You got to have the units like the trailer in a working order. The tail lights were out they didn’t work. The flashers were working but not the tail lights. I couldn’t drive the trailer at night because it was with out tail lights.
JORGE LIt was an awful experience. The owner/employee who checked out the truck was horrible. He was worried about his “customers” that were buying items or paying for gas. U-Haul customers were repeatedly told to step to the side. It was absolutely horrible customer service. This owner of the Chevron should not be working with U-Haul if he doesn’t consider those people picking up/dropping off for U-Haul his customers too. I will never, ever, never, ever, pick up a U-Haul from a non U-Haul location. I can’t emphasize enough what a frustrating and absolutely horrendous experience I had at this location.

Howard SOnly 3 of 6 moving blankets were in the truck, and none were available, even though I paid for them. The dolly was not in the truck. I had to ask for it. The app did not work to take pictures of the van before I left. I had to leave because of the timing of the moving help, so I could not upload any pictures at all.

Daniel Lthey charged us for the insurance fee even though we clicked on the no insurance on the reservation and it took too much time with their customer service to get the fraudulent charge reversed.

Jennifer WOn theuhaul website, it stated I could pick up the truck at 9pm. When I called to confirm my reservation, I was advised 7pm was the latest I could pick up as the location did not have a lockbox. As such, i had to rearrange my entire evening to make it to the location by 7pm. I explained to the person I spoke with that the website stated I could pick up at 9pm and the person I spoke with was very short stating they could only do it until 7pm. Their own website stated they were "open" till 730pm, so when I mentioned that, he just repeated himself stating 7pm. If he could have provided rational for the 7pm, or why the website stated 9pm, that would have made it better. Also, when they saw my reservation, they made no attempt to reach out to me to let me know that I would not have been able to pick up at 9pm, and if I had nto called, I would have been stranded without a truck if they had not released the vehicle to me for the early morning move the next day. When I arrived, I found that this was a gas station rental location and the keys for the trucks were just behind the counter. This left me confused since the gas station was open 24/7 and keys were in an area accessable by any employee in plain sight. While i will likely use U-Haul again, I will not return to this location. So disappointing.

William AI chose a different location initially but it got changed to this location. We were not given the equipment, a dolly and furniture pads, that we had ordered and the location had none onsite to give us.
Logan CBy far this move has been the worse one I have ever done. Lake Murray UHaul did great however. I was charged twice. The one in Oceanside rented me a trailer that was not roadworthy and then after 20 minutes of them trying to trouble shoot it. I was sent to 3-4 different uhauls till I went and did my own research and actually called each branch to see if they had a trailer I could use. I understand your system was down. Does not mean your whole operation stops because people don’t wana talk to eachother. Because of this fiasco. I almost missed the move in time for my apartment and I didn’t get done moving till almost 3 am because of UHaul itself not being able to communicate with eachother. Lake Murray did their job. Everyone else did not

Mark MI asked for a pickup truck and had it reserved. When I showed up to get the truck the clerk said that he didn't have any pickup trucks and he doesn't normally have any pickup trucks. Then he stated that the person who had rented the truck just extended right now. I was very disappointed and didn't appreciate the way that it was presented to me. I don't drive and my wife who would be doing the driving didn't want to drive a box truck. She didn't feel safe driving one. We just had a few small things to move that is why we wanted a pickup truck. We did end up in a small box truck and were able to get part of the job done but that was not the point. I had reserved a pickup and was never informed that it would not be available for whatever reason. I still have not received any response about the truck not being available for whatever reason. I felt like it was a bate and switch. I don't think that I will ever recommend U-haul to anyone in the future. I have used U-haul in the past and have recommend them in the past to both family and friends.

Nahid KI believe some locations need assistance that deals with specific U-Haul equipment and products. The U-Haul truck I was assigned probably had been passed through the system without being checked. Safety is of great concern.

Michael MI appreciated the straight forward and transparent in person customer care received today. I was advised if I hand sufficient time to accomplish my move today and helped to recommend and explain the time differences and impact if not returning on time. I extended my time and worked perfectly. I would recommend this site to any else. Also, be patient and kind as this place can be busy with the gas station being of service as well.

Daniel MPeople were nice, but it was inconvenient because they were working the gas station/convenience store counter while trying to do the Uhaul processing. I also got charged a "safe trip" fee that was not on my quote and could not be explained.
Kristina GI reserved a appliance dolly with my truck rental and there was no dolly when I showed up. I had to go rent a dolly at Home Depot after driving to another uhaul location that said they had one and didn't. I spent over twice as much for the dolly rental. This wasted 2 hours of my time. I would like uhaul to cover my dolly rental due to the fact my reservation was handled poorly. I have my receipt and can send it to you.
Chris BI felt like the truck was great, and the move went smoothly. Checking in and out is a little difficult because you have to wait between the gas customers, who have priority since there is only one worker. The good thing was that it was handy to where I live.
Pamela FIt almost became a problem that the last person lied about their odometer. Your automated system needs to be able to read the final odometer reading… instead I had to spend 20min resolving it. Thank goodness the location was helpful.

Dennis DI had a reservation for a van at the El Cajon location. Upon arriving there, the van wasn't available. I wasted two hours until they sent me to a new location. I had a catering event and because of you, I arrived late. I want at least the $50 you guarantee. Because of you, I had an unsatisfied customer due to my delay.

ileana hI have used UHaul frequently for the last 25 years, and this was BY FAR the worst experience I have had at location. In fact, it was the only bad experience I've had with UHaul. When I arrived, I had movers waiting for me at my house. The manager at the pickup location recommended this location for drop off. Great. Had family meeting me at the location. They arrived 25 minutes before I did, and they let the representative know that I would be arriving in 25 minutes and would need to unload my vehicle from the auto transport. representative said okay. When I arrived, I let them know that I was there. "Okay." I waiting outside for 10 minutes before coming back inside to see what the hold up was. The guy was just standing there. Short story is that he said it was not his job to help me with getting the vehicle off the transport. He didn't know how, and that was my job to figure it out. So I'm here googling how to undo these straps, these chains, ect. He refused to help me back up the truck, would not guide me into the spot. It was dark out, and this was in the front lot of a busy gas station. When I finally got the transport into the spot (after 10+ attempts), he just went back inside. No receipt, no thank you, no instructions on next steps. I had to come inside and hunt down the info that he would email confirmation. Absolutely terrible customer service, and all the time that this took cost me nearly at hour of time (with movers then waiting at my house). This is totally unacceptable. I am unsure what proportion of this is on the location vs. how much of this is on UHaul for allowing policies like this to exist. But without something to make this right, I will not be using UHaul again.
