The equipment was clean but pretty beat up. The big issue though was that when I showed up to pick up my reservation, I got a message that no vehicle had been reserved, even though I had a reservation confirmation. It sounds like they'd double booked one of the vehicles, but it took me half an hour on the phone to get it resolved. The resolution was to put me in a small truck that was also on site instead of the van. When they made the "new" reservation, they made it for my original start time even though it was then 30 minutes later, and I didn't catch that at the time. Then I got the text reminder that my rental was expiring, and realized I was going to be 30 minutes late since through NO FAULT OF MY OWN I had started 30 minutes late. I then was on hold FOR AN HOUR-- I called half an hour early to try to extend, and staid on hold until half an hour after I had returned the vehicle, and finally gave up and hung up. The extra charges ended up being negligible, but next time I need a vehicle I'll be using Home Depot.Rachel R.

The experience was good. I appreciate the location and ease of access. The large loading dock and hand carts made everything easy. Total 5 stars once checked in. My only questionable moment was the person who signed us up. I honestly thought for a moment whether he did not work there and I was on prank camera. We made four trips up to the storage area (with my 2 year old) for him to try to find the right unit. He did not appear to understand how to use the reservation system on the computer. I had preregistered and paid online and it still took nearly an hour to get checked in. Then to find out there are hidden fees like a $25 fee that you can wave if you leave a review on social media? Also a one time check-in fee and a lock fee, that are not listed obviously on the website when you reserve? Guys this is a great facility but that is a scammy structure. Are hidden fees just part of the deal for storage ? An hour in I politely said I was walking away if he could not assign me a unit and waive this $25 review fee I did not know about until now. I paid for two dollys. One regular and one appliance dolly. only the appliance dolly was in the truck when I picked up. it was after hours so I just had to deal without it, but Uhaul charged me for it. Also know that after hours pickup means you have to deal with the Uhaul app. It took me 30 minutes and a phone call to support to get through it. Then 30 minutes at drop off. Super frustrating. Ive never had any issues with uhaul in the past. Ive used their services many time and have been greatly appreciative of their customer service, their vehicles, and overall experience. The app is absolute trash. This was the first time ive ever used a mobile pickup and it was not easy. It took easily twice as long using the app as when picking up a vehicle during work hours. The gentleman that helped me was very kind and despite having an issue, he went above and beyond to solve the problem. I had rented a cargo van, but someone had parked their car in front of the cargo van and we could not get the van out of the parking spot. I was on a very tight timeline and could not afford to be late. He was making phone calls to managers trying to problem solve and they ended up upgrading my rental to a truck. My only suggestion to the company is to ensure that they place signs in the area asking people not to block the driveway so renters can get their trucks out.Demelza P.
The original size requested unavailable resulted in needing to take two trips which wasn't great but it's ok. There were not enough parking spots for returning it so I used one of the spots set aside for the customers of the storage facility that hosts the U-Haul. Fix the app. If you ever have issues picking up a vehicle, you may look up" vehicle pick up" and it took me in an instant instead of being on the phone for over an hour trying to pick up my rental truck.Jonathan S.

Insure that the lockbox works properly for the customer to be able to get the keys for the rental truck. I arrived on time and could not the lock to open and had someone else to try and they could not either. I called the help number and number answered to assist or advise. Thus I had to wait until almost 3 hours later to get the vehicle. Meanwhile, I had movers waiting so I had to pay them extra out of my pocket because of this inconvenience. The manager said he would discount the transaction but then when it was time to do it, he claimed that the sysytem would not let him. Positives: It was very clean and secure. I'm very satisfied on how well maintained my furniture was after over 2 years of being in the storage unit. The elevator and access points were very comfortable too. Negatives: I understand I was one of the first tenants during peak Covid while this storage facility was being completed. While moving out, I tried finding my access code to the building for after office hours and could not find any information of an access code ever being provided. Leave the correct keys in the lock box for the vehicle that was reserved, and give at the very least a partial refund for when a customer is forced to switch to a different vehicle (a very large truck that was frightening to drive) due to an employee's error. It also would have been nice if there wasn't a 30 minute waiting period when calling U-haul to fix this problem on our own. Lastly, the entire online process of checking the vehicle in and out was horrendous. Extremely complicated, site crashes every few seconds, forces you to upload photos and then crashes when you try, won't let you move on without the photos that it won't let you take, etc.Meredith W.

