Having said the equipment was well maintained, I do need to mention the both mirrors were not working properly. The driver mirror was not movable at all and was in a position that I had to move my head forward almost over the steering wheel to get a proper view of traffic in the Lane next to me. The passenger side mirror drooped down showing the near ground within seconds of driving. I had to move my head down as far as possible to see the lane to the right of me. Pretty annoying. I readjusted it 4 times and it moved every time.ROBERT W.

Once I got to my destination, I noticed the storage area smelled like something died in it. I observed fish hooks on the floor. Someone obviously was storing and transporting fish before I got the truck and it wasn't cleaned.TRACY S.
The truck is the worst U-Haul I have ever rented and I have rented dozens in at least five states over the last 20+ years. Sticky soda puddles on the floor of the cab and in the cup holders. Food crumbs and even half potato chips on the floor of the cab. The back had not been cleaned at all and not just by the last user. There were remains of a dead animal in there and it smelled AWFUL! I could only stand in the back of the truck for about 60 seconds before I felt like I was going to retch. The "fluids" of the dead animal had soaked into the wood floor. The suspension on the truck was lousy. I know its a truck, but driving it empty, I was pogosticking all over the place on the smallest bumps and any rough asphalt or pot holes hurt my back and neck. I only drove the truck a total of about 20 miles and had to use it to transport a wheel chair (35 pounds) and a Hoyer lift (65 pounds) and my back hurts. It hurt before I even picked up those items after my first 10 miles of driving to get them.Kevin S.
the truck I was to rent, got stolen the night before. I received a call 10 minutes prior to my arrival that the truck was stolen and that I would get a call from UHaul when they had another truck available. Well, that doesn't work does it! I drove 50 miles to get there to be called and told I was out of luck and I should wait by my phone for another truck. I decided to go to Guzman Tires to pick up another vehicle. It wasn't without a hassle. When I returned the vehicle, no one was there, no sign, no message, couldn't leave a voicemail as the mailbox is full. Another customer was waiting for their rental truck and no one was there. I can only assume they were out to lunch but a sign would be nice. I would not recommend this place to anyone I liked!Suzanne S.
The place was small There was a lot of foot traffic and maneuvering a big u haul truck was difficult. The absolute worse experience was having to use the truck that was not cleaned by the previous renter. The truck smelled like cow poop. The smell lingered the entire day even after the back stay opened for hours. Our clothes and items still stink. I will never rent from u haulWilliam S.

Ensure the equipment that customers reserve is actually available at the pickup location. Employee at this location cited that situations like ours frequently occurred where a dolly or additional equipment was reserved but is not available. I imagine this is true for all locations that are not solely U-Haul facilities.Anthony B.

The person at this location was not to friendly. I asked for a receipt for the drop off of the trailer, but he told me that he emailed it to me. I Express that I didn't receive it and he told me that I just needed to trust him. I replied by telling him that that's not how I do business. Then he laughed, and I asked him what was, so funny and I told him I didn't think it was funny. He replied by telling me that he was sorry that I take things so seriously. U-Haul sent me to a city 45 minutes away for pickup when there are more than 5 locations within a mile of my home, even when I reserved it a month in advance! They said that they would give me extra miles for the trip, but ended up charging $9 for gas, even though I filled it up the way I got it. Not to say anything for the 1-1/2 hours I spent that I didn't have.Ron H.

The U-Haul dolly was a wreck. Straps were frayed, ratchet mechanism didn't hold well, the plastics on the trailer were both damaged badly. A chain securing device was missing. The safety chains were two different lengths, the guy who hooked it to my car just let the straps to drag behind the tow dolly. I had to secure them myself. The location was obscure, and where I was supposed to pick it up from was not labeled as a U-Haul place. Then they didn't have it, so I had to drive to a second location. One tire harness completely came off in transit. I was lucky I was smart enough to be checking it. That dolly should be retired, in my opinion. They took no respinsibility for its condition. My pick-up location was changed, but the change was poorly communicated. I received an email right after doing the on-line check-in, titled "your reservation has been updated". I thought it was a confirmation of my check-in. As it didn't actually mention the location change until after COVID policy and other some other stuff (well down the screen on a smart phone). As a result, so I missed the change, which caused me to have to drive about 80 miles out of my way and waste 2 hours when I was trying to start a 1800 mile trip. When I got to the correct location, the car dolly's lights didn't work and the staff didn't know how to load/secure the car to the dolly. They expected me to figure it out. The non-functioning light actually fell out of the fender of the car dolly, and was hanging by its wires by day 2 of the trip. I taped it back in so I wouldn't get into trouble with law enforcement. I made my appt. for Watsonville, received a call from Sandra, stating no truck is available in Watsonville, have to go to Gilroy. Then several more calls, each one, either they couldn't find my order, or never heard of me. Finally, picked up the truck, none of the items I scheduled to go with the truck were on the order???? However they did come up with everything except the utility dolly. I was told, NEVER schedule online with U-Haul, they always mess it up. You have to CALL AND MAKE RESERVATIONS.ROBIN A.
