The equipment reserves ahead of time should actually be available at time of pick-up. We reserved a furniture dolly and there wasn't one available for us. The check-in process should not take 30 min (this time should be added to the rental period or customers should be notified the process take this long and encouraged to come in early.Dakota B.

My reservation was extended just in case the drop off was late (to protect me from paying double). I still dropped it off before the original reservation time, but since the reservation was extended, I was charged for the extra time. I wish there was an option to get some money off for early drop off! Besides this, everything was great. Clean truck. Full tank of gas. Dollie rental was great. The woman in the office was also very helpful.Theresa G.
It would be nice to receive a confirmation when the truck is returned. We dropped the keys off like the attendant asked us to but didn't receive a text or email confirming their receipt. That would be very helpful in the futureThomas C.

The Uhaul reservation system allows people to get double booked for a truck. I ended up getting a call 2 days after getting my "confirmation" email; telling me that I actually didn't have a truck. Need to fix this, otherwise what's the point of reserving a truck?Luke W.
From start to finish my rental was screwed up. I booked over a week in advance and got a confirmation of my truck and time/location. The night before my rental at 8:45pm I received a text message that my pick up location had completely changed from one city to another, not close to each other and at a completely different time that was was booked. it went from 8am-12pm period to a pick up time of 2pm that day which did not work for my schedule. I had to scramble and rebook a truck at a location in Seattle instead, which was the only available option at that time of night. Calling the customer service number was a complete waste of time. I was on hold for over 30 minutes before I hung up because no one answered the phone. I had to spend extra time outside of my window for the move, which impacted the people who were helping me, cost me more money in mileage fees because I had to drive 20 minutes out of my way to get the truck, etc. I will seriously reconsider using Uhaul in the future and I think I should get my money refunded for all the inconveniences.Jennifer L.

The customer service at this location was atrocious. The young woman who was working the location both at pick up and drop off was the poorest example of someone providing customer service that I have experienced. She was not only untruthful but created the undue delay in our pick up (over 45 minutes) because she was only willing to assist after multiple requests (flat out refusing service initially) then once she did was obstructionist and inaccurate. She said she was not allowed to do an in person check in and only after we waited 30 minutes with no luck did she tell us she could (stating â€œI told you before that I couldâ€ - which was a complete untruth. This resulted in much frustration, delay and ultimately added expense. On multiple occasions said she didn't know or couldn't help because she didn't work for UHaul and this wasn't a UHaul agency and that you needed to call UHaul. She refused to allow us to use the phone number and email address made on the initial reservation (for reasons that made no logical sense), she could not see our online check in even though I had received a confirmation and showed her, she said she could not delete a charge for moving blankets in the reservation that their center did not have, and most appalling was that after us refusing UHaul insurance on multiple occasions, our bill arrived today and we were charged for it. Finally up son returning of the truck she was not able to process our return because it was â€œafter hoursâ€ yet the sign on the door (and the lighted open sign) indicated otherwise. The egregious actions of this young woman has made it clear that I will never, ever recommend or use Lake City Mini storage again She could not have represented your business and also U-Haul more poorly.Klane W.

Online check in process took 40 minutes. Ended up only being able to use rental for an hour and had to return after a single trip to new place. Online check in got denied and I had to start all over because I put my dad (who has the same name) as a contact for verification. I even noted in the chat that my dad has the same name and the check in person said I couldn't use myself for verification - followed by a try again message (and started all over from the beginning, taking pictures of my license etc etc.)Rene Scott C.
The online check in experience was a nightmare. I scanned my DL; uploaded a selfie; but still needed to provide multiple contact numbers. Not horrible except I had to do it while standing in the lot trying to get my truck as the clock ticked. This could have been done beforehand but that was not explained. They had to call and verify my contacts? While I waited in the lot? Again, that would have been good to know before! My daughter was in the shower so we all had to wait for her to answer?? Are you kidding me? And the lady at the location was no help at all. All she did was tell me how I must be doing something wrong and how stupid I must be. Also, advertising $19.99/day is a joke! False advertising....$78 more like it. I should have used Home Depot! I will never use U-Haul again and will absolutely share with everyone I know - including social media - the experience I had.Stephen O.

Do not go here unless you're very desperate for a rental and if you do rent make sure you check all the documents afterwards and your bank statement. I just rented a truck here a couple days ago and I drove 26 miles and they told me that I did not refill the gas which I know I did because I kept the receipt and I took pictures of the gas gauge. honestly they charge me $60 To refill the gas that I have already filled. If you do the math it does not add up 26 miles and you needed to refill it up 6 gallons??? any person in their right mind would see that and be like WTF! I had to call customer support which they refunded me that money because they called the Location and they said oops sorry we messed up. But keep in mind they didn't refund me the rental tax that still stay the same even though they refunded me. what about the people that don't keep such a good track of their records? it makes me wonder how many people they have really screwed over. U-Haul is a great company I have used it several times it's a shame that they're giving it such a bad name and representing it so poorlyUliya S.

