closer to where we were using the trailer, so I appreciate the change. However, Gojo Market opens at 10 AM. I reserved the trailer for 9 AM. Something appears to not have transferred correctly about the rental time. To ensure other customers do not have to wait around, it would be beneficial for U-Haul to ensure that updating a rental location also corrects the rental time if the new facility has different hours.

Christopher MThe process to complete the online reservation was not very clear and I needed to do it 3 times. The. When I went to the location, it was not in their system as completed. This was very inconvenient since the manager was not on site. Luckily the store clerk was able to get a hold of her to talk me through completing the process. If she had not been available this would have been a lot more difficult. It was do to the online process not the store employees.

Erin CI was first under the impression that my transaction was seamless and easy, but I ended up being greatly overcharged for the mileage. I wish I was told in person I would receive a text where I needed to input miles. Other locations have never given me this problem. It was reflected that I possessed the truck for multiple hours, when I returned the truck in less than a hour. I only had to move a couch 2 miles away.

Rob BI wouldn’t recommend they go alone or after hours, it’s not an super safe part of town. I also would warn it’s incredibly difficult to safely pull in and out. However they were friendly and made our experience easier. U-Haul is super expensive for young college or young families without a lot of connections to trucks to move just apartments across town.

osbert jU-hual is the worst for scheduling a location were to pickup a truck. I spent more than $200.00 in fuel going to Chico CA to get a truck. I had scheduled the truck a month in advance.

addis dThe truck worked fine, but was dusty and there was sand on the floor. The people there were helpful but it wasn’t fast. I finally went to the app and they app sucks, but I finally got it to work. The app was also frustrating when turning in the truck.
Rachel EThe truck was clean inside but needed an exterior wash; a Uhaul employee was not at the site to answer any questions, or to help with difficulties. It took just under two hours to return the truck because their website was down and there was a long wait time for customer service to pick up the phone. A company that is completely reliant on the internet and void of human interaction is eroding the very essence of what humanity and customer service is all about. Uhaul has essentially epitomized the concept of greed in charging the same prices, yet expecting the customer to do all the work, and if you require assistance, they charge you more fees. Bring back the friendly customer service agents! Bring back human interaction! Make the Uhaul experience better by letting TRAINED employees check out and check in trucks so the customer is not left fumbling with phone settings, feeling overwhelmed, or stuck for long periods if the website is down. Don’t make customers to YOUR job Uhaul! Make it more simple for the customer who is already under stress in having to move.

Curtis KCustomer service was great- quick, easy, professional checkin and checkout. Truck was available as promised on time. Truck could use some better maintenance- seatbelt in poor condition and trash was left by previous user in truck bed and cab. Additionally I was charged $14 protection plan when I specifically declined the option- that was an unappreciated unauthorized charge.
Angela CI’ve rented from this location twice and requested a dolly with my online reservations, which I never received. The first time I wasn’t charged. The 2nd time I was charged and never reimbursed. I just emailed 719001_AFM@uhaul.com for the third time to get my money back.
MONA NThe truck was filthy when we picked it up. There were peanuts spilled on the floor, the steering wheel was sticky, and the outside of the front windshield was so dirty, it had to be washed before it was safe to drive. After the inspection of the vehicle, I noted these on the app, and haul still had the nerve to charge me a cleaning fee. I will be contacting my bank and disputing all charges.I will be contacting the BBB and filing a complaint. I will also contact the CDC, because these units are supposed to be sanitized prior to rental, and this unit could not have been. This was a disgusting experience and I’m going to let anyone who will listen know.
Mark CWe love U-Haul and have used the services of this company for many decades in different states. Ninety-nine percent of the time U-Haul gets everything right. So, we are fans. The recent experience was a mixed bag, though. Pros: brand new, beautiful cargo van ran great. Cons: so dirty we had to take it to a car wash before starting our move, and the windshield washer fluid reservoir was empty and had to spend too much time cleaning the windshield. Would have been nice to have the attendant who rented us the truck show us a few things about it, such as how to turn the interior lights on. Over all the van performed very well and we were satisfied. A 99% satisfaction rate is fantastic. No one is better than U-Haul!
