The web based app did not work as it should have. It kept taking me back to the log in and password screen . I had to down load the app and it worked a little better. The guy at M & E Towing was an hour and a half late for my 8:00 am pick up. When I returned the truck at 12:40 I was charged for a second rental period and a second insurance fee. I was supposed to pick up my u haul on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 5 p.m. I arrived at 4:15 p.m. and followed the instructions on the website. I was instructed to go to the counter and ask the clerk for the key. The location was locked and there was no one inside. The lights were off. I called customer service for help and they transferred me to the regional customer service. She said she didn't understand that no one was there. Then she gave me the password to get into a lock box where the key would be. I opened the lock box and there was no key. This was awful because I had movers coming at 7 a.m. to help me move. I needed the van that night. Eventually I was told that the person was sick and I wouldn't be able to pick it up until the next day at 8 am. I showed up the next day at 8 am and no one was there. I called the number on the building and the man said someone was on their way. At 8:15, a lady showed up and said my name was not in her system. I offered to show her the confirmation email and she said it doesn't matter what the email says if it's not in her system. I had an email that guaranteed my pick up. Also, I never received a furniture dolly or appliance dolly. I received a standard dolly which we made work but this was an awful experience. I was told I would be credited $50 from Customer service and that never happened. I also paid for aforementioned dollys and didn't receive them during the pick up.Dalton G.
The checkout process was annoying as hell! Having to do everything online, answer a million questions, take pictures to â€œguarantee cleanliness,â€ and verify the mileage â€¦ shouldn't it simply be a matter of dropping the key in the box, and that's it? I don't know if it's using Covid as an excuse, or not wanting to pay someone to be there in the afternoon/evening, but it was a lot of trouble for the customer, just to make it easier for the company.Martin B.

We were supposed to pick up our rental at 8:30am with the mobile pickup option. No one was at the location when we arrived. We phoned the number and the owner answered and said he had overslept and would head over shortly. He arrived at 10:30am. We asked to get our truck as we were already late and had chosen the TruckShare option so we wouldn't have to wait. He told us that he had to check in ALL of the trucks (10+) that had been turned in overnight before he could check us out. We waited another 20 minutes and finally he checked us out - asking for information we had already filled in online. We got our truck 2 1/2 hours after our rental time. 5 miles down the road, the fuel light came on and we had to get gas. The dolly provided was unusable because the safety straps were ripped and torn. We used the truck and when we returned it, again we had to wait 20 minutes for him to check us in.Patrick V.

Uhaul called me to change my pickup location but also changed the terms on my contract. I originally wanted the rental for two days but someone changed it to 4 hours because of it being round trip. I got a call when I had the truck that I needed to turn it in or be charged double. I called and got the issue fixed but they still charged me extra. I'll never use them againTravis S.

I was charged double for using the rental for 6 hours and 12 minutes instead of the 6 hours. I was stuck in traffic and even called M&E towing to let them know. Renae Brown at that location said it was okay.lanrandall E.
This was the worst experience I ever had with a U-Haul provider. Even though i booked and paid online, i still had to wait 45 mins to be handed my keys because the worker was overwhelmed and was told by the owner to stop servicing people. Once the owner arrived he didn't offer any apologies but proceeded to bash the employees intelligence level. This made me late to my event. I was also charged for gas after i returned the truck with the dropoff after hours and I know for a fact my truck was returned with the proper fuel. At that point I no longer was going to argue and I will never rent from this Uhaul and probably no Uhaul ever again in life.Adriane L.

Nothing. There were traffic issues that delayed getting the truck back on time and everyone was kind and understanding. I want to send a special thank you to the regional operator I spoke to on Saturday. Sorry I did not get her name. She did an excellent job, explaining things to me, listening actively to my issues and solving my dilemma. Wonderful experience all around except for the traffic problems which none of us could prevent. Thanks for an excellent model of customer service!MARY M.
They gave my truck to another customer under my name and contract. I was overcharged and the truck was returned by the other customer and was given to me wet on the inside.. Very DISAPPOINTED!!Stephanie B.

Owner was disgruntled that he was told to come in and provide me with a key on a Sunday. He was in the middle of house hunting with his wife. He was upset with U-Haul because he can't afford to have an employee sit around all day and so he only comes in when there is a reservation. I was a last minute customer after having not accepted a truck with a bald tire at another location. After venting his frustrations regarding U-Haul, he provided a key, but no contract. I've worked in repair garages so I am OK with the location and with my experience (he was nice enough to me), but I wouldn't recommend it to others who are less comfortable with that environment. It is a very different experience from the corporate locations.Robert C.

I was first sent to a self serve location by April from Warwick Blvd. No one was there. She told me they opened at 10am, which was not true. I called traffic and was sent to 9912 Jefferson Ave. I was waited on, was supposed to get a discount. Did not go 30 miles. I put 25. 00 worth of gas in truck. Brought truck back a little after 2pm. Yet was charhed $69.00. How is this even possible? Truly dissapointed, because I was ripped off. I do appreciate the lasy at traffic, because she went out her way to help me. Kudos to her.GAIL M.

Pickup location was changed day before the move but Uhaul and failed to verify they had the correct vehicle. Pickup location went out of their way to locate and get the truck 2 hours away. Poor planning on Uhaul since they had 3 weeks planning. Quick and easy checkout by using online checkout night before.Paul M.