As far as I could tell, this location only had one cargo van stationed there, and the vehicle was neither clean nor in particularly good conditionâ€”the 'oil change required' light was on the whole time and the switchblade key was loose and felt like it was going to fall apart any moment. But the main trouble was with after-hours return, which involved driving through and leaving the van in a dark, sketchy alley, and then fumbling around with the buggy Uhaul website, which kept getting hung up, while trying to process the van return. I finally just dropped the key in the drop box and left because I didn't feel safe being there in the alley on my own, and got penalized with a $20 'after hours convenience fee' the next morning. After-hour returns used to be SO easy. This was definitely not, and I won't be using Uhaul again for this reason.Jason M.

I didn't like the fact when I got there I needed help in registering and when I called the key wasn't there on neither of the 3 key boxes. Customer service called someone and someone came to the front office after 25 mts waiting. Our pickup time for our truck rental was delayed twice with no warning or explanation. We ended up not being able to pick up our truck until 3 hours after our reserved time. Despite asking for 24/7 mobile check in, I was not able to check in until the location office opened. At least the staff person at Honored Storage was very kind and helpful! When getting in contact with UHaul customer service via online chat, they offered no solutions or discounts for the inconvenience. I called the local rental management office, but couldn't get ahold of anyone after being on hold for half an hour. This was a very poor UHaul experience.Emily G.

This new U-Haul system where you have to pickup the truck through the app instead of an in-person pickup is extremely awful. I chose in-person pickup and they automatically placed me to do the pickup through the app. Plus, I had to drive to the original location where I picked it up, instead of givong me the option of chosing somewhere closer. The drop-off process was completely terrible. The app kept denying my drop-off and I had to go through the process like three times. At the end I had to call an agent so that they could do it from their end. Quite honestly, this is the last time I'm renting with U-Haul.Anthony Z.

The uhaul website is very buggy. Had lots of trouble at checkin and checkout. Didn't work in safari. Used chrome. At checkout, it wouldn't let me take or upload an image of the dashboard, so I couldn't complete the return. No chat on that page, no phone number or help option. The alley was blocked by a car and no employee or sign was present to discourage people from parking in the alley. I was forced to reverse out of the alley onto a busy street, which was unsafe. I was also late to my appointment as a result. I ordered a utility dolly, which was not in the cargo van I rented. I received an email that said, "If you have any questions or concerns about your moving experience or the attached receipt, please contact us at 26289_GM@uhaul.com." But when I sent an email to this address I received an error message saying that my email was undeliverable because the recipient address was "unknown" and "rejected." I did not know that I would have to upload photos of my driver's license and passport prior to obtaining the key to the cargo van rental. I would like the option of uploading these photos in advance, instead of when I am at the location ready to pick up the van. There was some garbage in my van rental. I followed all the instructions on my iPhone in my attempt to return the vehicle, but I kept receiving error messages. The receipt that I received via email said that I returned the vehicle this afternoon rather than last night.Aaron B.

All my stored items were completely covered in dust and dirt, apparently due to some repair work that was done. I was never given a warning before the work was started so that I could either protect my stored items or move them out. Instructions for dropoff were unclear on the app. It said that I would get a $20 processing fee if I didnt sign the truck back in on the app, but then when I tried to use the app it didn't work. Therefore tried to call the help line, and after 23 minutes of being on hold, gave up. UHaul's mobile app is not up to par. Customers are encouraged to use the mobile app to check in. However, the Uhaul app would not accept my log information, and further, failed to send me a security code to update my password. We were then forced to manually check-in at the location -- this presented a problem because the person manning the location needed to visit other stores and was not available when we needed to manually check out later that day. Uhual should really focus on updating their software.ELENA G.
There was no option to activate my pickup when I arrived. I was slightly late, but I had reserved the van for 12 hours and didn't expect that to be an issue (things come up during moves). I called customer service for help, waited 20+ minutes and was transferred, and then the RUDEST customer service agent I have ever dealt with told me that the problem was because I was early and my reservation started at 10. When I corrected her that it started at 8 she told me she wasn't done speaking, then launched into her scripted instructions speaking to me in a scolding tone, and then said â€œhave a good dayâ€ while I was like â€œwait I have a question?!?â€ and although she heard me she purposefully hung up on me. I still have no idea why my online pickup option was not activated upon arrival (I was logged in, activated location services, followed all instructions, etc). The website was having issues. I couldn't log in to extend the reservation and had to call, almost a 30 min wait. The site recognized my device (my name was on the screen) wouldn't accept my password and wouldn't send a reset code to my phone or email. The door was jammed and wouldn't open so I couldn't get the couch into the van. Before I came back, I filled up the tank completely with 5+ gallons of gas even though I only went 7 miles total â€” but they said it was full when I got it (not true, it was 7/8 full when I got in.
