My only complaint is regarding the fuel program (which has now been thoroughly explained to me). I rented the vehicle and the paper work said 1/2 tank, when actually it was a line below 1/2 full. I brought it back very close to that line below 1/2, but got docked for a gas shortage... but was later reimbursed by the regional manager. I think there needs to be a better system here. I rent a lot of vehicles and have NEVER had an issue with the fuel tank. Again, I've had this all explained to me, but I still don't understand why you guys can't request the vehicles to come in with a full tank, and if it doesn't I know you'll charge a lot to repay that gas, which in turn your people could take it to the BP right across the street and fill it back up to FULL! It makes it so much easier. Enterprise uses the same system as you do, and I try not to rent from them for this reason... it's a pain arguing about gas. It's so much easier to just fill the tank! I know this sounds petty, but like I said, I rent a lot and I've seen this to be the case... just speaking from a veteran car renter position.Edward S.

Pickup staff were very nice and facility was very good. Regarding the truck, they did not have the correct size I wanted, the tire sensor light was on the entire time, the truck was very noisy and drove quite bad.WILLIAM H.

Cathy McNally was very helpful and friendly and on point. If there's any room for improvement it's with the UHAUL APP and cleaning it up a little and making it a little simpler and faster for extra small move jobs. Otherwise I'd recommend and use this location/business again. Very, very satisfied for a first time user! ThanksPeter T.

The horn didn't work and the person at the counter was rude and seemed confused and untrained. We rented the truck for two days and said it needed to be returned the next day.James N.
The van I originally rented from Gills wasn't available, and the rep at that location suggested we try the one two blocks away because they'd have the van. We went there and they didn't have one either. Both locations only had one truck on site, and luckily I was able to get one. The system sent me a text saying I'd be getting a call but I missed the call (was busy moving in with my movers) and no voicemail or text or email was received to tell me my van wasn't available, so if you miss the call you have no clue what happened until you go to pick it up and find out last minute. I wish I could call her out by name but the girl working the weekend I rented my trailer was amazing. She was so helpful. Helped me change my rental and everything when the forecast turned to rain. She never seemed annoyed with my questions and changes. She was so friendly and helpful. My brother even went to pick up the trailer and said how helpful and friendly she was. I did not appreciate having to drive 40 minutes to pick up this trailer, especially as the U-haul store was 2 miles from my current address, which had 4 at the time. It's inconvenient and quite frankly, unacceptable, to have someone who reserved a trailer weeks before have to drive so far for something that is so close.LISA P.

It is EXTREMELY frustrating have to run around to different facilities to pick up the equipment you rented AND to find out the equipment you wanted is not at the preferred location and having to drive further to get and have those miles used against you. It has happened EVERY time I rent. The difference in rates based on pick up state too is awful!!!TIFFANY M.

The representative that assisted us was very rude. Thankfully there was a U-Haul Rep on the phone who spoke up for us when she tried to double charge us because that's the way she â€œruns her businessâ€ and didn't want to honor the $19.95 base rate. She shamed us for not purchasing the insurance and kept saying that if anything happened after hours, it was our responsibility even if it was on her property. That make me very uncomfortable. Very thankful for the gentleman on the phone named Brandon. Never going to this location again, and going to tell others not to as well.TUSHAR B.

My experience with this location was quite good. Kudos to Cathy. My overall UHaul experience was poor. It turns out that renting one way is essentially on a best efforts basis. I rented a 20' truck and was told at 3 pm the day before my 9 am reservation time that the pick-up location for the truck would be 60 miles away. When I called the Mendota, IL location to confirm the truck's availability as is required, I was told that she could not confirm because the truck was not there and the current user had until 3 pm (6 hours after my scheduled pick-up) to return it. To ensure certainty, I switched to an in town rental. A 20' truck was not available. The 15' that I got did not accommodate all of our stuff. Plus it required that we make a trip to return the truck that we had not expected to make. This is an unacceptable way to run a company. I would like to know how UHaul plans to make sure my experience does not happen to someone else. My number is 3127201631.Gerard S.
