It started off a little rocky when they couldn't get their system to match the price we were given in our online reservation, but they got it all figured out and all went well. The van we rented wasn't very clean, but they came out and got it all cleaned and made us feel very comfortable in using it. The gate to drop off the uhaul was a little tight. And the app wouldn't work for a while so it was a struggle. Good thing is, the owner was there and told us how to complete the drop off, even though it was Sunday and they were closed so we were happy he was there!Candice W.
We had planned to return our truck at 6pm unaware that the office would be closing at 5pm. This wouldn't have been a problem except we were given no return instructions. It was unclear where to park the truck, what to do with the dolly, or if there were any other location-specific return procedures. The office was also very dirty and there was dog poop all over the lot where the trucks are parked. I understand that auto-repairs and truck rentals are not meant to be glamorous, but this was very much below average.Lindsey C.

It took us an hour to get the UHAUL. The people usually working weren't there (they told us and we totally understand why) and someone else who doesn't normally work uhaul was working and did amazing. We just had to move all day and were exhausted and had to deal with this. Then once we got the uhaul the gas was completely empty and we had to use our own money to put gas in. We got it mostly figured out and they were great about working with us, but again, a bump in the road that set us back an hour and a half. There was also empty capri suns in the front and garbage in the back.Samantha B.
I simply lost half of my Saturday due to a problem on the trailer I rented to get a job done. I noticed the issue when I got home, contacted the customer service and it was not very smooth, it took hours of phone calls and waiting time. I lost 150 dollars.Rodrigo P.

Give consistent details on when equipment is due to be returned. I received conflicting information from the rental location, and Uhaul.com and it wound up costing me an extra $50 because I was told I was a day late returning the truck, when I thought I was a day early. I do have receipts to back this up. But overall - it was as good of an experience renting a moving truck as I would've expected.Lane C.

I would suggest actually replying to the guest when you send the receipt email after they return their equipment. When you guys send it and it gives you opportunity to email if the receipt has is wrong or you have concerns. I emailed twice and no response for being overcharged in many ways. Unfortunately I will not recommended or rent from this specific location again. It is quite sad.Shianne J.

The uhaul rep that check me in for my drop off was simply not a good experience. She had an energy that was slightly off putting. As I gave the keys to her, she started inspection. My partner and I, cleaned and mopped the truck before drop off and filled the tank up to a quarter tank which was the level required. After she finished her inspection, she comes over and says â€œso your total is $82 and I charged your card but it declined so you have a promissory note with uhaul, pay itit when you can!â€ We were baffled!! I asked her what made it so expensive and she charged us $72 fee because she said we didn't fill the gas to a quarter tank and only filled it 1/16â€¦ she talked over us and was rude and impatient. It just felt like it was the first time she had done something like this. I went back inside and found another worker who I asked to double check the fuel. Sure enough, a quarter of a tank full. M1 auto repair fixed this in the end. I'm grateful but man, what a joke. Honestly, felt slighted and disrespected.Ethan B.

I sat in the office for over 5 minutes while the representative did the walk around. When she came back in I asked her if everything was OK. She said yes and that I was free to go. Our overall experience was terrible. Our reservation was moved to another location the day before. That location wasn't open when we needed to pick up the truck. The app was useless and we were at the location trying to pick up for over an hour. The verification process should have been explained to us, we were told we would have to answer a few questions, not the case. Then when we finally got the truck, the check engine light and check the fuel cap light was on and it had no fuel in it. Can't believe how difficult it was to get through to someone to help, we were on hold twice for over 20 min and on 2 attempts our calls were dropped when we actually got to someone. Dropped off the truck and trailer when they were closed so no return inspection from dealer. When they checked in the equipment I was charged a $50 cleaning fee. Doesn't seem right as the equipment was cleaner and in better repair when I dropped it of than it was when I picked it up. I contacted the dealer and their agent was dismissive as to my objections to the charges. She basically told me to go pound sand and call Uhaul. I contacted a representative from Uhaul he was very helpful and requested that I upload the photos I took when I returned the equipment. He said that he would review with the area manager and get back to me within 72 hours.Roger T.

Dangerously negligent location. They didn't properly secure the trailer to my ball hitch, and it came flying off while I was driving down redwood road. I had to get a wild trailer under control while slowing from 50 mph. Could have done thousands of dollars of damage, or if I'd been next to a cyclist or a motorcycle, killed someone. The owner was condescending and showed incredibly poor professionalism. He's lucky it was an empty trailer and that no damage was done, because M1 did a terrible job through and through. Terrible Service!! Attempted to return my Uhaul a day early and asked the very rude lady at the front desk to check if I had returned the vehicle with enough gas to avoid the upcharge. If not I was willing to drive to nearby gas station a few blocks away and add a few extra gallons. There were dogs jumping on me as well as kids running around inside the office. I gave her the keys and rather than working with me she sat in the cab of my uhaul and up charged $67 then became very belligerent when I again explained my situation. She placed her hand on her hip and told me to read my contract that I had signed. This is simply unacceptable customer service on every level.Jane L.

Changed my pickup location last minute. Forced me to do online checkin. Took forever, didn't work well. On return â€” even though during business hours â€” the guy said he sent home the lady who checks us in. So I had to do online checkin. Again, clunky and slow. Poor customer service. He then threatened that if even one crumb had to be wiped off the dashboard we'd be charged a minimum $100 cleaning fee. I guarantee we won't be paying that. Not after driving this truck 14 miles and getting charged like $45 for gas and mileage â€” what a joke. Give me a discount for the miles that were due to the lack of availability at the location I selected. My preferred/selected location was less than 2 miles away. I was required to drive about 5 miles instead. Feel like I paid extra for nothing.
