The rental was initially booked at the Eastgate Truck Rentals SE 37th St location, but when we went to collect the van we were told that it wasn't available. This was very frustrating, and the franchise owner seemed to not care, and also to not be willing to try and solve the problem. In the end we called UHaul who were able to find the van we wanted at a nearby location (the Lake Hills Chevron) and also agreed to the $50 credit that is advertised on the internet for if your reserved item is not available. The Lake Hills Chevron location was fine. The van was actually there, and the franchise owner helped us get out the door in a reasonably timely manner. So we lost half an hour of our Saturday due to the initial rental not being fulfilled, but the end result was satisfactory. The van itself was perfect for what we needed (moving a sofa).

You can make sure the battery in the U-Haul truck is a newer battery since I had to jump start the battery twice with jumper cables, even though no lights were left on in the truck. Also, the steering was very loose. I had to lay both of my arms over the steering wheel and grip the sterring wheel tightly with both hands in order to control the steering of the U-Haul truck..

I was 'required' to return the trailer to this location even though there is an actual U-Haul about a mile from me. This location is a Chevron station. The U-Haul 'portion' of it closes at 5:30 pm. I was not informed about its hours. I called national customer service & was told I had to bring it there as there was a customer waiting for it. I said I would bring it there later this afternoon noting it was a ways from me. Traffic was bad & it took me well over an hour to drive there & it was closed. I am physically limited & needed assistance with unhooking & parking the trailer. I called customer service & eventually was sent to emergency roadside assistance & was told they would be billing me for sending assistance. I said I had taken out the roadside assistance insurance. Was told this type of roadside assistance isn't included. I spoke with a manager & was told they couldn't wave that fee but I can dispute the charges when I get a bill. I did get roadside assistance after the company contacted me to verify my local location. I know I repeated the address on the call at least 3 times as they kept saying 100th Ave NE & it was 148th Ave NE in reality. The male tow truck operator who did arrive about half an hour later had a lot of difficulty getting the trailer unattached from the hitch. I know I wasn't capable of that kind of strength.

Make it more clear that the item reserved months in advance might not be available at your chosen location. I was disappointed that U-Haul made me go to a different location through bad traffic and up and down hills to pick up the trailer rather than making sure it was available at my chosen location that I reserved months in advance. I also added a 10 mover and was glad to pick it up at the chosen locations but I did have to go to two locations to get what I needed. The guy that checked the trailer inspection was very knowledgeable so perhaps that’s why I got transferred. The guy that checked me out only provided me 10 of the 12 blankets I requested.

The U-Haul they gave me was filthy. There was dog hair all over the front and the cab area. There was brown splatters all over the seat and in the back of the trailer I had to take and clean it out and sweep it because it was covered in dirt. The U-Haul made all kinds of noise ran rough and just wasn't at a proper standard functioning vehicle. The person that checked me in was rude. I would not recommend this location because they do not clean the vehicles or make sure that they're clean nor do they insure that the vehicles maintained or functioning to drive. They also have a very poor customer service not polite at all. And the dolly they gave me was useless it was not that great as well as I could not use it because of how poor it was.

I dropped off after hours. It would have been great for the staff- or U-Haul at all- to contact me and let me know the trailer was checked in and all was complete. I still don’t know and guess I need to call and follow up. I parked it where the directions said to so it should be fine.

System was down when I pickup, I have to wait 1 hour just to rent. The fuel policy is totally scam, I come with not full and I refill the tank to the same level still charge me for extra 2 gallons.

Biggest disappointment was setting up trailer rental for $89.70 for a one way. Only find out when I went to pick it up the rate jumped to $133.50. 50% spike cost. Not good. The district manager said unless i could come up with paperwork showing the rate, it was just a quote. The truck i rented 2 weeks earlier was not this way. Very disappointed since I can still go in on the app and book the trailer for the $89.70. I must be missing something. Learned my lesson.

They may not have all the equipment you reserved on line. When I reserved online I also reserved a hand truck with a strap to move appliances. When I got there they said they didn’t have that and they never do. They made no effort to check other locations to see who had one, they just told me where I might try. I called another location and got to your central number and that person was helpful in looking where I could get a hand truck. I had to make an additional stop at a U-Haul dealer to get a hand truck. U-Haul should not allow equipment to be reserved that isn’t available. This was very frustrating and cost me extra time, and milage to detour for this equipment.

