Customer service call center was horrible. They told me they had a truck available, made the reservation and charged me and then said someone would call me to advise when and where I could pick up truck. I received a text message hours later saying to pick up the truck in Ozark which was over 2 1-2 hours away. I called the “scheduling” number and they were rude. I tried to explain it would take 6 hours to go and get that truck. She could barely speak and just said well you gonna get it or not. I asked is not anything else closer she said Nope, all we got you want it or not. I had to call back 4 times searching and asking for a truck closer. Every single UHaul In Auburn and Opelika had trucks sitting empty. But the local U-Haul dealer said no one will allow their trucks to be rented one way because everyone is leaving Auburn and no one is bringing trucks in. So they won’t have any to rent for local. She said sorry it happens everyday even if you reserve one they will give your truck to someone else and you will be stuck without a rental. I had to rent a truck half the size that I needed and then had to drive almost 3 hours to pick it up and return. When I picked up the truck the dealers computer didn’t work, he said U-Haul computer systems lock up every Saturday and they can’t do anything. It took over 3 hours standing in their office waiting for him make the reservation. He finally had to complete it on his phone, couldn’t print a receipt or copy of contract because his computer was locked up.
Jeffrey BCalled for assistance, no one had ever used self check-in online. Clueless. Uhaul app did not work when checking in.. chat option did not work or reply. Could not get code to key. Interior widows were horrible... Had to clean myself to drive at night.

Danny HMcDaniel's storage was outstanding. We used their storage unit after losing our home to a tornado. In the recovery process, they were one of the easiest of systems with which to work.

WENDY POriginal reservation pick up was at another location and when I got there they did not have one available and had me go out of my way to another location. Once I got to the new location the price went from $65 to $90 because they included insurance that I did not want but now that I was running late because of the extra travel time to pick it up I didn’t have the time to fix it. As far as the employees are concerned they were all friendly just the fact a reservation was made at a location that didn’t have the correct size trailer
JOE OMcDaniel storage is a great place to store your belongings. They helped to ensure any theft by installing fences and cameras. I had peace of mind knowing my belongs were safe. Convenient paying online also.

As for McDaniel's facilities, nothing but awesome.. I personally know Stick and David and they're doing a great job and if I ever need a unit again I'll be going to see them every time....
Donald PThe truck had some damage. These things would give the driver more confidence. I took photos before leaving but still the Uhaul ownership should note this damage and check it off on the rental. Other than that the 26’ truck drives great. Prefer it to be a diesel for mileage being paying per mile and fuel cost. My pick up truck gets better but you don’t offer a large trailer to haul with.

Joe KMcDaniels is a great storage facility. I think it rained eight inches in a small amount of time while I had storage and no leaks or issues. Staff is courteous, helpful and you can trust them. Will definitely use again.

David S | Overall ExperienceUnbeknownst to me, this location was closed on Sunday which was my date to return. I dropped the truck off easily with no issues, the location is nice and convenient, but I received an email later that day saying that they had not received my equipment and I was being charged extra. I called and was on the phone for over an hour trying to get it resolved. Everyone I talked to at Uhaul was frustratingly unhelpful and I was on hold for 99% of it. Turns out, the only issue was that the place was closed and my return had not been processed. The email was automated and I had to wait until the next day to find out if Uhaul was going to charge me extra. Very frustrating! Uhaul needs to fix this glitch in their after hours system so it doesn’t happen to someone else.
Susan WThe staff at McDaniels were great and stayed a little over their closing time to assist me. The need for them to stay was because Uhaul changed my pick up location and failed to notify me. I arrived at the location that was in my original order and it was closed down! Fortunately someone from McDaniels called me that morning and I learned about the location change when I called her back. I had to drive to the next town (25 minutes I had not planned for) and inconvenienced their wonderful staff because Uhaul representatives failed to do their job. This is unacceptable!
