My experience with U-Haul this go round was unfortunately one of my worst. I selected the preferred pick-up location over 2 weeks before the pick-up date. One day before moving, I hadn't received a call to either confirm my reservation or provide any further details. I had to stop in to the U-Haul in Manheim (my preferred pick-up location) and immediately became concerned because there were no trucks in the parking lot. After speaking with the convenience store rep, she had to call her manager to see if they could get a truck here in time for tomorrow morning. Of course, he was unable to help and hung up. From there, I asked another question, which of course yielded another phone call to the manager. "Why am I booking a reservation with specific pick-up times and locations if they'll just be changed around?" I asked. This clearly frustrated him, and he wouldn't offer me any other form of peace of mind. As I'm moving long distance, I had to coordinate many different schedules and time tables, so the extra 30 minute drive to Mt. Joy where they moved me was very frustrating. The next morning at the Mount Joy location, the U-Haul app that you have to download wouldn't allow me to use the electronic pick-up. The mobile pick-up couldn’t load the page that I needed to check-out. I chose that option because it would be out of U-Haul hours of operation and because I assumed it would be quicker and more efficient. That’s what I get for assuming. Of course, I had to go inside and there the rep was able to help me redo my order. This rep was able to offer me a higher mileage limit, which didn't matter because I had mapped our route down to 90 miles, so offered a $10 discount. This rep was helpful and understanding.