Lets start with no ability to leave my vehicle while I pick up a truck to move with. If onsite parking is not available this is something that would be helpful to know in advance. I have rented from U-Haul several times in the past and have always been able to leave my vehicle onsite, this time I had to drive back home and then find a way back to pick up my rental. Vehicle wise it was clean. The vents were broken and to have the fan on anything besides lowest setting there was a high pitch whistle noise coming from the blower/vents. I also reserved moving blankets, nope, get told at time of vehicle pickup they don't have any, what's the point of reserving something if it really isn't offered. Overall the vehicle did what I wanted, I was able to move my personal stuff. While these things may seem small they impacted my overall experience, in the future if I need to rent a vehicle this will give me reason to look at other options beside U-Haul.

The process was super fast and easy. The guy working there was a little grumpy/short with me, but I am that way too so I get it. :) I would use them again, but if someone is sensitive or wants to ask a lot of questions, I might recommend they go elsewhere.

The attendant was extremely rude, did not listen to what I said, and the vehicle was not 7/8 full when I got it. It also had trash in it. When I returned the vehicle, the same attendant berated me for leaving my car there, despite me telling him I would be. He also told me that I didn’t return the vehicle full enough. I went to two different gas stations to attempt to fill up the vehicle, but it only took a gallon at each. When I went to the chevron to drop it off, the tank was 3/4 full, which was where it was when I picked it up. The attendant made me fill it up to 100% full. I will never return to this location for gas, car services, or U-Haul.

Our requested pick up location was changed to this location. When we picked up the truck, the employee was not helpful. The truck we were given had 1/8 of a tank of gas in it. This has never happened to us before and we were not happy!!! This meant that we had no choice but to put gas in it at that Chevron location and it was a VERY expensive $140 fill up charge! Hard to correctly approximate the amount of fuel we would need for our 95 mile trip so we put in considerably more fuel than we needed. We left the truck with over 5/8 of a tank. In addition, we would have not felt good to leave the truck with 1/8 of a tank as it was for us!!! Absolutely terrible!!!

I was rented a van with an open container of alcohol left in the passenger door unbeknownst to me.. it’s very disappointing because I as the drive would’ve been responsible if stopped for any reason.

The front desk reception man was extremely rude, didn’t want to explain the process and then gave me a dirty truck. I went back in and mentioned it and he said they’ll clean it after I bring it back. The steering wheel was sticky, the cab was dirty and muddy. The rear compartment had shards of glass which made me cut myself. Had to take it to brown bear to get rid of the glass before loading in my boxes. Will never recommend this location

I appreciate the very short survey, but it was way TOO short. It's obvious you don't really want to know your customers' opinions. I would like to see at least a dozen questions and much more options than YES or NO. The individual behind the counter needs a personality transplant. I've seen cadavers with more warmth and concern than he had. I think I have some clue as to the difficulty U-Haul has in finding good employees when so many people are not interested in working, but this fellow was dead from the neck up. Can't you do any better? He made the experience (and desire to return EVER) feel like a walk to the gallows.

The employee hated his job. Traveled 60 miles was charged for 100. I would never recommend this even if it's a last resort, jus carry your things it's cheaper. Had a reservation paid for it at $50 but then charged for $230. Absolutely terrible.

The van was not clean. It was mud on the floor and leaves in the door compartment. When I was checking out, there was an option to mark if not clean but I would have to pay 25$… It was not me who soiled the van. But I like this location and will use it again if needed.

When I checked in my U Haul I was greeted by an angry employee. He accused me of damaging the windshield when the vehicle was delivered to me in this sub par condition. I also throughly vacuumed and mopped the entire vehicle bed before return. I was also informed of a “$20” cleaning fee…. I’m hesitant to keep doing business with you if this is the customer service I’m going to continue to experience.

The rep was busy but efficient and courteous. I asked for the cleanest newest truck, I think I got the oldest dirtiest. This truck was worn out. Pulled hard right on the freeway. Steering wheel was greasy and falling apart. Dirty inside and smelled terrible.