I got a smaller size than what I reserved online. When I arrived, I said, well, will this fit a Queen Bed. Heather, at the desk, said yes. BUT, it was extremely difficult to fit in and remove. And, the mattress and box spring was damaged because of it. I was very disappointed. When I asked after returning the truck, why I did not get what I asked for, she simply said that someone else reserved what she had. I had reserved online several weeks before the move as well. Not happy. The location did not have sufficient availability of trucks either. There were just the two, the smaller I used and the size I expected that went to someone else.Theresa W.

Fast and good customer service. Convenient location. We did have to drive back after dropping off the vehicle because when we got home we received an auto text from Uhaul that said we had to be at the drop-off location to check in the vehicle with our phone. However when we arrived at the parking lot, we couldn't check in the vehicle because we had already returned the key to the drop box and we couldn't read the odometer. Turned out we didn't need to check in the vehicle with our phone afterall. It would babe been nice to know that before driving back.Nathaniel B.
It took over 20 minutes to check in because the Uhaul system was malfunctioning and the furniture pads I had ordered weren't carried at that location, which no one told me until I was standing at the counter, leaving me scrambling to find an alternative at the last minute. The truck was fine, but the back had clearly not been swept by either the last customer or the staff. I would like to stress that none of this was the fault of the employee at the counter, it seemed to be a problem with the site itself. I've used Uhaul to move many times and have not had these problems before. Overall I was unimpressed.Mariel B.

The owner requires users to reserve trucks and equipment through the U-Haul website, which promises fully-automated checkout via the app... that this site does not support. If you request (and expect) app-based access to the truck, you will be disappointed by the additional 30 minutes of paperwork and signing that you will have to slog through anyhow. Please hide the app-only option when the user selects this sort of affiliate site.Martin M.

The truck had a warning light saying the right rear tire was low and needed air. We put air in it but the light didn't go out. I don't feel the truck cab or storage area had been cleaned since the last person had used it. There was stuff on the seats and the floor. Plus it stunk like cigarettes.Marianne H.

I think u-haul should adopt the usual car-rental gas policy -- when we rent the gas tank should be full and when returning it should be full. Those fuel meters are never exact and those 3/4th tank etc. are just scam. I could bet the meter was higher when I returned, but the lady at the counter disagreed and charged me for extra 1.5 gallons. Also, the check-in lady at the counter was less than welcoming / personable. From the beginning, conversation with her felt like a tense conversation with a cop.Srijan C.

We rented a van and found out that the fuel line was cut. When we went to fill up the tank after our move, gasoline leaked everywhere. The desk employee told us they knew someone siphoned the gas from their vehicles the night before, but they weren't checked prior to renting this vehicle out to us. Thankfully we didn't have to drive too far. Otherwise, the employees there were friendly and very helpful.IRFAN S.

I was very mad at the extra-fee for the fuel. There was less a half tank fuel when we got on that U-haul and we took a photo as a proof. When I return that U-haul, I'm sure that I added more fuel than we actually used because the needle was pointing to more than a half obviously. But that women just don't believe us and let us pay another several dollars for fuel.Wenyuan L.

Service was good and the truck functioned very well except for the lights switch module falling through the dash. My husband made a quick repair and we carried on. We were advised it would be replaced. Truck box was nice and clean, didn't look like the last renter had cleaned the cab--unusual in my experience with UHAUL. Overall we got the job done satisfactorily and the truck drove nicely. Again, service at the site was excellent.Carol P.
Honestly that's a tough question to answer. Ms. Ferris was wonderful, gracious, courteous and made the experience a real pleasure. Don't let her go! I hadn't rented a Uhaul van in a long time and I was thoroughly impressed with how well they handled, how easy it was to drive, how lovely sitting high up felt and the big windshield and excellent wipers. I waited 45 minutes at this location in order to get my van. The system was down and I wasted not just 5-10 min but almost an hour waiting for the system to be back up and running. When I got my receipt I was also charged more when I booked the cargo van at .99/mile not 1.09/mile. The individual who helped was nice but the experience was not great.Kyo K.

First, when I arrived I was asked for the name and phone number in of some one who knows me as an extra contact. Since I was picking up the truck during rush hour I wasn't able to reach anyone. I have no idea why this is necessary or why I wasn't told beforehand. I felt embarrassed and stressed when I couldn't reach anyone. Additionally, I was told by one manager that I could keep the truck an extra day and then was called by another employee and told I had to bring the truck back that moment. I won't rent from that location again and am upset with U-hauls policy of randomly calling someone as an extra contact!!! Very unhelpful stressful experience!!!Kim Alexandra S.

A big thank you to Sean Melo, our Lake City Storage representative who helped us out that morning. I was running a little late for my pick-up and Sean called me to check in and kindly adjusted our reservation so we wouldn't lose the van. Upon arriving to pick up the keys, Sean was friendly and provided all the info we needed to know for a smooth pick-up and drop-off. We were even cracking jokes throughout the process! When we tried to reserve the van online, this location wasn't shown in the extended vehicle list, even though we had reserved a van to use on a date earlier in the week from this location. The customer service rep at the location said the van was available on our selected date and time and we reserved it through him. Seems like a disservice to customers to not show online all locations close to them. In the future, if I need to reserve a U-Haul, I will confirm with the location I want to rent from that a vehicle is really not available, rather than rely on what's shown online.Yemane F.
