My last time ever using Uhaul. My truck that was reserved, was not even available. There was no one working at the pickup location and it took about an hour to resolve the issue, which was to issue me a 20' truck to move a couch. Unacceptable and mind blowing frustrating experience. The absolute worst. Please note, this was the SECOND time the exact same thing happened to me when renting and picking up at this location. Never again.

GIANMARCO LThe store manager advocated to allow me to rent - for which I am grateful. By shear accident, the man I hired to help me move was somehow linked to someone who owed U-Haul. Then I was linked to him. Anyhow - it was annoying and she solved the problem - something that happens rarely these days. The truck handled really well. It was a smooth ride in a comfortable vehicle!!

NICHOLAS CEverything went very smoothly. It was fairly easy to return the vehicle after hours, although it was a bit difficult trying to read the directions posted on the door in the dark. It would be good to have a light overhead. Also, I had wanted to purchase a mattress cover and used the Uhaul app to do so. Hudson (my local store) did not appear on the list of locations selling the cover, so we had to go to the Schenectady store to get it. When I picked up the vehicle, I was surprised to see that the Hudson store had a wealth of packing supplies, including a slightly different mattress cover. It would have been helpful to know that my local store carried supplies, if possible.
ELIZABETH KEverything was great. It took a little while longer to get going because the mirrors on the truck require an allen wrench to adjust. That is dumb!
BARBARA Avehicle had check engine light and low tire pressure. the office location was never open during hours posted and there was no chance at all to talk to them. I was overcharged for the rental
Amir HI booked a Friday 3pm reservation. Unfortunately I was running very late due to an extended work meeting and not able to arrive until 3:45. I thought this would be ok since their published hours are 9a-4p. However when I arrived, the place was closed so I had to reschedule to pick up on Saturday at 10a. It was might fault that I was late and not able to give the place a heads up, but if you’re going to publish that you’re open until 4, then stay open until 4.
MEGAN MI was supposed to return the trailer by 12/25/2024. I called the drop off location on 12/24/2024 to discuss dropping the trailer off on 12/24 because I was going to need help with returning it and unhitching it from my car. I called numerous times, and no one answered. I left a voicemail, and no one called me back. I was unable to return the trailer on time because no one was available at the return location, and no one ever called me back. I had to find someone else to help me which ended up making me return the trailer a day late. I am very upset that I was charged for an extra day due to the lack of people available at the return location and would like to get a refund for that day.
BRIANA AThe person who helped me with the pickup was extremely professional and helpful. She even took care to brush off the snow from the truck before I got in. The storefront was clean and well organized. I was thoroughly impressed.

Blake AThere was some miscommunication. I thought the agent said bring tank back between 1/4 and 3/8’s. I brought it back at 1/4. I was charged $20 for fuel I didn’t think I needed. The agent did NOT mention the fuel charge when she came back into office after checking in truck after the rental. The rating would have been top shelf if not for this

EDWIN MFire the person on 40 Green St Hudson NY she harassed me after leaving her number on the front door before closing at 4 , and she failed to make my reservation after 4 attempts on a phone call , she kept telling me my card was declined but the second I contacted customer service it worked first try . She continued to text me throughout the day harassing me .
Jordan BMistell was very helpful. Due to a problem with my destination she extended my rental on a day rate and allowed me local travel on a promissory note I can settle next month. My strongest thanks and recommendation.

WAYLON GI went to pick up my van - when I got to the Uhaul location the Uhaul app said there was no vehicle assigned to my reservation. I then spent the next hour and a half on the phone with various agents who transferred me from one to the next giving me conflicting information. One agent told me the vehicle I needed was only available for in-town transportation and cancelled my reservation on my behalf. Another told me that I did have a reservation but they weren’t able to find the lockbox code and had me try three different lock boxes before finding the right one. No one knew if the moving blankets I ordered were inside the van or not. I ended up being two hours late to my appointment because of this ordeal. I would like a discount from Uhaul for the inconvenience.

FERNNDO CApp check in was ridiculous. Having to verify me as a person when I've rented before is ridiculous. All of that should have been done beforehand- which it previously was. We were in a sketchy dark lot for a 1/2 hour trying to check in. Needless to say, I just accepted the stupid pictures that i could barely see on the app, and there wasn't enough light to take my own since the truck was all the way in the back. We weren't even on the pavement to try to open the back of the truck. We did ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE to the truck, but the owner called the day after return and lied. She supposedly sent it to "regional" to investigate. NO ONE ever contacted me!!! I was just charged an extra $150 for damages we didn't do. I'm sure the damage was done by someone who couldn't pay, so she just waited for someone like me who had-luckily-- paid for the extra insurance. There was NO FOLLOW UP and she never sent the before pictures- which you can't see after you go through the check in. NEVER RENT FROM THIS LOCATION!

VINCENT MYes. I did not see any personal as I dropped off via my app when the office was closed, although it was 3:30 in the afternoon. The only issue I would say is I got the truck with 1/4 full gas tank and left it with 5/8 full , I should have received a credit. Just sayin'.
Natasha SThe U-Haul app does not work well. I wasn't able to get my rental when scheduled despite multiple attempts with U-Haul's support team via the phone and chat. When I was finally able to start my rental the next day, there were a number of suprises--for instance needing to provide a phone number for someone to verify my rental--that slowed things down even further. And, after the agent who changed my reservation to start the following day made a chance, I was double charged. This has been by far the worst rental experience and customer service experience I've ever had. I will NEVER use U-Haul again, will leave public reviews on Google and any other public sites I can find, and will let all my friends and family know what a terribly run company U-Haul is.

Was not offered insurance , when I questioned amount she said “you didn’t say you didn’t want insurance” I then stated you didnt ask me if I wanted insurance. I requested motorcycle trailer when I got their she had the step up trailer and when I asked for a chok she said look at one with a chok and take that one, I returned to office and said there are none with chok and she said chok are Unicorn almost absolute . finally after she re rung me up she took off insurance and asked if I wanted 2 day rental I said no 1 day…. I was charged 2 day. Currently waiting for field manager per 1800 clerk I spoke with to close out contract to 1 day as I returned 7 pm ish and she said it was b4 8:30 . Ughhh too much

ROBY II’ve used this location several times now. Terrible service every time. The location isn’t open when they say they will be. No one calls back when you leave messages. And the last time I dropped off a trailer, they said it was two days late. I had to send pictures to prove I’d dropped it off on time before they finally believed me.

mark wThere was a simple communication issue about my rental - I was never told there would be consequences (another day's full charge) if I was "late" returning the vehicle, yet the owner/manage at this site basically called me a liar and refused to make any accommodation. I was charged an additional day plus insurance. I have never been treated that way in a place of business in my life. To have someone insist that they told you something to your face that they never said is quite an experience. And no effort was made to do anything to help me, the customer. They stood behind some line about "corporate" controls everything. I was warned about this location by another local business person but gave it a shot anyway - much to my regret. I will never go back and have told several people already to take their business elsewhere.

Travis GI had tried to book and pick up at Bob's in Craryville. That should be closed..OTOH, there was a convenient drop off spot in Cumberland on N Mechanic that did not turn up on UHAUL's list of possibilities. It was perfect. But Hudson''s office could not find it.

Especially since they were closed on June 1st at 1:30pm. The truck was there early, either refund me or I will have my credit card company reach out.

jeffery pTwice this spring we've gotten a truck for just a few hours and returned it mid-afternoon to find the place closed. The online check in process is neither simple nor convenient. And don't just drop the keys in the box, you've got to go through the instructions on your phone.
