UHaul needs to improve EVERYTHING. We had a nightmare of an experience across the board from literally start to finish. No one was helpful, no one was willing to listen to what the hell we went through. We have another move we have to make in a few weeks and we will 100% be boycotting UHaul and going with other services. Never again will we use Uhaul. Period.

Location was out of the way to my location. Location nearest me (3.5 miles) did not receive the truck back from customer, so they sent me over 30 miles away to obtain a truck. Engine light was on in the truck I was given.

I enjoyed coming to this location they had great equipment and hooked me up with a deal on there uhaul equipment that i got and everything was explained greatly and the attended that was named sam there helped me with the rental and loading my uhaul up

Return process needs improvement. I had to request help to unhook the trailer and was not given any king of receipt or confirmation of returned equipment.

I checked in online and paid. At this location I had wait while clerk was with sales rep. Once she helped us she asked questions We had already completed online. She then ask us to pay which was also done online. After she looked further she saw we had already paid. We informed her we had done online check in but I guess she didn't see it.

I didn't understand why I could drop off the equipment at another uhaul location. Instead I was told I would have to drive it back to the original location because I would be charged twice of I dropped it off at another location. It seems like they just wanted to charge for the mileage. Never again.

The truck reserved was dirty with hay and supplies all in the back so I had to have it switched out. I wasn't given a new contract emailed with the gas amount but what they said was in it and what it was wasn't correct. The exchange was done by some man over the phone named Mikel. The manager I was told. He also changed my reservation. I had a one way truck to drop off wherever but he changed it and gave me a particular drop off location which i didn't know until I was dropping off. The truck was almost empty when I received. I was charged $59 in gas and I only drove about less than 40 miles. I was given 60. How does 40 miles equal to $59 in gas? I called the lady where I got the truck and she said she'd call back and didn't. When I called back a few hours later I was told she wasn't there and the other worker was very nasty and rude! I know I was charged a $30 fee 😔 then $59. The entire experience was very bad and I'll never rent from Uhaul again. But please research this issue cause those miles don't add up to that amount of gas. I called customer service and spoke to someone and was told I'd get a call back also and nothing there either 😒

I had a guaranteed reservation at the U-Haul in Sanford. When I got there, the trailer wasn't available. The gentleman working called another U-Haul in Olivia, NC, and they said they had the trailer available, so I immediately went there to pick it up. It wasn't available. They called the area manager who made a reservation for the trailer in Wendell, NC, and hour away. When I got there, the trailer wasn't available either. I ended up renting a smaller trailer and had to pay a $60 drop-off fee in Sanford. An $18.95 rental ended up costing $81.00, plus lots of wear and tear on my own vehicle.

This uhaul place was in a gas station so there were many other non uhaul customers that I had to step aside for before the cashier was able complete my rental order which was frustrating . There should have been another cashier available to serve customers

The trailer was a good unit that pulled well and the rollup door worked fine however there were only tie down rings at bottom. The slats along the side were NOT conducive to attaching straps as the hooks would not fit. Rings at the middle and top would have been much more useful.

Person did not even stand up deal with my transaction, or point to the correct side of the building where my truck was (let Aline walk me out to the parking lot to show me the truck). These are all things I've had in the past when renting from U-Haul. The truck was clean, but needed some serious work on the transmission. Forward gears hesitated horribly before actually grabbing after the gas was applied. When I put the vehicle in reverse to back into my driveway, the vehicle died. I had to shift into park to restart so I could continue the reverse into my drive. Overall, I wish I could have used the 15' truck that was sitting in the lot of my storage unit. This location is closer to my house and where my storage unit is so it was the primary choice, but I was told a vehicle would not be available. Frustrating to say the least when I pulled up and there was a truck sitting there. I will be looking into another rental truck company for my next move. I never had any problems with Penske, be it with the service, reliability or vehicle.

My reservation didn't have all the items that should've been included and when I stated that, I was told I wouldn't be charge and I was still charged. Also, I was supposed to be able to pick up the truck without goin inside and the key was no where to be found like the online instructions said. After an hour, the staff at the location finally found the key. It was inside of the store. I also kept being asked if I paid already when I clearly wouldn't have made a reservation without giving my card information prior to doing so. It was an unpleasant experience and I was charge for things that I did not get with my rental and was late getting to my destination.

Poor customer service, attendant does not help with anything, trailer lights stopped working halfway through the trip, told attendant when we returned and he acted as if oh well, returned a day early and was never refunded fee for early return

Truck had mud and was dirty when I picked it up. I swept it out before I returned it. I was charged a cleaning fee when I returned it. I used a credit card to reserve the truck. I was told there would be no charge on the card until it was returned. When I picked it up I was told they would "put a hold on the card" for the amount the anticipated. Truck handled well though and the people working where very friendly and helpful.

