The app did not work for us to pick up our vehicle. We wasted 1/2 hrs or more with Chat and phone calls. Eventually they were able to get us processed and provide lock code. The lock device at the location was a bit of a struggle to open the lock but we did get it. Based on that whole experience I would give 2 stars only.Brian R.
Ordered a uhaul truck for a one way drop off over 2 months ago to move tomorrow and they call me day before to tell me they're are NO TRUCKS available for one way. First off, if you can't satisfy customer orders DONT have it as an option. Also, uhaul does not compensate for the inconvenience of us having to drive 1 1/2 hours to Hanover to go get the uhaul in the first place because they did not have one available in KITCHENER which is the location I booked for pick up The fact scheduling leaves this communication till less than 24 hours leave people with no chance to make alternate arrangements This has nothing to do with the location we ended picking up from, they were good. They have to deal with the brunt of uhaul's terrible service as most of the rental dealers are just trying to provide a service to the locals. I will personally never try to book with uhaul again. Gas was an additional 100 dollars with no compensation.Jennifer M.
I found the on-line booking somewhat confusing. I allowed me to initially book a 10' truck and when the contract was finally set up it was for a cargo van, as no trucks were available at this location. The on-line site indicated there was. Anyways, went with the van, and all was OK, just a bit more awkward loading for me.Paul C.

Tie Downs are in adequate! Wire D-Rings are a joke! I Rented a Trailer from U-haul with Tie Downs, and U-Haul failed to deliver. Horrible Experience.CHRIS F.

Service representative was unable to explain the pricing of my rental to me. Said that she was just there to give me the vehicle. In the past, the service rep would walk out to the truck with me, show me where the ruck was or bring it to the front, and do the inspection together. This was not the case. The van was not cleared of snow and we were not told which vehicle was ours, nor was it explained how the pre inspection or return inspection was to be done; no mention of needing to be at the truck to take live pictures (retuning the truck took way to long as I needed to return to the truck on three occassions.Adriene M.

Well I got the truck with 1/4 tank of gas when I picked it up and I fill it up to 1/4 when I dropped it off and still got charged for a gas fill up on my credit card not vary happy with that at all for that reason I will probably not rent from This company again 😠Randy B.

Make sure old snow and ice was cleaned off mine was supper hard to clean and it didn't snow the night before so it could of been done! I would understand more I'd it was fresh bit it wasn't other than that overall very exceptionalTia L.
It would be nice if the vehicle had snow tires. Also the wipers need to be winter wipers, when I first turned them on the just reduced my visibility and I had to pull over to bend them so they would contact the windowARIE R.
Verify fine print, making sure that the renter is aware of the additional charges, ex: telling them that they need to fill out a form apon drop of if after hours instead of not saying anything and getting an additional 20$ charge, asking if they want the coverage instead of putting it on without permission and making sure the trailer is ready to leave, not told to get in truck and good to go and find out the door is wide open, and when trying to dispute it being told that it's not uhauls problem makes me not want to rent ever again, very disappointedRYAN P.

The fill up gauge sheet which is provided to advise how much to fill up based on usage seems to be incorrect. I was to put in approximately 66 litres for 1/4 tank usage. Instead it filled over half tank thus costing me excess $.KAREN R.
The people we worked with were great. The system - internet- when signing up and when returning the vehicle were abysmal. Too long to complete. Stops due to problems with system and restarts. We tried 4 valid cards until one worked. Returning, we got stuck in a loop and waited almost an hour to speak to a human who could complete the process. In the end the problem wasn't solved, but the fellow said he'd speak with UHaul/McCarthur to validate our efforts. Bad system. Fix it!Diane O.

If the driver's license is expired they can renew from their phone in 5 minutes. The truck used was well maintained but very old. Good experience all around.JAMES W.

The loading ramp on the truck kept getting stuck, each time we went to close it. It did eventually close, but it took a lot of wiggling and trying to get it to go back into its' storage area.John G.
The trailer I rented didn't have a jack or lift to take it off my hitch. The tongue was much too heavy for me to lift off my hitch and no one was in the office to help. I had to flag down a man in a pick-up truck to lift it off for me. Also the online check-out didn't work so I had to call the suggested number but as it was a Saturday at 4:10 pm I couldn't reach any one despite the message telling me that everyone was busy serving other customers. The message should have said no one is in the office and provided another phone number. I fortunately had the phone number from the person in Windsor who called me to change my location from Palmerston to Hanover. Someone did answer that number and was able to process my exit. The man who lifted off the trailer couldn't believe how heavy it was and that there was no jack system to be able to winch it up.JOKELEE V.

We had a 9 am pick-up scheduled and had to wait 40 minutes before getting served. They seemed to be having a lot of issues with their system and when we brought the truck back, we were told we owed an additional $160 that we were not prepared for. Customer service was great. I had two rentals in the past two days, the first one I swept out the truck and was still charged the cleaning fee. The arbitrary standard of cleaned-out left me feeling ripped off. I also did not have time to fill up the tank so I paid the very high gas fee. The second rental I tried my best to avoid both fees again. I filled up the tank to the 3/8ths line which is the amount in the truck when I received it and was still charged $19.50 for gas. I have a picture of the dashboard with my gas level when I returned. Also, the app that you are supposed to use when returning the vehicle did not work, it wouldn't allow me to take a picture, and this step could not be skipped to complete the process.Kyle C.

Extremely disappointed in my experience. Long waits due to them filling out stuff on computer, and failing to report the return properly cost me over an hour of my time. I was also forced to take 15 dollar insurance because the computer didnt work when i hit no insurance. I gave them my credit card and was still forced to make a cash deposit of 100 dollars. When i came back to get my deposit they tried to charge me for a late return because of their failure to put the return in the computer(i was actually a day early on my return) i was then charged 40 dollars for gas after i filled it up and took pictures of the fuel tank. They said i left it at a lottle over 3 quarters and based on their fuel capacity that means it was short 20 litres short. So i was charged 2 dollars per litre of gas based on the hypothetical return. Now i have to wait to speak to a manager to get my gas money back. I dont think it could have gone worse.Lee K.

Make sure you call to confirm your truck and request early. We had scheduled a 2 day rental and was only slotted in for 1. This was not the fault of the Hanover location but U-Haul traffic.
