I had a last minute change (initiated by UHaul) to pick up the truck at this location. When I arrived it looked closed and the most visible number is out of service. When I got the truck there was no equipment ready ( as per the reservation) and I asked the guy to remove it from the rental (he did not). The truck was dirty and the gas tank was on E -- like real E 7 miles or something to empty. So I drove to the Ogontz location (my preferred location) and spoke with Melvin who listened to my concerns, left some very helpful notes on the reservation (which he then couldn't change because of the transfer of the pick up to this other site). I would not recommend this location. Maybe for local moves, but not Out of Town/One-ways. I was informed when I returned my truck that I had to eat any fuel take overages (i.e. I couldn't get credit for returning it at a higher fuel amount than it was when I had take it). I understand why you have this policy, but renting a truck that presents on empty should be the exception.
Edith PThis was not the location I made the reservation for. I made the reservation for pickup at the 2500 block of Broad Street which then got switched to Allegheny Ave then over to this location. This location was farther away from our moving location, a longer drive, and more of a hassle to get to.
JUANITA Jmy experience was very unsatisfactory, the original reservation I had had to be cancelled and switched to a different location since the keys were nowhere to be found in either lockbox. I then had to pay for ANOTHER reservation due to Uhaul's negligence and instead of getting a $50 discount like I was told I would be getting I was charged $73 instead of the $50 I was charged for my initial reservation.
Savon RI made my reservation for a truck on June 18th for a July 1st move. When I arrived at mings, the pickup location, they told me they never got the reservation and I'd have to call around to find a 15 foot truck. When we found a different location with a truck, it had a cracked windshield and 27 miles worth of gas in the tank. Consistency with reservation would have made things way less stressful on moving day.
Oscar MThe truck I rented should be taken out of service and looked at carefully. It was slow sluggish and struggled on the hills. It would rev up and be really loud going downhill. Did not feel confortable driving it through the hilly road of Macungie, PA. I was praying that it doesn't break down on the road on me. Did not have any of the equipment ordered. No waiting area. Staff at pick up location was friendly but did not perform a pre ride inspection. Luckily I took picture of starting mileage and fuel as it did not match what was on the contract when I dropped off the truck.