If I could give a -5 rating to this establishment, I would. Let me first start by saying that I have been a loyal patron of U-Haul and specifically this location for years, which is why I am utterly disgusted by what happened in the past week. My husband and I decided to relocate from Northern VA to NC, which, if you have never moved states, is a very daunting and overwhelming experience. Luckily, I booked our 26' truck over 5 months in advance from our move and got an amazing rate ($371 for 2 days and mileage). We were also storing our entire household worth of items in the same location at their storage facility. My husband and I actually moved down to NC a bit earlier than expected, so our plan was to fly up from Raleigh NC to Dulles and go straight to the Sterling Storage and Rental facility to claim our 26' truck and get our items out of storage, and drive down to our home in NC. This was going to work out perfectly, pick up the truck and load up our storage all at the same place…….or so I thought. The DAY before we were supposed to get our truck (fly from Raleigh to DC), we got a call from the scheduling office in VA letting us know that 1) they did not have a truck for us, 2) the closest they could get us a rental was 10 miles away, the Chantilly Office – in NOVA traffic, that is about 40 minutes and 3) it would be for 7 hours later…….IF the person brought the truck back in time. When I received the call, I was understandably frustrated, emotional and left with no options. What were we supposed to do? Uber from Dulles Airport to the Chantilly location and wait for 7 hours in a U-Haul office? After waiting, we would have to let our movers know to meet us later, and then drive 5 hours down to our home in NC………I don't think so. I informed the representative that I would not be paying for the reservation at all, and that this was a complete disappointment. The woman I spoke with was completely apathetic and almost annoyed by my frustration. I was pretty thrown off by her attitude. I have spent so much money with this company, and ultimately, I am a customer…why am I being talked to like this? BUT, ultimately, we did not have time on our side. Our move was the next day, so we had to make decisions. Do we wait in the Chantilly location for 7 hours in the hopes that the person brings the truck back? Do we look at other companies? Luckily, my brother-in-law was in the area and came up with a brilliant idea – why don't you rent a truck from Raleigh and drive it up to NOVA, get your stuff and then drive it back down to Raleigh? BRILLIANT – we will atleast have time on our side. I immediately called back the scheduling/logistics office and let them know about the resolution that WE HAD COME UP WITH – not them. She said “great, I updated the reservation, you can pick up the truck in Raleigh.” We picked up the truck with no issues, drove from Raleigh to NOVA (5 hrs) and got our stuff from the U-Haul storage facility. We drove back down to NC and

It rained the morning after we picked up the truck , and it leaked all over our kids mattresses and some of our boxes with electronics and valuables in them. There was a puddle all across the moms attic and 2days after it rained the mattress was still soaked in one spot. The kids had to sleep on the couches. :-( for $101 you would think the truck wouldnt leak on your belongings!!!!

The U-Haul system (website) would not work for me or the store and they were so nice and helpful despite the difficulties. They apologized for the inconvenience and were just very nice. If I ever need a U-haul again I will definitely use them!

The ,day that waited on me, I guess she was the owner of the store was rude and lacked professionalism. Every Latino or white person she waited on she was nice to and told them as they were leaving the store to have a nice day; but when she got to me she didn't say anything and even laid my receipt on the counter even when my hand was outstretched for her to put the receipt in my hand. I guess she was too busy watching the other black man in the store trying to make sure he didn't steal anything out of that raggedy store. Will never use that location again.

i had problems with the location i was going to they did not have my equipment there that i reserved and i needed the equipment for that day to move i found Mario deli and grill open and they had a large variety of sizes available to pick from so i got the equipment i needed and went on my way and i also loved how they were professional and explained the details about everything for me and i would rent from them again when comes the chance

I would NOT recommend this location at all, the representative deceived us about purchasing more days in advance because it was cheaper than if we called and added days after we rented the truck if our move took longer than planned. THEY DID NOT refund the extra days very POOR customer service. I would NOT recommend this location!

This location was wonderful. The staff are so friendly and awesome!!! I am thankful they had the truck available on short notice. My experience this time with uhaul due to another location was not so good. On 8/14/19 I went to the uhaul location at Mr.G's a convenient store/gas station in Zebulon NC. I told the clerk I wanted to reserve a truck for Saturday 8/17/19. She booked it and I thought I was all set for pick up on Saturday. A $65.00 authorization hold was placed on my account which I knew would be completed for the total amount after I returned the truck today. Yesterday I called to confirm everything was in order and the clerk realized they made a mistake and told me they would fix it. This morning early, I realized uhaul had charged me over $100.00. I quickly started a chat with a uhaul representative because there was no reason I should have been charged. The representative told me her record showed the truck was picked up on 8/14/19 and returned on 8/15/19 . I proceeded to tell the representative the story and that I had not had the truck at all. I told her I needed the truck for today. Then she filed a dispute on my behalf. She also said I had no reservations at all today and I would have to make a new reservation. She recommended contacting the uhaul location at Mr. G's to resolve the dispute quicker. I first reserved the truck online at the location I used today, which was terrific! Then later today I called Mr.G's. They were understanding, and they said they would do what they needed to so I can get my money back quicker. They are very nice at this location, it is just being without over $100.00 and then having to rent again is very frustrating. They wanted me to rent a truck again from them today, but I told them I just needed them to get my money back. The clerk said they would get it done as soon as possible. I will still have to wait 3-5 business days for the credit to process through visa. It has really placed me in a tight spot financially until I get the money credited back to my account. This is the first time I have had such a problem with uhaul, and I know it was a simple mistake. I just hoped there would be a quicker way to resolve it. Thank you!

I was charged for 2 additioanl days although I had spoken with a U-Haul representative prior to returning the trailer. There was a mixup regarding where to return the trailer so the Customer Service representative said she would put in the notes that I should not be charged for additional days. I returned it and the person onsite did not tell me he that he charged me. The receipt was sent to my email on a delayed basis so I didn't look at it until I reconciled my credit card statement at the end of the quarter. My contract number was 88725179 and the additional charge was $70.99 which I would like to get a credit for.
