I ended up being charged for a cleaning fee when this was never disclosed that it could be a fee or discuss it with me, I cleaned the unit and swept it out so the fee shouldn't have been charged.

Portola Uhaul was great to work with, they really helped me out. Yuba City U-haul I have nothing good to say about them. I will never deal with them again.

We were unhappy that we had to drive all the way from South Lake Tahoe to Portola to get the truck we reserved 3 weeks ago to pick up in Tahoe. We were told for the inconvenience we would get 300 free miles and an extra day, but all we got was an extra day and no charge for driving 4 hours round trip to portola.

The truck that I reserved wasn't available for pickup, despite an email confirmation and a phone call made on my end to ensure everything was locked on prior to arrival. I waited an hour for the change to be made. These folks at this location are lost, and have no clue how to properly run a business. Additionally, I was charged $14.00 for fuel the following morning, after return. I put fuel and took pictures, and should not have been charged. I was told “Corporate took the charges”. I called the Corporate office number and they demoted such a statement. How do I rectify this situation? This is not the way to do business, and I expect much more from UHaul.

I was called the day prior to pick up and was told I needed to go to a different location in NW Reno (about 20 miles from my original) When I got there they did not have my trailer either. I was told I had to drive an additional 100 miles RT to pick up the trailer. You don't give people any options when they leave the next day. I was only offered a $50 discount. I think I will look to another truck rental company the next time. $50 for 120 miles and 4 hours of my time is not a fair trade off.

My only criticism, and it's minor, is that the excellent folks at the Portola pickup could have let me know I needed a 2” ball and blade adapter for hook-up. It all worked out, however.

The truck was clean, but the rear left tire was under pressured. A warning light came up in the middle of the trip, I was trying to add air at a gas station, but was unable to. It was very stressful to drive loaded truck with a warning light on complaining about an under inflated tire.

I booked a 15 ft truck to pick up in Quincy. The staff told me they had 4 15 footers and there would be no problem . I called 2 days ahead and they said there were no trucks, they lied and said my truck was scheduled for the week before (it wasn't), and I could drive all the way to Portola from Taylorsville for a 20 ft truck or Quincy for a 10 ft truck. I was driving all the way from the Bay Area to vacate my dead uncle's house, which is why I booked the truck 2 weeks in advance. The treatment by U-Haul was reprehensible

As stated on my receipt I drove 5 miles with truck and was charged for 3 gallons of gas. What a joke! The lady at this location is so slow. She does not understand when people have a sense of urgency.

When I picked up the trailer and hooked it up they found out the lights did not work. They did a great job of fixing the lights. But after having to drive an extra 2 hours to get trailer and then wait another hour for them to fix lights.it was rather frustrating. I was supposed to pick up trailer in Reno but then had to drive to Portola to get trailer. I was stuck and needed a trailer. So I drove an extra hour to get round trip that's two. Should have been more than a 40 percent discount.
