WILLIAM CWhile in line to pick up my u haul the representative, a white older male, started arguing very loudly with the customer in front of me. The customer accused him of being racist and rude. We waited a while for him to come help us. When he finally got to us he took a phone call and blew his nose loudly while the customer talked. She complained that he is always like this with customers. I felt a dismissive vibe when it was my turn to interact with him as well. When I returned the u haul the next day his attitude was still the same. Maybe the lady was right! I won’t rent here again.
regina cI had a reservation for a 7:30 pick up and at 7:51 Uhaul cancelled my reservation as I am standing in the lot trying to check in via my mobile, so I had to go into the hardware store because UHAUL wasn't open and they told me my reservation wasn't until 8:30 but clearly my confirmation said 7:30, and I had to do a 1/2 hour of paperwork only to get out to the truck to find that the battery was dead. Had to go back and an start all over with a new truck! Took us over an hour at the Uhaul while I was paying movers at my house, with no uhaul. Very frustrating!!!! The ACE employees were super helpful, this was a UHAUL issue! Too much lost time and too much money paid out when I didn't have what I needed in a timely manner!!!

GRAYLING DI originally rented from the U-Haul Portage location on Central Avenue, but when I arrived to pick up the UHaul cargo van, the van hadn't been returned. I was then sent to the U-Haul Lake Station location. I'd lost time with the glitch at the U-Haul Portage location, so I needed to get going. I arrived at the Lake Station location and got inside the van, only to find it was filthy. There was black underpants in the drivers seat, which I had to remove using a Clorox wipe to hold the underpants. There were stains on the passenger seat, and the flooring was filled with dirt. I reluctantly used the vehicle. The gas tank was supposed to be full but was at 3/4 tank. I had to return the vehicle full, which I did, but I shouldn't have had to pay to fill it when it wasn't full when I picked it up. I need to rent a U-Haul for a future trip from Indiana to Ohio, but unless I receive a credit, I will use Enterprise or some other company.

JESSE WOutside of van was clean. however, inside mats were very muddy and could have been rinsed off. The loading area could have been vacuumed. Otherwise, it was a smooth trip.

JOSEPH BEverything was great. Customer service at the rental location was expeditious and professional. Additionally, the location had a wide variety of sizes of trailers and trucks available for rental.
PAUL TThings to do to improve for the next customer is walk with the customer to insure the equipment is clean and ready to go and after do a walk through with the customer to insure the equipment is returned in the same condition rather than potentially charging the customer unnecessary fees such as parking,gas.cleaning and any other outrageous fees that the dealer can or may charge.

Mel DMy only complaint is the door on the driver's side was difficult to close. It actually opened on me while I was driving. When I first approached the truck, the door was opened, but I didn't think anything of it.
DOMINIC AThe truck was slow and definitely in need of repair, it was dirty on the inside (cup holder’s dirty, trash under seats, back not swept out. I fill it up but left it as I found it because it needed a complete cleaning before i stepped into it. The truck was loud, slow and difficult to turn. Probably the dirtiest, slowest and most need of maintenance truck I have driven. My truck was changed from a 15” truck to a 20” truck which made my event in Chicago much more difficult. The person that called to tell me that also said I could extend the day for free because of the mistake but that didn’t happen either. Overall very disappointed in this rental. I will probably go with a different company next time due to this.

Nanci CThe truck had a check engine light on and did not want to start the next day after I got it I was told it has to have a 1/4 tank and when I got it had a 1/8 of a tank I told the place it had a light on and they scanned it and said it was ok to take the front wheels where leaking fluid and the door needed to be lubricanted it was stiff

I am so glad you guys are so close and we need to keep our family run stores here and not let these big over bearing stores such as Walmart takeover our family owned stores. We need to support Ace Hardware and our family owned stores GUYS.

William HThe only thing I didn't like was the return. There was no one at the return counter so the cashier at the front counter told me I was just supposed to leave the key and go. This made me slightly uncomfortable. When I received my final receipt, it showed that I returned the truck at 517pm. In actuality, I returned it by 4pm. To me this is a security risk to yourselves and your customers leaving keys unattended like that.
Crystal JI had made a reservation for another pick up location that was close to the place I was moving from. 3 days before I was notified they didn't have what I needed so I was changed to this location. This change resulted in them not having record of the additional items I needed. They had a dolly for me but no blankets like I had reserved. I had to go to another location to get blankets which was a big inconvenience when I was trying to get moved!

Rudy ZLocal dealer was fine. It was the idiots on the customer service number that screwed me with extra charges that were reversed by the local office. I called these IDIOTS twice in a 21 hr period. When you make a reservation, reserve it for the FULL 24 hours. I clicked and gave them a 5 hr period for return. When I needed to keep it beyond that 5 hr period, they charged me another day. The local office reversed it. Do not deal with the customer service line if you can avoid them. Deal with the actual local store. I will never use UHAUL again.
