Dropped off after hours so generally not applicable. App and website are a problem - could not send photos required for return without calling and waiting on hold for 15 minutes. End of a very frustrating experience (see above) that should not be an issue with a major company like U-Haul. If I were two hours late returning you would have charged me - but take 2+ hours of my time and I get only the frustration. You all should know that I had an issue and maybe contacted me - but all I get is this type of request - so here is my poor rating. You may have avoided this if you had checked in, apologized for the inconvenience and thrown me a bone.John P.
Location for pick up is good. Cleanliness of vehicle was fair. I swept out vehicle (we only moved a mattress) and there was still a fair amount of dirt in truck. Truck driver side mirror was smashed. We went in to tell personnel at location before we left and their response was â€˜yeah we know'. The drop off was easy. We have used another UHaul full site that took much longer, prefer satellite locations (they are faster).Walter M.

Self check in on the app was not a good experience. Very slow and asked for passport photos, lease agreements and employer verification. This was on a Sunday morning. Who carries a passport around when picking up a rental truck and why do you need a lease agreement or employer verification? On-line self check in needs some work for sure. Your early return mobile phone process/app is poor. Spent 30 minutes in the cold trying to return key in a locked box with combination lock. App would not recognize my location making it extremely difficult and inconvenient. There are many easier and more convenient ways to have your customer drop off truck early and return key. I usually rent from HomeDepot. This time I thought I needed a cargo van, which they were out of so I came to UHaul. Ultimately, we switched to a box van, which is when I should have returned to Home Depot. The service attendant was confused about how to rent us the truck and I had to call the 800 number. The truck was horribly old - we felt every road bump! The shock absorbers were non-existant. There was no ramp, no backup camera, the driver door felt like it never closed properly, our phone didn't connect with the car to play music with a USB charger, there was no light in the back of the truck. It was just horrible and more expensive. Never ever ever again.ASHITA S.
I did a mobile 24/7 pickup. It would have been helpful to know there was a requirement for a passport / additional contact / etc. prior to picking up the vehicle. Only two of us were moving the van (myself as the renter, and another person as the driver). The mobile check-in didn't allow me to use either of our phone numbers as the additional contact phone number. We were only able to use the driver's phone number as the additional contact after a phone call with U-Haul. It would be a much better experience if either the items needed for pickup we're more clear at the time of reservation, or if the mobile check-in service allowed driver's phone number to be accepted from the start.Kerrick S.

Directions on after hour pick up ate vague at best. To say you need a mobile device is minimal and fails to state â€œon property â€œ with license and back up phone number. Phone communication with customer service is atrocious and this experience was frustrating and poorly presented.Terese W.
